My Focus RS is Back After 5 MONTHS! | PROJECT PART 11

- The missing car from my garage is finally returning! The Red Edition Focus RS project car has been at Mountune and it's finally time to collect it, with plenty of pops and bangs on the drive home. Also, let's check out what's coming next with thanks to Custom Carbon NL!
After a huge host of modifications to date, the Ford Focus RS mk3 has very much become a different beast to where it began - which was already one of only 300 units of the Red Edition. For example it's wearing the Ventus Veloce carbon fibre kit, a new Prototrim Alcantara interior, massive upgrades from Mountune to the engine to rebuild it and raise the power to 500hp and more including an SS Tuning steering wheel, BBS CI-R wheels and plenty of more touches.
At the time I dropped it off 5 months ago, the plan had been for an upgrade to the gearbox to change it over to a sequential to make it feel even more like a racecar. However, that process has been much more involved than I anticipated, and has required a lot more development work and testing than first thought on Mountune's own dev vehicle. However, in the meantime, more updates have been done to mine in terms of the calibration and setup which becomes instantly noticeable when I'm back on the roads. After a small scare, which turned out to be absolutely nothing, it's an easy drive with the typical rain and traffic to be expected at this time of year.
Next up though, some more modifications to be done! Firstly thanks to Custom Carbon NL we finally have some carbon fibre mirror caps but in addition they have also very kindly supplied a set of Anderson Composites fender panels which look incredible. Being much lighter than stock, while adding some width to the fenders, plus a vent for air flow they will look incredible however just exposed carbon might be overkill. That's where Topaz Skin comes in! The intention is to use Topaz's peelable paint protection spray to match the Race Red paintwork while creating a unique design over the top of the carbon on both the fenders and the carbon fibre bonnet.

I’ve never picked up a carbon panel. Everyone talks about how light they are. But boy that demonstrates how light it really is
Helped my friend install a carbon fiber hood on his 350Z. Turned out the stock plastic hood was lighter. Bare carbon looked so much better though
I once had a chance to look at a carbon fiber bicycle and it was really really really really really light.

You wouldn’t believe how light carbon fiber bicycle wheels are. Just insanely light and, may I add, incredibly durable.

I thougt Mountune had i so long, cours they put the new gearbox in it. So they have nothing done with it since last time you were driving it But god to see it back in the garage. That other gearbox is no fun in the city.
That rs is to die for,can't wait to see the carbon pieces fitted,I'd look for every tunnel I could find just for the pops and bang's!

Mr Schmee, you can fill up your car at both sides at the pump no matter what side your fuel filler cap is. Just pull out the hose from the pump and you can reach both sides of your car.
400 ponies exiting such little car must be fun. wasn't expecting much,but the view inside the engine coffin is something .the carbon parts and the work done seems like pristine.

Honestly the Aston and the focus have been some of my favorite projects just because of how crazy they look and mods and all that. I love all the cars but the focus with watching this crazy build I just love it
You know cars are all about passion and fun when Shmee has a Senna, AMG GTR Pro etc ect and still laughs and smiles the same amount driving an affordable hot hatch

Glad to see the red monster back in the stable. I had the good fortune of seeing it at Goodwood in summer 2018. Its changed quite a bit since then fair play ! Few more horses under the hood 😎

Finally getting that bonnet done, my 2pence.... just have the vents showing in carbon, same as how you mentioned on the front wings, although surely the rear ones will need to be done also? Some good old bonding on there or get them smoothed into the original rear quarter and painted 😉

"That triangle" exposed. That triangle is a trim piece on the new DBX that I noticed could be customized when I was building one. I built the car silver and placed that trim piece as black--to me, it gives the DBX an entirely different look, and makes it look longer and lower in the front. I like your decision for skinning those fenders where you explained!
Those pops and bangs 💥 are engineered into the map. Sound a bit tacky tbh mate. You could ask them to dial them back a bit.
You can actually just change the setting if you don't want them, but for entertainment purposes why not

I would love to be able to drive one of these one day, let alone one like this! I don’t have shmee $ to spend but I had a 2007 STI when in Michigan years ago, was such a fun car and super good in the snow with snow tires. Always felt hatchback would be the way to go.
