To my mind, the most distinctive keyboard interpreter Bach has had since Yudina, Tureck and Gould. Certainly one of the most audacious and most directly moving. The drive he gives this French Overture, the sheer sonority of it, the way he speeds up the return of the fugue... like a force of nature yet deliberate and absolutely logical. It grabs one immediately by the thoat and robs one of all speech, but also challenges expectations and convinces the intelligence at every turn.... How anyone can compare him to Pletnev or Barenboim, musical mannerists and technique-mongers boring as museum exhibits, is completely beyond me.
I never herad Tudine but I hadf de inmense pleasure to meet Rosaklyn TurecK and her Bach playing was exactly perfect. Much of Gould also, specailly in his younger recordings. Sokolov do not reach such levels and I prefere him playiong Beethoven

BEST TEXT EVER ABOUT SOKOLOV-BACH , MELITONGUE, YOU THE MAN!
@@joangarcia-alsina2932 "Sokolov do not reach such levels"... Lol. You perhaps meant: "Sokolov does not reach...". Anyways, he is *at least* on the level of the pianists you name. And yes, his style is different.
@@jansnauwaert1785 Thank you for the correction.
I agree. Never heard such an interpretation.

I was totally not expecting him to speed up for the second round. Amazing!
Величайший русский пианист! Очень удивило отсутствие комментариев соотечественников. AntonioDGO большое Вам спасибо за предоставленную возможность насладиться творчеством Григория Соколова.

Master of arts. Amazing.
현존하는 세계 최고의 피아니스트 그리고리 소콜로프. 이렇게 피아노건반을 나비같이 날아다니는것처럼 쉽게 치는 사람은 처음이다.
공감합니다
Genial, beautiful
This is some of the most amazing piano playing I've ever seen. The control of the dynamics, the phrasing and bringout out all the voices are just beautiful. I've probably listened to this a couple of dozen times.
No words to describe.
He has a complete understanding of Bach. Sokolov is now the master. How fortunate we are.
There are no sufficient adjective superlative to express my admiration of Grigory Sokolov and particularly when he interpretes Bach let me without breath
Simply brilliant. Enchanting. How talented can a man be!
Sokolov´s performances are always mesmerizing and almost divine.
Радуйтесь, за все благодарите , непрестанно молитесь ...❤
