    Now if somebody would make it three or four speed transmission that would be awesome.

      Hold my beer. Im either putting a 80cc quad engine with tranny in my mini bike or I'm cutting off the tranny, plating the open end, and using it separately where my jackshaft used to be.

      There’s no place to put it on be best would just to change the motor mounts and put a 110 engine in jt

      Yep cut the rod off a 2 stroke motor and put a sprocket on the crank shaft wherr the magneto goes and now you have a chain drive transmission

    Thanks for the video! I sent them an email and they only make it for engines with a 3/4 inch shaft, but suggested that I could make a spacer (adapter) for use with a 5/8 shaft. This thing is amazing... So you do not need any other gear reduction other than the sprocket on the engine and wheel... That seems to simple.

    It has a scrub brake. I actually lost brakes on a bug cruise we had and the decompression of the motor with the clutch out really helped slow me down!

      what exactly are the jackshafts for ? To center the motor more on the bike and/or to have the option of which side of the tire you want to run your chain and sprocket?

      That's called a scrub brake. They came standard on alot of vintage bikes. This bike is a 1964.

    @scottbrodie3071 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice bike, we have a sears roper with the same style scrub brake, do you think it’s possible use the scrub brake lever with this clutch instead of the handle lever for clutch I ask cause we’re maxed out on handle bar space with front and rear brake levers but could possibly use the scrub brake lever without brake pad as clutch lever like to know what you think? Thanks SB

      I got this clutch on my mini bike and the lever don’t matter. Their site has multiple cable sizes plus you don’t need a clutch specific. The cable runs to the clutch and is attached by a set screw. Squeeze the handle and it just rotates part of the clutch letting it engage and disengage. Hope that helps

  • @nuvey7939
    @nuvey7939 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    42mph? So you're running aprox 6:1? I ran 6:1 with an auto clutch and it works great. I have a 7:1 minibike as well, and it works wonderfully. Quite powerful

  • @ChristopherJones16
    @ChristopherJones16 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Might be a stupid question but can these be used in combo with a torque converter because if so that could get rid of that putting in the lower speeds.

    • @MurderPete379
      @MurderPete379 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can add teeth to it to make it a tad faster if he’s seeing 42 he could put a 14 tooth on and see 55 but I haven’t seen a 14 tooth 35 which I have which I might just go with the 12 because i see the same speeds.

    I have a question. If I wanted to switch from a centrifugal max torque clutch to a manual clutch would I have to move the engine for the sprockets to line up with the driven sprocket? Or will the sprocket on the manual clutch stick out the same distance as the centrifugal mtc

    • @E46TY
      @E46TY 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Leo D i am planning on going from a max torque to this manual and the sprocket seems to be about the same distance from the engine because there is a spacer with the manual clutch that keeps the sprocket from being RIGHT up against the engine

    • @1000travisz
      @1000travisz  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They stick out the same distance. Sorry for the late response!

    • @1000travisz

I want to know if it is possible to push the bike and hop on it and go, or if i really need some type of clutch.

    • @1000travisz
      @1000travisz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Olivier Beucken you really need a clutch, you can find them on ebay for around 15 bucks.

    • @E46TY
      @E46TY 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Olivier Beucken no. You have to have some sort of clutch because the output shaft is always spinning therefore as soon as you start the bike it will take off. A standard centrifugal clutch which does all the work for you is about $20-$35. I have a MaxTorque clutch ( nice clutch) and it was $35+ shipping. Go check out GoPowerSports.com

      I bet you could make a two wheel in the rear minibike. one wheel would be an idler, then the other wheel continuously driven on a swingarm that you lower to the ground when you want to take off.

    So it’s not for shifting gears? Just for releasing the clutch? That’s cool can you do this to any mini bike motor? I went for a ride on a buddy’s mini bike with a auto clutch but it felt wierd not having a clutch I didn’t like not having that light weight feeling when you pull in the clutch plus with a clutch it’s easier to do wheelies but the only pocket bikes iv seen with a clutch are those super pocket bikes and I can’t find a legit site to get one all the sites have bad reviews and look shady
