Lifting weights is fine. But I believe that young men need to embrace physical activity in as many venues as possible. Look at the older men who are in shape and have never been to a gym. They cut grass, shovel snow, chop wood, walk everywhere, stand more, and carry more stuff. Young men yes lift weights but make moving a lifestyle. Stop sitting and eating crap.

I’ve seen clients who, when faced with their own aggressive tendencies, assumed they were simply “bad” people, instead of realizing it was how they were channeling their energy that mattered. Once we worked on redirecting that aggression toward personal growth and success, they began thriving. Your focus on using discipline and channeling masculine energy for good is exactly the kind of advice young men need to redefine their path. This video was truly inspiring!

Spiritually, masculine energy is simply energy that is to be EXPRESSED outward into the world. Well-adjusted humans (male, female, other) are a harmonious combination of BOTH masculine + feminine energy. Pedestalizing one over the other is counterproductive. We need BOTH of these energies to live successful and fulfilled lives. The imbalance is what's toxic. The use of any energy in low vibration is what's toxic. Think I might do a video sometime in the future further articulating what masculine energy is and how we might use it productively in our lives. Sounds like a wonderful series/conversation.

While i get what Robert is doing herein defining negative qualities of masculinity like boasting and so on, i would say that some of these people (if not a lot of them) are not insecure they are simply more self focused than others who have more empathy. It is possible to be very masculine and also be empathic, but similarly it is quite possible to be very masculine and not at all empathic. Like everything people's charateristics are on spectrums between one end of whatever you are looking at and the other.

    QUESTION ABOUT DISCIPLINE:
Hey Chris! Thank for share this interview! I appreciate a lot.
The Law 4 from 33 Strategy of War(The Death Ground) is the Law of the my life. The way how i learned English was exactly the way how Robert learned French. I moved from Brazil to USA and put me in a position where i didn`t have any option about my communication. I needed to learn. Was super hard but i did it.
But i believe that this Law is good until you reach a position that you are confortable and you become ok about that.
I am working with Sales right now and one thing that i noticed is about consistency. That`s my problem because i don`t believe in Discipline, i believe in Obsession.

By doing that as teenager it tranformed through the years to conflict avoidance. It doesn't matter if i can overpower somenone or I have all the right by my side, I feel really uncomfortable when someone insults me and my mind does not think of fighting back rather than how quickly can I avoid this situation with as little damage as possible. Problem #1 - There are no positive rolemodels because they are cancelled immediately by screaming harpies at every turn. Lets be honest please.
There is no longer and men spaces available for men by men. The Gym - gone, in its place a plausibly deniable spandex thirst trap, you know it, I know it.
Workplace banter - in its place, an over policed sterile environment devoid of creativity due to constant feigning offense to wield power over others and character assassination.
Video games - in its place, see the most recent "Concord" game.
Action movies - in its place, girl bosses.
Boys playing - in its place medication because they're considered defective girls.

Go to a smaller gym instead of a chain and see the same normal people you see at any gym; a few young lads crowded around the bench, some old dude still kicking it and a few women doing leg exercises. I don't recognize the thirst trap at all. Maybe this is very dependent on nation and the culture, but as a Western European dude in his 20s I don't think it's all that bad. Like always there's the good and the bad. I feel like your perspective is grounded in the internet and not in real life. Its called FORBEARANCE. Men have the power to conquer, to override to establish their will. Those who realize we have the power must also realize there are times that we must forbear in order to bring about a more positive outcome. This is WHY we talk about things before we go to WAR. Sometimes talking can resolve grievances rather than pay the price in blood & treasure. Men cannot act on emotion, rather rely on WISDOM to seek answers.
All that said: It is WISE for a MAN to be in control of his emotions and take care of HIS needs FIRST.
Then you are prepared to help others as you see fit and solve issues.
Forbearance: To refrain; abstain; to hold back.

I guess I'm lucky.... I never even thought about this topic simply because my father was a masculine and incredibly kind man. I think what the media has done (and it's usually women who want more power) to try and de-claw men has been horrible. Like in the 1980's, women in media said they wanted men to express their feelings more and even cry. Well guess what? Most women didn't like that (to a degree). They thought men who did this looked like sapping babies.
Men, be yourself. Alpha or Beta male. You'll be happier and find someone who appreciates all that you are. It's not rocket science.

A lot of men today have suboptimal levels of testosterone; a lot less than their fathers or grandfathers had just 30-50 years ago. There are various reasons for this. One factor that is oftentimes neglected is endocrine disruptors in our environment (i.e., xenoestrogens, BPA, phthalates, triclosan, etc.), phytoestrogens in food (i.e., soy, which is present in almost all processed foods), and hypothyroidism (subclinical or autoimmune Hashimoto's disease).
To increase testosterone levels naturally, including libido and erection quality, and reduce chronic inflammation:
    • Get enough daily sunlight.
    • Vitamin D3 (especially during the winter or if you live in a northern climate).
    • Zinc picolinate (20-40 mg per day).
    • Magnesium glycinate/citrate.
    • Resistance training (3-5 times per week for 45-90 minutes max).
    • Adequate neuromuscular recovery (e.g., don't overtrain).
    • Adequate (quality) sleep.
    • More healthy fats (monounsaturated and saturated fats from sources like grass-fed red meat, pasture-raised eggs, fatty fish, organic full-fat dairy, coconut fat, avocados, cocoa butter, certain nuts and seeds, etc.).
    • Increase dietary cholesterol intake through nutrient-dense, whole foods. Cholesterol is the building block of all steroid hormones, including androgens such as testosterone.
    • Manage stress. Do what you have to do to keep it under control (i.e., meditation, yoga, nature walks, relaxing music, massage/reflexology sessions, adaptogenic herbs, etc.).
    • Chronically elevated cortisol levels disrupt the HPT (hypothalamus-pituitary-testicles) axis and deplete your body of the very resources it needs to produce androgens like testosterone and DHT.
    • Eat enough quality calories (not all calories are the same!).
    • Avoid large or prolonged calorie deficits.
    • Eat adequate amounts of each macronutrient (protein, carbs, fats). All of them are important in their own way and serve specific physiological functions.
    Beneficial Supplements:
    • Shilajit
    • Ashwagandha
    • Maca
    • Taurine
    • L-Carnitine (increases androgen receptor density)
    • Creatine
    • Tongkat Ali
    • Fadogia Agrestis
    • Black Ginger
    • Pine pollen (contains natural androgens)
    • Boron (increases free testosterone)
    • DIM (natural anti-estrogen)
'The Testosterone Advantage' by Timotheus Ray is a nice read on male health and hormone optimization.

I always agree with you, chris, but this ideology of toxic masculinity in the modern world is just a scapegoat to make us men feel weak and vulnerable.
The world I wanted to live in died years ago when you marry the woman you truly love and now dating apps have made men like myself feel useless or devalued in the modern world because our value as men is perceived by everybody in the world based on your physical appearance, wealth and social status.
I have improved every aspect of my life.

    2 train 3 times a week
    3 have goals

Stop playing a victim. I was a white, overweight, long curly haired Polish American dude, with a bad back, raised on the south side of Chicago from the 90s - late 2000s. Non medicated ADHD & ASD1, had no career at 27. Lost 80 lbs. Took a loan, went back to school, got a degree in mathematics, went on to receive my masters from Purdue. Learned IT/Computer Science (discrete mathematics) on my own. Paid off most of my loan already. Got a great job during the start of 2021 in security research. Making a good living, bought a home and now considering PhD work. I’m not infinitely gifted. Everyday was/is a struggle with ADHD and focus but I’m slowly making it through.
You can do it but I will say, IT SUCKS RIGHT NOW. That I can admit. The economy, housing, food costs, energy, etc. I’m saying I feel for you younger generations and older too. It will be harder for us but we can still make our lives what we want. Then we can turn around and vote, to then take action to fix it. I refuse to sit back and blame anything/anyone but myself for where I’m at in life. Sure, it can be said things are harder but I’m not going to self-sabotage my life on a skewed belief that I shouldn’t even try.

    respect is imposed
if you can't impose immediate physical consequence (which may be as simple as walking away and causing an issue for the other side as a consequence),
any "respect" you get is just fluff anyways... (can be taken away at a whim)

I'm wasting my time here but I haven't heard anyone defend this properly before. He mentioned a boasting politician (I think we know who that is). If you subscribe to the idea that the media is captured, then a politician who was going against their grain would have only himself to sing his praises. Additionally, there are tons of self-help strategies that recommend at least MENTIONING your strengths so that people don't miss what you're capable of. In the world of politics, if all your words are being twisted and the credit for all your deeds is either being turned 180 degrees or being stolen by others, you have to at least TRY to correct the story. Not saying he did a great job of it, but what can we expect?
