It's interesting to hear she traveled through Kunming before she went to Thailand. I'm currently working in Kunming. It must be a lot harder to do this in China nowadays.
This is the usual route for NK escapees in China- they make it down south to Yunnan and then acriss the border to Laos or Thailand, where contacting South Korean authorities/embassy and claiming asylum is much easier. But if found in China, they get arrested and sent back to NK (not surprising at all, considering China's complete disdain for human rights ). There were many heartbreaking cases of NK ppl making it all the way to China's south, only to be caught and deported back to that hellhole. Greetings from Zhengzhou, Henan.

Alright back to Asian Boss I go.
Lmaoooo frrr
She really was determined to live a new life
Recently discovered your channel and have been binge watching it and the episode with Yoemi came on. This is the most horrible and best (bittersweet) thing I have ever seen in my entire life and I am so happy for Yoemi! I am horrified with what she went through but I am so happy that she made it. I am crying with happiness that she can tell her story with so much conviction and strengrh. What a strong and intelligent woman with absolute determination and NO FEAR!
Drew based on your travel to north korea and stories what is your hones opinion on the country ps never stop making vids.
I thought North Koreans were starving lol, How did she have $10K to pay?
Fake new u moron . She said life is easy there . They just want more options and western culture
It said she was super rich
@@darkskindeep Some North Koreans are starving to death in the rural part. However she grew up in a quite rich family in North Korea and they have quite a bit of money.
She probably escaped with some illegal traders and traitors
She literally stated that she grew up rich
Yo I was shocked as hell when he said she prefers North Korea, I was like: Are you for real? But then he said she prefers South Korea. Good
1:06 SHE PAID $10,000 OMG JUST TO SWIM ACROSS IT
Not just for that. To avoid Chinese government, and get to Thailand safely.
I also want to swim to South Korea
But I don't know how to and also I am scared 😬😑
>10k dollars
Was she Kim's daughter?

"She escaped North Korea and left her family and friends behind"
Doesn't it mean they were all killed because of their relation to her??
*This girl is bullshit. There are people that are truly struggling in NK and risking their life escaping cause their life depends on it, and this rich girl is giggling and shit like she just decided to take a walk in the park across the border and thought, ok cool, maybe I'll stay in the South for a while. Feels like a mockery and slap in the face to real defectors.*
@Laura *Clearly am wasting my time when only morons are reading it. Duly noted.*
Nara thanking you for sharing your story. You are an inspiration to all!
Drew, you are inspiring so many people by sharing inspirational stories.

*This dumbass girl literally said she works harder in the South and there is more freedom in the North.*
She so beautiful 😍

Nara escaped North Korea!
*Kim Jung Un joined the party*
you mean Kim Jung Un wants to know your location
3:54 that smile made my day
She's still seen as an outsider from South Koreans, just like how Western Germans see Eastern Germans as outsiders.
When the girl is speaking Korean put on the subtitles 😂😂😂😂😂

@@nataliasz2389 As I know Laos really isn't favorable on human rights either, but its interesting that they aid asylum seekers. I know Thailand has been open about it in the past, allowing the Burmese to migrate during the civil war.
