  • Grafting avocado trees is fun and rewarding. Avocados are some of the healthiest fruit you can eat, and they are so expensive at the store. Why not grow them at home? You can get fruit faster and tastier with grafting. Like and Subscribe!
Varieties I grafted onto this tree are Nimlioh, Nabal, Jan Boyce, Hellen and Kona Sharwil. These varieties are special and rare, and they should be preserved and spread to the masses. They are delicious, unique, and deserve more recognition. Now that this grafting project is complete, these 4 varieties are growing on this tree, and all of them have different characteristics. They all mature at different times of the year, giving me an extended avocado season!
Contact me at AJSGARDEN123@gmail.com if you want a grafted tree like the one in this video! I have a mobile grafting service for folks in my area. I graft all sorts of fruit trees, including Avocados, Apples, Pears, Figs, Lemons, Limes, Oranges, Tangerines, Stone Fruits (Peaches, Apricots, Plums, etc.), Mulberries, Mangoes, Cherimoyas, Pomegranates, Persimmons, Jujubes, and Grapes. I also do pruning, tree planting, and yard consultations!

I wanna see you get your hands on the Oro Negro variety. The story of Hass is very interesting, “A man kept it as a root stock but it never took his grafts, so he let it grow out, he was going to remove the tree, but his daughter loved the taste so he kept it, patented it and sold the patent for only $5,000.”

Hi AJ. I like how I can scroll along the timeline of the video and you have labeled the different tasks at those moments in the video. I like how the branches are low on the rootstock plant - the Reed Seedling - and it seems as though it will make for lower scaffolding branches and you can prune it better to keep it low. That will be a popular tree. Thanks for the video. And your Jan Boyce scion being an "A" type flowering tree will help to pollinate the the Nimlioh, Sharwil, Nabal, and Hellen scions which are all "B" type scions. If the Reed seedling is like its parent, you will have another "A" type scion to help the cause. How do you keep the camera so steady for the videos? Are you using your phone or a camera? - Neal in Anaheim

Fantastic video and explanation, thank you. One question - do the grafted branches then keep their own variety's growth characteristics? What I mean is if you graft a larger tree variety onto a smaller variety, will that branch grow more vigorously than the host tree and have to be pruned more often? Thank you.
