Man even in my chair at home I can feel how close the car is to losing control on some of these turns. Amazing lap and very cool car. You can tell the owner loves driving/cars a lot by his input. The gearing in particular seems great, came very close to maxing it out but didn't quite get there, which IMO is perfect.

@@MrKveite1 500+ crank wouldn't be unreasonable. Pretty chunky little car and it's boost by gear, so that'll be peak power on the straights, not constant output.
I have one of these totally stock though but regarding the engine it's highly recommended to have them 'built' above 400hp tbh, the blocks open deck and well it ain't got much headroom. The traction on them is so good it does feel like it could do with another 200hp over stock.
Only on the ring and Spa those over 400hp come in handy, on smaller racetracks stock or just under 400hp is more then enough since wheels and suspension is more important then high power output. I rather have better brakes and coils then more hp on track.
@@josefinkjellsson7051 Probably stock short block. You can do over 500 crank hp on these but it's a dangerous game as to whether the block will crack externally. 500 crank is okay if your not doing any track time.

The Mk3 rs had massive hype before its release. It has pretty much what everyone wanted an rs focus to be but didn't get the love. Probably because its harsh in normal driving, when you push it it makes more sense and loves getting swung about on gravel.
In my opinion, is because Ford messed up on the head gasket. Using the mustang ecoboost one with different coolant holes really created the bad fame, that the car did not deserved.
I liked the rear end coming out some too... and.. the only thing that passed you was that purple Porshe. Tight at the beginning and you kept it really clean to get the best response.
The rear propably slides some, because the rear axle rotates 2% faster than the front, to make it drift better in the drift mode. In race it only kicks in when the front looses traction... So always with 500hp
Focus is known for that. Even the ST which is FWD will step the tail out some when you push it. Lift oversteer can get a little too exciting if you're not careful.
Respect for taking it to Misha to rag around the ring but let's be real that's probably a 450-470bhp car tops. 767nm torque is imaginary also. Hope you both enjoyed the lap mate, looks like you had a blast!
I had a 2015 Focus ST for years, it was a fantastic car. I wish they still sold them in the states. I ended up getting a G80 M3 with a manual transmission but I probably would have purchased a new Focus RS if they still sold them here.
These suffer from.stock radiators, a lot of people dont upgrade them because it doesn't improve power. Msd is one of the best tuners on the ford scene too, usually very reliable numbers. Ive never been round the ring in mine so cant compare speeds to my msd400 but it didnt seem miles faster than mine. Theyre a very linear power band mind you
Im on the mountune radiator and it did a lot, oil temps are near impossible to control even with twin oil coolers mounted in the fog lights, made the switch to an RS3 and thats been better
MSD are one the best UK tuners for these. Got my tuned with them via a COBB Access Port, brilliant tune. If this car lacks one, it really benefits from a Setrab front mount oil cooler, HEL sell them. They roll quite a bit without stiffening too, anti roll bars and drop links and a strut brace which i see in the back. Polybushing helps a lot on the MK3 Focus and MK7 Fiesta too.
I’m sure about two things, the first that this car is a monster, I love it, and second thing is that with steering in wrong position Misha, like all people drive a little bit less than his possibility and so could go more faster than here

I could clearly see the acceleration getting stronger with each upshift. definitely 500HP as it had also not problems with the uphill section other then getting a little to hot with the temps.

Awesome video! Unfortunately, eco boost motors heat up quite fast then it goes on “limp mode” :( Surprisingly for a high HP setup, it held pretty well!
I loved the gearbox on these cars. If you are in any gear in a corner and showing more than 3000rpm it will pull hard and rev out nicely to the next gear. Stock seats to tall - kinda awkward if you are a big guy. Takes some getting used to. Best daily driver I know of.

Cool car but not 500hp. I guess it’s around 350. I do similar or even higher speeds with my stock M240i like end of Döttinger Höhe, brake point Flugplatz, etc.
I am NOT a Ford guy but I do love it when a fast Ford tears up GT3's, M3's and AMG's. Like a pumped scrappy chav running rings around the posh boys. Love it! 👍
The only proper fast RS mk 3’s are tuned by Sabre IMO, this car just doesn’t seem as fast as the power figures suggest? Although there are big power losses through the 4wd trans, Only my opinion though. Still looks like a crazy fun car though 👏🏻
I wanted to buy one of those so bad a few years ago, just couldn’t find one at a reasonable price that didn’t have a ton of miles on it. I opted to by a new 23 Elantra N, and while I’m happy with the car, there isn’t much aftermarket support for it, al least not yet. That Focus RS looks like an absolute riot!!
Hey @mgcharoudin, you said that you like the oversteer but maybe you can try sportsmode instead of circuitmode to give it a more neutral feel? You can activate/deactivate the harder damper setting in any mode pressing and holding the button on the indicator.
That's a manual AWD car for you. Dint forget he's off throttle for at least 10% of that straight and theres a lot of drive train losses in an AWD system

@@lvhle04 yes very true. He also said he'd mapped the diff. I'm assuming this is via a carloop. And with a carloop you can only send even more torque to the rear wheels. This probably won't affect the 2% over speed but still limits the torque to the slower axle
That makes 0 sense. Why would the tear slide if it wasn't getting power? The RS awd is predictive, not reactive. It was sliding because it was over speeding the rear wheel(s)

Yeah the suspension setup looks really sketchy. I can't quite put my finger on what's wrong but it definitely should be a bit more balanced through the corners

It more than likely is over 500 crank. Thing about the mk3 rs is they require a bit of power to wake them up, its the weight that kills these, and the power loss of the awd system.
Nice! Alot of comments about it not being 500hp, it probably is the eco boost engines are notoriously not that quick for the power figures this ones definitely pulls well. People used to seeing golf R’s S3, m140i etc with 500 which are noticeably quicker, this ones more engaging, I’d imagine it’s a tad less with heat soak on the ring and a good trashing so it’s around 480-500

There is now way this car has > 500hp. It looks more like 380-400HP at best. Like on AutoTopNL where 90% of all the tuned Fords claim to have 430HP+ but are as fast as a stock MK8 R 100-200. Of course it has Aero, but still. The RS is a great car, don't know where the point is of claiming those numbers.
The one thing I respect about you MIsha, is you push the limits on the physics of the car, and aren't there to race the other cars.

@Ron1nAirsoft i have millers oil in mine and even pushing really hard, highest ive seen is 101 on oil. radiators are for coolant temps

It would have to be fully built. But you can see it’s no where near 500hp.

Not feeling the 500+ hp, considering other similar stated hp cars maybe 350 max! 600+ nm should really back in ya seat territory
Its definetly 500hp if u listen at the start the guy says max torque and power hits usually in 4-5 gear beacuse its limited so it wont destroy the transmission

There is now way this car has > 500hp. It looks more like 380-400HP at best. Like on AutoTopNL where 90% of all the tuned Fords claim to have 430HP+ but are as fast as a stock MK8 R 100-200.
Of course it has Aero, but still. The RS is a great car, don't know where the point is of claiming those numbers.
