this is really useful and agree they look very similar. your point about seasonality actually convinced me to pick up both trousers so i can have tweak the look since the jacket is a 4 seasoner, but matching the footwear is not something i had considered before

Prologue or Anthology overall for you?

I bought Dr martens loafers and ofc they don’t do half sizes (I use size 9 regularly) and when I bought them I ofc rushed to buy it as they fit well with my foot’s width. Just not the length.. they do say the shoe will stretch so it was a mistake by my side. I can’t return them now since I bought them in NY so this video is the next best thing

Their quality and fits are not consistent at all,their MTM is horrible,their fabrics are hit or miss,the last linen shirts I bought from them was 1 white and 1 blue,the white linen shirt had better heavier fabric and fits okay but the blue linen was bad in fit and horrible in fabric,the blue linen became unwearable after one wash,how can they make the same shirt styles but the white had better fabric than the blue?,I reached out to customer service and they refused to do anything about it,so far I have 2 MTM shirts and 1 blue linen shirt that are unwearable,I have bought a total of 6 shirts from SPIER & MACKAY and 3 of them are unwearable.

I wear size 9s and they are too tight and 10 size is ok but my heels slip out while walking fast, but at the toes they are relaxed

Chunky knit with pattern and/or texture really is the key to avoiding the Ned Flanders vibe. It just makes it more interesting in general. I like wearing them over flannel shirts and under a barbour jacket or field jacket for rugged outdoors vibe.

Very helpful video! I purchased a navy blue cotton cricket jumper (Tommy Hilfiger) with green and white band. I was curious how I would wear it. I was thinking about pairing it up with a white button down shirt and dark blue jeans or beige chinos.

This is good 3:20. But the most effective way is to really find your own size or yet, go to the store and try it own.

I solved my problem with a Carlo Ronaldi Horsebit Goodyear Wealt that was my size number, but to DEEP so my feet got into the tip and my heels always slipped, I tried with a leather heel grip and nothing, then with a silicone gel midsole and the shoes got to tigh they hurted and also slipped, but not with socks. I solved it by using a very fine leather insole and glueing a silicone half tip insole so my feet doesn't got into the tip. K can use my loafers now with socks and they dont slip anymore.

Good, articulate review. I would have appreciated some remarks on size. My jacket size is 38. A Barbour sizing chart suggested a medium. The Ashby that I own (and love) is XS. Even the S was too big for me. I recommend trying on the Barbour of your choice in a store to eliminate disappointment with regard to size.

I agree totally with the button location. It's too high. So can you have them adjusted with a tailor?

I order a slim and a contemporary the contemporary is 16 inches the bottom but when i take to the taylor the finish is 17 and the slim is 15 on the bottom but when i take to the taylor is 16 so for me a slim is a contemporary when is taylored

Thank you! The tongue pads along with the thicker no-show socks worked in getting my loose Bass loafers to finally fit. Going down a half size wasn't an option, and as you mentioned the heel grips were wholly inadequate.

Tongue pads worked out pretty good, with heel grips my issue was that they were indeed very grippy so that just slid down my no-show socks after 2 steps
