Yes. Great camera. Glad Sony finally added an ext mic jack. Just wish it had an f1.8 -2.8 zoom & internal ND filter like it’s predecessor. Guess you can’t have everything.
Are you a brother? I am Italian and some of the photos and videos made me understand this. However very nice camera ... I'm waiting for the mark 8. Hopefully it will come out soon .....
@@DamianBrown Fine thanks. Yesterday we resumed having our face-to-face meetings with a "pilot" program. Thrilling! Where do you live? England? How is the Covid situation there?
Sony will probably drop the price soon. The Samsung and the iPhone are getting really good at making great point and shoot. The iPhone 11 is getting great reviews.
Can u share with me how to enable eye tracking on video? The little green box that track my eye. I used to have that on my RX100 VII, however, after i tampered with my settings, the green box (eye tracking) just disappeared.
Another much appreciated video, thank you. If Sony could be arsed to fit a usable hand grip they might be able to fit a larger battery. Speaking of which, I think the current battery provides a reasonable output, I just wish it would give more warnings before it packs up. I've had my mVII three months now and appreciate it more every time I use it. The IQ is remarkable for a 1" sensor and A3 prints look as good from this camera as they do from my Fuji.
I just bought this camera and I am struggling to get a nice crisp image. When I review the images and zoom in they look like they were shot with a 8 megapixel camera. Any ideas on what I can do to improve
Nice work. I agree the s&q feature is not worth it. I don’t want to take all those pics move to post and create. The old paid for app was so much better. I am still going back and forth on the this camera vs iPhone. 11. Sony wins in lower light.
Dunno. Small sensor, high price, slow lens and worst of all, it's a Sony. Not sure who this is meant for. Non-serious photographer is probably not going to go for it for it being too advanced and expensive, while a pro or enthusiastic photographer will probably like to use something with higher caliber. Something with a bit more oomph. Something more bokehlicious. Thinking more about it, I just don't like compact cameras and for me, the question 'What is the best compact camera?' is like asking me what method of execution I'd prefer. None, of course. But, that's just me. Cheers!
They keep makin' them so somebody is buying :D I guess there's something for everybody these days mind. Personally wouldn't spend this either but I don't mind the thing at all.
@@DamianBrown You're right, someone is surely buying them. I'm surprised, actually. The point-and-shoot market is said to be diminished by phone cameras, and yet there are so many of them still. Which is great. I hate to see the camera market diminished in any way. I'm a little worried about the fate of DSLRs since the big duo (Canon, Nikon) is obviously changing priority to mirrorless.

This camera is for those, who need small compact but better than phone camera. For example I love cycling and taking photos, but in some cases phone camera just isn't good enough and having something like Fuji X-T2 would be somewhat cumbersome, although I could use backpack, but in such cases I typically carry my drone. Sony RX100 VII seems like a good although very pricey compromise (the price is the only stopping factor for me)
No, the best compact digital camera are the Sony RX100VA, because the VA have larger apertures and in most cases you do not need the long focal length the VII have.
@@DamianBrown yes I know what you mean but the new leaked information are showing great optical zoom up to 10 X on the S11 + (plus 100 X hybrid zoom). Which might be ok for my use case.
It has a crappy tiny 1" sensor with limited dynamic range, a world's worst menu structure and poorly designed controls. Great shame as the inclusion of an APS-C sensor would help a lot as would a designer from Fuji. Until both happen count me out...
I've had mine for a couple of months now and it quickly became my go to camera. Take it with me everywhere.

The 'Best Camera Ever' is the one you hold in your hands and which gives you that unique feeling.
Everything else is Marketing.
Even that phrase became marketing for Mr Jarvis :)
Great shots .

All point and shoot cameras are dead just like dslr
I've seen loads of p+s and dslr cameras that are very much alive and useable
snapit happy try it AF and tracking.
The best phones still suck compared to the rx100 cameras unless all you do is post to IG with it

I haven't got the camera now sorry! Can anybody help. It's in the menu there in focusing somewhere.

Yesssssss :)
USB-C is a big deal. We're going into 2020 and it's one thousand dollars with a 4K crop smh.

Larger aperture is always my preference!
The g7x ii or 3 for that matter, pale in comparison to the Sony in IQ, and worse in AF where the Canons are simply pathetic.
Hahaha 2.8??? You want it to be rx10 ii size then???
I think the new Samsung galaxy S11 + will probably have better sensors lol and more cameras more features to like USB C.
Try zooming with a phone cam
The new Samsung sensor is likely to to be three quarters the size of this Sony.
