- Ukázka jízdní dynamiky a maximální rychlosti Honda CRF1100 Africa Twin v Německu na dálnici (kde jsou tyto rychlosti naštěstí ještě legální). Rozjezd je mírně přes kopec. Bylo mokro, proto opatrnější rozjezd. Pro porovnání je možné sledovat na mobilu i rychlost měřenou podle GPS. Na zkoušeném stroji byly osazeny oba boční Alu kufry + Top Case (jak je vidět na začátku videa). Výška jezdce 184 cm, váha s helmou a motohadry kolem 105 kg.

Rozdíl tachometr vs. GPS je normální. Japonci mají většinou vyšší rozdíl. Třeba BMW je relativně přesné. Ve finále je vcelku jedno, jestli je to 190 nebo 205 - stejně úplnou maximálkou člověk běžně nejezdí ani v Německu, kde se to ještě smí 👍
@@pavelk. Jo to urcite. Kazdopadne maximalni rychlost je treba vyzkouset alespon jednou. A myslim, ze overeni presnosti se taky hodi kdyz clovek pak muze projet kolem kamery trebas 96km/h a vi, ze je to furt pod 90 a nedostane flastr. Kor kdyz je clovek na ture na par tydnu a chce se nekam dostat.

its normal called deviation, maybe its for safety, the manufacturer increase the speed in speedometer so the rider/driver didnt really breaching speed limit

...do těch 10% je to vcelku normální. Je pravda, že Hondy proměřují většinou trochu víc, ale jak píšeš - je to vcelku jedno, je to jen číslo a 200 s tím stejně pojede člověk maximálně v Německu.
@@pavelk. je to premerrni vic nez jine moto co jsem mel (treba yamaha klasika jak auta, tak o 6km).Ale je to kazdopadne schvalne, protoze kdyz na dalnici seknu 150km/h tempomat, vymazu palubni pc, tak za chvili se mi zobrazi prumerna rychlost 137km/h. Takze data to dostava presna....spis jen pro zajimavost.
ON some Metric bikes the speedometers are set on average 6 mph over actual speed ! I believe this is done to give us riders a cushion.

This isn't the case on only some "metric" bikes, this is literally the case on ALL bikes that could be registered in the EU.
That's because it's impossible to create a speedometer that's perfectly accurate in any situation and there's EU regulation that speedometer offset to actual speed must be between 0 km/h and 4 km/h + 10%.
Digital speedometers essentially calculate your speed by multiplying wheel spin (or rather transmission speed) by estimated tire circumference to get distance travelled, then dividing by their polling interval.
Analog speedometers are just magnets that get spun around more the higher voltage applies. The more wheelspin, the higher the voltage, the more the magnet gets turned. This also maps rotational speed directly to a driven speed, essentially encoding a tire circumference estimate into it.
Both methods also assume optimal slip.
But since we don't all use the same tires on the same bikes in the same weather on the same streets, there's some variance to it.
Tire circumference gets affected by tire shape, tire wear, even tire temperature, as that affects slip, and the surface you ride on. All of those will affect the legitimacy of the reading you get from your transmission speed sensor.
So to prevent going UNDER the 0 km/h offset minimum and displaying a speed lower than your actual speed, manufacturers either overestimate tire circumference, or they add a flat value or a percentage value (or both) on top, to make sure they will stay above the actual speed.
So, yeah, this isn't exactly for "safety reasons", it's just to make absolutely sure they stay above actual speed.
Also fun fact: all bikes are metric in this regard.
Digital tachometers use SI units to do their calculation, displaying mph instead of km/h isn't an intrinsic thing in the display, it's a conversion from the metric readout.
Also analog tachometers are made by calculating with SI units, the engineers will use m/s for their calculations then just print a sticker with a mph conversion and slap it on there.

Why 20 km/h difference?
Most motorcycle speedos show 10% more. The GPS shows actual real speed.

All Japanese car and motorbike do this in Japan all car have on speedometer 180km/h.... Japanese government rules don't know why

@0:23, at 179km/h GPS speed, the bike speedo is marking 201km/h?!!!! That's not normal it's too much of a gap! If it was me I would calibrate that at the dealer! A normal speedometer must have a difference between 5 to 10 %, over that is too much.
Obecně je odchylka do +10% normální a "přidává" většina výrobců. Konkrétně u @0:23, at 179km/h GPS je ten rozdíl způsoben hlavně zpožděním GPS. U toho hraje roli spousta faktorů (počet satelitů, ale také rovina nebo sklon silnice) - čili GPS má smysl primárně na porovnání výsledku v té maximální (pokud možno ustálené) rychlosti (ideálně na vodorovné silnici).

Specifically at @0:23, at 179km/h GPS, the difference is mainly caused by the GPS delay. There are a lot of factors (number of satellites, but also the plane or slope of the road) - that is, GPS makes sense primarily to compare the result at the maximum (preferably steady) speed (ideally on a horizontal road).

What is big boys? I only have a moderately, um yeah, modified 2010 VMAX and 2020 Kaw H2 (not H2R). I guess “big boys” start with the H2R or twin turbo GSXR1000?
Wow, it sucks to cut at 200 km/h, it had to be at least 250. An MT 03 does this and only has around 42 hp, the Africa Twin has almost 100 hp if I'm not mistaken, regrettable. ☹️

Stále přemýšlím, jestli koupit tohle nebo BMW GSko. Kluci, poraďte mi prosím. :D
To záleží na využití. Jestli s tím chceš jezdit i v terénu a jak dobře jsi se učil (kolik na to máš v prasátku našetřeno). GS bude vždy dražší. Byl jsem teď na představení nového GS 900 a 1300. Ta 900 se mi líbila snad i víc - proti 850 je to vyšší a víc do terénu. Na 1300 mi přijde zvláštní to světlo s radarem nad ním. Africa i ATAS má na příští sezónu taky nějaké novinky. Stejně musíš vyrazit k dealerům a sednout si na to a projet se. Podle toho co ti víc sedne, tak vybrat. To ti žádná recenze nerozhodne.

I have a 2020 africa twin crf1100 adventure sports dct es, iv had it 215kmh and still had more revs to go, it also got there Alot faster than yours 🤔
My height + weight + cases and the highway in this section is slightly uphill
Adventure sports have tubeless wheels,so is possible to have better top speed.The standard L version have tube wheels and the maximum allowed top speed must be 190 km/h or below.I think there is a top speed electronic regulator for that model from Honda.
