I would add that you should tone down color and fold pattern as you add other aspects like pattern mixing and accessories. For example, I like to wear a boutonnière. When I do, I wear a solid white linen pocket square in a presidential fold.
What about a simple presidential fold ? Its more business subtle, beside white linen you can get some with some colored edging to give a little pop. For sure not a "look at me" but a nice touch ?

Yes, I do like that one too, especially with a crisp linen. It's more formal but also more subtle.
