Only discrepancy I noticed that was when she was on a South Korean show her name tag says 박예주 Pak Yae Chu but she goes by Park Yeonmi 박연미. But it is pretty common for Koreans to unofficially change their names for brief periods especially for talk shows.
I remember hearing her story about how she and her mother were brutalized, and how she was made into a sex slave at 13 years old under the belief that it was the only way to save her family. It's so upsetting. She's very brave to be so public and outspoken about how life truly is in North Korea, especially given that she could be putting her life in danger as a result.

Eh, I haven’t gone through hardships personally, but I’ve seen and heard many people go through hardships. Below are some gruesome recent examples of what has happened to some people who went through some form of hardship. This one kid that was on MasterChef Junior, his father killed his mother and then himself. Afterwards, like several years later, the kid got cancer and died. Like… that is so depressing. Poor kid. If people could give their life to someone else, I guarantee someone would’ve given a life to this kid. He was truly great. This girl recently, she’s like 5, got shot in the neck and just barely survived. Barely. I was shocked she survived. But she’s paralyzed and seemingly hasn’t realized she may never move again. It was such a sad sight. I cried so much at her story. This one girl, she was disabled and her father killed her mother and then her while she was screaming. That’s it, but it was such a brutal and disturbing murder. I think he used a hammer or something. And the judge gave such an emotional statement talking about how gruesome the attack was, and that there was this cute sign on the fridge that something like,” be kind” or something, and blood was splattered all over it. Very sad case. There are of course many homeless children, many abused children, many people who have developed various addictions to drugs, etc., and those things are all, imo, a hardship. Hell, in the coming years, we will see more North Korean defectors who have suffered. There are tons of examples that are probably never going to be well known. It’s just such a large blanket statement to say a whole generation of people don’t know hardship. I don’t like to compare suffering, I’m just saying that they will have felt hardship too, and that they may even have a similar story to her considering she also is a North Korean defector.

The threat to her life is very real. I thought that point was regarded a bit too lightly by the host. She is a very strong and brave woman who deserves protection and regard. I made a comment on a previous YT video by Yeonmi Park thanking a man who offered to come help her with the manual labor of packing the copies of her books ordered online into shipping boxes to be mailed so she could spend her time on tasks requiring intelligence. Then a North Korean internet troll popped up and said that book should not be distributed widely because it was full of lies and exaggerations. I find it disturbing that if she knows she is at serious risk of being assassinated, that she actually gave so much information about her location in the background... I read her story and seen videos of her talking about her escape from north korea. One day she might be able to keep her stories straight. She has a habit of changing key parts every time she yaps in from of people. Most people tend to remember things like their parents deaths etc… in her stories they always change.
At the bottom of the issue is a conflict of interest--she, and other NK defectors, have a financial stake in fabricating or exaggerating their experiences because the conservative market of speakers will pay more for sensational stories. Unless they find a way to crosscheck and verify their own claims, I'm always taking their words with plenty grains of salt.
Everyone knows the old saying "You shouldn't Judge a book by it;s cover etc...." True as it may , BUT, Just couldn't help noticing how fake her overall persona/presentation is ......... I read her story and seen videos of her talking about her escape from north korea. One day she might be able to keep her stories straight. She has a habit of changing key parts every time she yaps in from of people. Most people tend to remember things like their parents deaths etc… in her stories they always change.
At the bottom of the issue is a conflict of interest--she, and other NK defectors, have a financial stake in fabricating or exaggerating their experiences because the conservative market of speakers will pay more for sensational stories. Unless they find a way to crosscheck and verify their own claims, I'm always taking their words with plenty grains of salt.
Everyone knows the old saying "You shouldn't Judge a book by it;s cover etc...." True as it may , BUT, Just couldn't help noticing how fake her overall persona/presentation is ......... Her rather expressive tones & tears, ... or she dressed up nicely and dolly/innocent look in that traditonal Korean outfit was rather ..... fake / trying tooooo hard perhaps etc..... that's because this girl story is a complete lie from beginning to end. I'm sure you question that or may I say do not believe that because as a human being we don't want to believe that anyone could make up such a horrific story. I get that. Believe me when I say that I mean that. I have to be honest as I listened to her speech she really sounded as though she practiced the speech over and over before she told it in front of an audience.
Yeonmi Park is just spreading propaganda at this point. She's doing it for the views, likes and ad-revenue only. Nowadays on her channel, you see videos that there is a random uprising in North Korea, random coup here, people are angry, etc. But when you search for the sources either there are no sources & evidence regarding her claims or she only has access to same "news sources"/rumours like we do (She's not living in NK anymore). She's repeating content, making false claims too. She's milking it as long as people keep giving her money. Next year she's going to add how they met Kim Jung Un and he helped them escape.

US media could claim something completely outrageous like North Koreans execute babies by feeding them to sharks with the only reference being an “anonymous source”, yet people will believe it all uncritically. And Totally much more plausible that the trillion dollars pumped in propaganda in the west are connected to that chick's shady bullshit stories. You'd say the exact same things if you were paid almost a million dollars to say made up bullshit about the DPRK.

Eh, I haven’t gone through hardships personally, but I’ve seen and heard many people go through hardships. Below are some gruesome recent examples of what has happened to some people who went through some form of hardship.
This one kid that was on MasterChef Junior, his father killed his mother and then himself. Afterwards, like several years later, the kid got cancer and died. Like… that is so depressing. Poor kid. If people could give their life to someone else, I guarantee someone would’ve given a life to this kid. He was truly great.
This girl recently, she’s like 5, got shot in the neck and just barely survived. Barely. I was shocked she survived. But she’s paralyzed and seemingly hasn’t realized she may never move again. It was such a sad sight. I cried so much at her story.
This one girl, she was disabled and her father killed her mother and then her while she was screaming. That’s it, but it was such a brutal and disturbing murder. I think he used a hammer or something. And the judge gave such an emotional statement talking about how gruesome the attack was, and that there was this cute sign on the fridge that something like,” be kind” or something, and blood was splattered all over it. Very sad case.
There are of course many homeless children, many abused children, many people who have developed various addictions to drugs, etc., and those things are all, imo, a hardship. Hell, in the coming years, we will see more North Korean defectors who have suffered.
There are tons of examples that are probably never going to be well known. It’s just such a large blanket statement to say a whole generation of people don’t know hardship.

There are a few extremely professional & extremely convincing acts compared to Ms Park's efforts. Many people are suspicious and think she might be just a pawn, and it happens a lot in America once you gather a huge number of followers on Twitter or TH-cam or whatever…
I read her story and seen videos of her talking about her escape from north korea. One day she might be able to keep her stories straight. She has a habit of changing key parts every time she yaps in from of people. Most people tend to remember things like their parents deaths etc… in her stories they always change.
At the bottom of the issue is a conflict of interest--she, and other NK defectors, have a financial stake in fabricating or exaggerating their experiences because the conservative market of speakers will pay more for sensational stories. Unless they find a way to crosscheck and verify their own claims, I'm always taking their words with plenty grains of salt.
Everyone knows the old saying "You shouldn't Judge a book by it;s cover etc...." True as it may , BUT, Just couldn't help noticing how fake her overall persona/presentation is ......... Her rather expressive tones & tears, ... or she dressed up nicely and dolly/innocent look in that traditonal Korean outfit was rather ..... fake / trying tooooo hard perhaps etc..... that's because this girl story is a complete lie from beginning to end. I'm sure you question that or may I say do not believe that because as a human being we don't want to believe that anyone could make up such a horrific story. I get that. Believe me when I say that I mean that. I have to be honest as I listened to her speech she really sounded as though she practiced the speech over and over before she told it in front of an audience.
Yeonmi Park is just spreading propaganda at this point. She's doing it for the views, likes and ad-revenue only. Nowadays on her channel, you see videos that there is a random uprising in North Korea, random coup here, people are angry, etc. But when you search for the sources either there are no sources & evidence regarding her claims or she only has access to same "news sources"/rumours like we do (She's not living in NK anymore). She's repeating content, making false claims too. She's milking it as long as people keep giving her money. Next year she's going to add how they met Kim Jung Un and he helped them escape.

US media could claim something completely outrageous like North Koreans execute babies by feeding them to sharks with the only reference being an “anonymous source”, yet people will believe it all uncritically. I made a comment on a previous YT video by Yeonmi Park thanking a man who offered to come help her with the manual labor of packing the copies of her books ordered online into shipping boxes to be mailed so she could spend her time on tasks requiring intelligence. Then a North Korean internet troll popped up and said that book should not be distributed widely because it was full of lies and exaggerations. I decided the best thing to do is ignore the comment like it never even happened. It is better for that comment to wither away from lack of attention than for me to respond in any way at all.

I find it disturbing that if she knows she is at serious risk of being assassinated, that she actually gave so much information about her location in the background... Considering what the 4chan community did to Shia Laboeuf's "he will not divide us" performance and how they found the location with much less data... Unless indeed, this prioritizing of the aesthetics is a hint that Y. Park is overstating how important she is in the eyes of the north korean dictator. And that is not the first time, for example when she did an interview with J. Peterson, where she proudly displays her 100k YT subs silver plate along with her books (which suggest it was either her home or nicely setup for the occasion), although there, you might only see a distorted reflection of the buildings outside.

14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
