I like to put two sprockets on the rear with a spacer between them and use a front mountain bike derailleur to switch between the two, and then I use a spring-loaded chain tensioner under the lower part of chain
Wow! Back in 68 we had a mini bike with an automatic clutch. The Briggs was hinged at the frame with pulleys and a belt. There was a flat bar bolted to the head that went through a slot attached to the frame and a notch to engage. It went pretty good for what it was.
I honestly just use a v-belt clutch like a lawnmower has. I treat mine like a car and it basically responds like a car. Built 724cc twin has no issues putting 50+ hp thru a proper belt setup. 😎 Belts are way cheaper to.
i'm a bit late but got anymore details on how you set it up? i'm having issues with mine breaking things, it's putting out around 50ftlbs of torque and just breaks the key ways on the clutch everytime i rip it
Any chance you can do a Dyno run on the the Wildcat 223 ...with and without the limiting coil......tillotson made an update to the tct carb...called the TFB...just saying.Peace.
If you are on asphalt or concrete that has no debris, and proper gearing: it is possible. I played with it, just dragged the mini bike around more than anything, scraping up the rear tire. Killing engine while going then reengaging the clutch makes the bike skid in an unstable way. Fun with the kart though.
Hey man, I bought a BT200 this summer and have a question about the tolerance for the driveshaft play. How much is too much? Mine has a noticeable amount and I think I can hear it shimmying around when it's running (if it's not the torque converter clutch mechanism) I did change the crankshaft out for a 3/4, but it had this play even with the OE one too. Any insight would be great. Thanks!
Totally off subject but don't you have a plasma cutter or laser table you can program cut on? The reason I ask is Judson made a supercharger for vw's back in the day that is a fairly simple design that could easily be scaled and fabricated with said machine.
There is no slipping this clutch like you do with every other clutch. It’s a toggle switch. No such thing as a slow, non-aggressive take off from a stop. If you don’t want to stall it you have to rev it up pretty high and dump the clutch for a hard drag race style launch, giving even more throttle as you start moving. Definitely not for beginners and not really for pit bikes for cruising the camp site or passing around among your friends to ride around the yard. Such a shame, I wish there were something available that engages smooth like a common dirt bike, motorcycle or quad clutch. Build quality is good though and it looks cool. And you totally can bump start/roll start it.
There should be a 1"-shaft version, that can handle the load of 23+ horsepower and about 600-lbs of weight. (Me, on a 625-cc mini-bike built to support my "girth"...!😕)
No doubt its a great product. Not practical for the average enthusiast. Cant beat Juggernaut on a 30 series tav. GPS just needs to get a 40 series jugger ricky tick.
The juggernaut is based off the comet 780 drive clutch, my point is obviously your engine has a 1" crankshaft therefore just run a 780 setup. I have both the 40 series and 780 series torque converters and I've had less issues and more reliability and belt longevity from the 780 torque converter.
Not with 19-20" wheels and non-built engine without improved cam and good low end torque. I would see a danger in stalling out at the wrong time. Other drivers may not see you properly or know how to react to you. I've seen enough with full sized motorcycles I'd always recommend something out there that has less chance to put someone in a position of danger.
Ditto. Just checked back in tonight after 7 or 8 months. I loved this channel. Hope he's on to bigger and better.... but not much bigger . Gotta keep it mini right.
Whoa, what happened to this channel? I hope that you are alright. I know you had brain surgery so I'm quite concerned. I hope that you are well, my friend. I really wish families would give a status of situations. I've seen it before with a bushcraft channel. The only way that I found out that the creator had passed on was from another bushcraft channel. Please let us know. This way we can give our proper condolences is to know. Otherwise, we are left with questions. I know that this can be incredibly difficult. So, I just don't know how to feel. I hope you ALL are well. Much love 🙁
Your videos are greatly improved without the Daarth Vader thing. It was hilarious but it messed with both the sound and pace of your speech. Roll it out for effect. It’s unique? I am not entirely sure so get ready for 100K replies if I’m wrong.
Hey man, i miss your content you got me into minibikes n now i love em
Nice manual clutch setup! Will be sweet to have a drift kart!

doubt it

Yep, getting one for my race motor for Motorized Bicycle, ggz-👽👍🚲💥💨💨💨
Holy cow you were flying
Bro you know how long I been looking for a actual review about em , I’m bouta order one
Great video! I gotta get me one of these, would be super fun on a little light drift kart with front brakes
Man I miss this channel.
After having one for 3, or 4 years, the biggest problem I had was the bearing going out on the output sprocket.
The ONLY issue I see is relocating my hydraulic brake lever. Either one would be weird on the throttle side.
I know My hydra brake is on the left side, I have been mulling this clutch.

Good for dumping the clutch. 😅.
Missed you, like seeing you instead of the talking helmet, good content
*Bink* Excellent review, well done Video production !

Ru going to make a video anytime soon. Did you quit? I hope not. I sure miss your videos in my feed.
Can you bump start with it? Might be cool for a Lemans style start.

my grandfather took a old clutch basket off a dirt bike and made it fit on my mini-bike back in 1975
Huh, ships to Canada. Maybe i will put this on my moped.

Shoot for between .01 and .02. Lean towards .01 side of things.

Do you press the clutch in and it goes or you let go of it and then it engages?
Awesome I've always wondered about these 🤙👍
How do you think it would work on a 12 inch mini bike tire and a 4 to 1 gear ratio
🤘🤘 I have one of these chillin on the shelf
I've found out recently that a LOT of people have one, but haven't started using it yet. Very common lol
This and a peerless transmission is what im looking to put on my minibike!

I agree they should make a 1in version
Bing! Good details, thank you
Now you gotta try the kart out! ;)
@@megoingfast oh yes
Wish they made it for a 420 chain or gave you the option up front.
I was saying the same thing
@@evanharris584 Hey, I just started making 420 sprockets and should have a full shipment in 10 days. The website options will be updated soon.

Would you recommend for street-legal Coleman ct200ex with 212

@@megoingfast well thank you
Can I run it without a spacer
Yep...I want that really bad
I have one for sale.

Yes, you can use the clutch to bump start.
You still alive, my dude?
What happened to his videos? I need videos in 2023!
No helmet on? I don't recognize you Lol'
Yeah! hahah! I'm free! Had enough things line up I "no longer need the protection" ;) and I get to have freedom of speech associated to my face. :D
