I jump barefoot on a tiled floor and yes, it stings if the rope hits you, but more incentive to get your technique down 😂

    • @gohjohan
      @gohjohan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Yeah, it does hurt but I think the main incentive for me was to get the correct rope length, my rhythm and then everything fell into place. I still trip but now I have learn to get control and I don't trip as often as I used to.

I learned to jump in socks only in a gym with some plastic mat on it. It was challenging, but I learned how to jump fast. I did play basketball and was fit, so I didn’t experience any pain other than hitting myself with the leather rope.

Jumping rope barefoot (with socks on) has made it much easier for me to get more jumps in before I tangle. With shoes I tangle every 50 jumps, without shoes I tangle every 150-200 jumps

Not gonna lie, I was like “oh shit” when I saw the title. I always jump rope barefoot 🤣 I thought you were gonna tell us we shouldn’t. I do jump on rubber mats and I’ve never had any problems. My knees are not the best and jumping barefoot is fine for me.

Started last year during lockdown so never bothered with shoes. Tried with shoes recently and can’t find my rhythm at all.
Only ever done it on tiled or concrete floor, never on a mat.
Never experienced any issues but also don’t know why I never tried a mat before lol
Edit: hate when the rope slams into my foot and gets stuck between my small toe 😂

I'm at the beginning of my weight loss journey, and for the last couple of weeks, I've been using a weighted jump rope, and I am on concrete and barefoot. I am easing into the amount of time I jump, still less than 100 jumps a day. My feet feel fine, except for right behind my right big toe, along the arch, it's a little sore and tight, so I'm stretching the toe, and massaging the areas that are slightly hurting. I am barefoot all day, and its easier for me to get quick workouts in at home doing it barefoot.

Careful guys! I made the mistake of jumping in my barefoot shoes on concrete… top of foot pain that is improving but it’s still a set back and I’m still not 100% sure it’s just going to heal. Mind you I’m 255lb so this was just very dumb of me.
Again be careful especially big people!

I hate to wear shoes in general and especially when I workout but the times I have jumped barefoot for any significant amount of time feel fine at the time but the next day my feet (mainly arches) and calves are destroyed and I can barely walk.
I stopped for a while (a covid eternity) and am just getting back into it and jumping with (running) shoes I still feel pain in my feet and wonder if that's just beginners pain, if I need new shoes or a rubber mat like you have mentioned but I don't want to run out an make a big investment as I am also getting older😕 and I suspect that may have an effect too.

I did have a routine of doing a 10 minute emom workout of doing 10 push ups, 10 squats, and 5 banded rows on minute one. Then on minute 2 I do jump rope for 40s or until the timer ends. I woukd repeat this process for 5 rounds or 10 minutes in total. I can modify this workout to doing 10 rounds or 20 minutes of this exact workout if my mood allows for it.

I'm not sure, I always jump in athletic shoes so that's what I'd recommend.

@@JumpRopeDudes i get it, but still feel like doing it barefoot. I tried doing it wearing shoes too but idk it is kinda fun doing it barefoot.

I've been doing skipping on barefoot since a year, trust me when it stings and it's another level pain 😂.

When I jump with shoes my feet hurt like hell and I can barely jump more than 30s at a time before having to rest. Barefeet I can jump up to 5min and don't have any pain at all

sounds like you need to get out of those shoes and look at xeros or vivos.

    Answer me something honestly.
When did you last changed your rope? Everything from handle to rope etc.

When using a mat to protect your ropes - - Crossrope ropes last a LONG time.
