1.Let's be smart here guys don't bend your hybrid pads. Just use water and pat dry. This is for cloth mousepads. 2. Before you comment saying how this doesn't work. TRY IT FIRST because it actually does work 3. Enjoy your newly washed mousepad
Just tried it myself on my G640 and it works great. I use a mist shower head spray and diluted clear liquid shampoo into a metal bowl and scrubbed it in with a microfibre cloth. The face down drying is also impt in keeping integrity of the pad. I have ruined mine before. Great ideas!!!!
i would recommend doing this in a bath tub. the way your folding it into a small bowl will eventually make the fabric detach from the rubber base, especially with no stitched edges.
@@Sora-o that's where you are wrong buddy, csgo pro players for instance have low sens, they move their whole arm to aim instead of just wrist, you need a huge mouse pad to do this. Fact that you aren't even aware of this, means you don't really know much about fps gaming. You probably aim with that high ass sense and you can't aim for shit.
Been doing this for years with my pads, can confirm that it does wonders. No need for a microfiber cloth if you don't have one, just rinse it out with a shower head thoroughly before drying. I've used a bunch of different shower gels and every single one worked fine. :)
step 1 : water it with lukewarm water step 2 : get some soap and get your hands bubbly and massage the mousepad step 3 : take your microfiber towel and dip it in the water and wipe the mousepad with it step 4 : soak your mousepad in water step 5 : keep the rubber side up and press down the mousepad dry on a towel(on a towel cuz you dont want your desk dirty) step 6 : make the rubber side of the your mousepad face up and let the mousepad dry(let it dry on a towel so the towel can absorb all the water and dirt) done!
Wow, I usually was kinda skeptical with mousepad cleaning as most of the time with my other pads the consistency was ruined, but this method made my G-SR feel like brand new.
I'm sorry, but I feel like I have to educate and give warning before people try this method. I'm not saying that this method won't work, I am just saying that this method can potentially work or damage your pad. There are much safer methods out there. Bending and creasing the mousepad in order to get it wet is generally not a good idea. You are essentially, bending and altering the weave, therefore, changing the original feel of the pad. If you have to fold your mousepad, you should roll it in a way where the surface is on the outside (as most manufacturers package their pads), but try not to bend and crease. *1. You can just simply lay out your pad in the shower/bathtub and gently rinse with the shower hose on a low force setting on lukewarm temperature.* As for the actual cleaning, using a fine microfibre cloth could also be damaging to YOUR pad. You should test with the intended cloth in the small corner of your pad by rubbing it in a circular motion. If it pulls, catches, or if you feel much friction, then obviously, it's not going to be a wise idea to be scraping your soapy pad with it. *2. Rubbing the soap in, using your hand can be okay, but I find that using the soft side of a sponge works on most pads. DO NOT use the abrasive side of a sponge.* *You can use dish soap or hand soap. I personally use Fairy Liquid.* *3. Rinse again, simultaneously using your palm to swipe and clean off the soap and residue. Try not to leave any soap in your pad.* *4. Pat down gently and leave to dry.* Again I want to clarify, this isn't to bash this video. In fact, the method in Brandon's video might just work for you. It's all about what pad you have. I just simply want to make people aware before they go and damage their pads, as not everybody can easily afford a new pad. Edit: mistakes
Jang Yeou that’s what I was thinking, it hurt me to see him cramming the pad into the glass bowl , also I thought shampoo or conditioner was better for the pad than hand soap although the aloe does sound nice lol
Note: as BT said, use luke warm water at most. Using hot water can break down the glue that holds some mouse pads together. Also be aware of the Mousepad you're doing this on. For example: With a shidenkai you might want to take special care when wiping the surface, or not wipe it at all because of the beads.
Hey BT, love the vid. Will you do an updated review on the Cooler Master MM710 Mouse because in the comments of that video you said reviewers were sent the wrong mouse and that you’d do an updated review soon
BT! An extra rinse with clean water afterwards also benefits the pad by washing away dirt trapped within the soap particles. Similar to how washing machines clean your clothes
No, it WILL damage the shidenkai. That pad uses a glass coat, in fact artisan's packaging already indicated never to fold their pads inwards, you will risk permanently damaging the surface. In fact this video is perhaps the worst example of how to wash a mouse pad. It may work for the pad in this video example, but try it on a G-TFX or Hayate Otsu and I guarantee you its going to damage those pads permanently.
important to note that washing a Zowie GSR SE mousepad (the one in this video) doesn't help restore the original glide since it comes with a special coating from factory that wears off within a year-ish. This method DOES work for the regular GSR though and restoring the glide since it usually gets very slow within 6 months.
Hey BT, love your vids btw and amazing tutorial, I recently bought a model o and would like to know if the artisan shidenkai is a good mousepad to accompany it. I feel people would like a video showing a variety of mice put along with the artisan lineup, glide tests etc.
