That is for certain. Many rate neil perr as prime example of a great drummer. I'd like to if seen drumming contest larry verse neil. I say larry would win hands down.
I've heard this song so many times but I still cry when watching live performances of it. The message is critical and Bono delivers the lyrics directly to our hearts, to our own hearts. It makes me so emotional because I'm exhausted from losing people to war.
I remember U 2 was up and coming at this time and I was in awe of the talent level they possessed. Great songs and delivery and musically strong, just all around great performance.
I saw them in their first concert in Toronto touring the Boy album. My buddy and I walked out of the venue, looked at each other and said that U2 were going to be one of the biggest bands in the world. We weren't far off were we.
The single best concert memory I have. This day was miserably hot 🔥 and yet it was a fantastic time, hundreds of thousands in attendence over the course of the festival
I was there too, right down front and center, yes it was miserably hot ,there were huge water cannons mounted through the area but they weren't working. Remember Bono talking about how much they they loved being in the US and they were gonna move here?
I must have been right next to you. After U2 they pulled me and my girl over the barricade for relief... and we spent the rest of the day back stage. Wild times. Class of 83 Ojai. @@Doc_Holiday
Bono just a baby but he had the crowd up and the biggest ovation out of all the bands that day and what a powerful set they performed and a star is born. Hell yes bono u had my attention that sweltering day and one of the best sets I have ever witnessed.
I really regret not seeing U2 on the War tour. Saw them on the Unforgettable Fire tour and several times on the Joshua Tree tour in 87. Not many bands could touch U2 live at this point in their career.
I remember being at home room in 1987 as a freshman and here in that Bono fell off the stage, separated his shoulder, at RFK just 15 miles away from my high school in Fairfax Virginia the night before
When will you Maple Leafs finally do it in hockey?! Capitals fan for life from DC here. If my team can't do it that year, I want to see the cup brought back to where it was born basically
This the only band i can enjoy a video of with or without the sound and still totally enjoy. Probably, i know the music so well it's vividly imagined, but the physical dynamic moves so naturally you can fell the music live and breathe. Such normally unfounded authenticity.
I can't believe the news today Oh, I can't close my eyes and make it go away How long, how long must we sing this song? How long? How long? 'Cause tonight We can be as one Tonight Broken bottles under children's feet Bodies strewn across the dead-end street But I won't heed the battle call It puts my back up, puts my back up against the wall Sunday, Bloody Sunday Sunday, Bloody Sunday Sunday, Bloody Sunday Sunday, Bloody Sunday Alright, let's go And the battle's just begun There's many lost, but tell me who has won? i was a late bloomer, but i managed to first see u2 on the unforgettable fire tour april 1985. subsequently caught a great show on the joshua tree tour dec. 1987. they came to my neck of the woods back in april 1983 for the war tour. unfortunately this was before red rocks and heavy mtv rotation, and to my own personal recollection, any knowledge of the band by myself. at that point, they were just another college band running the circuit. in some ways i'd possibly wager the 1985 and 1987 shows as a trade for the 1983 concert. of course i am hypothetically speaking. but honestly, seeing u2 in 1985 and 1987 still remain to this day at the top of my 1. 2. best concert list. so it wouldn't be a given.
This song was dedicated to "Solidarność" (Solidarity). And I was in Warsaw (Poland) December 13, 1981 (Sunday). Belonged to "Solidarność". Many more words can be said.... Now I live in Canada.
What a band, they had it when they where young and now they have evolved into manga artists. And to continue to play these great shows and tours goes beyond belief.
I was there with my 12YO Daughter at the time. I was a little alarmed when he climbed the rafters and tossed the flag, pole intact, into the audience below. She's 47 now and remembers it still.
you probably dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream all the new movies and series on Instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf for the last weeks =)
Oh fuck.. I remember being there that iday. When Bono climbed the rafters atop the stage. I was only 13. But will never forge the beautiful feeling I had.
Larry Mullen. The most under appreciated drummer ever. That guy has so much feel and intuition
Took me to become an adult to finally see it
That is for certain.

Edge on machine-gun riff and Larry's bombastic tirade, perfectly accompanied by Adam's dramatic bass drop and Bono's poetry sung from the heart...!!!

3:30 Bono singing to the point of exhaustion very moving I love this man ❤️
I'm not surprised after Bloody Sunday 1972 in Derry, and after Lord Chief Justice Widgery's white wash.

I saw them in 1981, '85, and '87, all great shows! 1985 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit was my favorite.
Bono just a baby but he had the crowd up and the biggest ovation out of all the bands that day and what a powerful set they performed and a star is born. Hell yes bono u had my attention that sweltering day and one of the best sets I have ever witnessed.
My absolute favorite song. Probably because I was backstage for this at the US Festival. Good memories. Thanks for posting!
You lucky thing ,

I was there first time I saw U2 couldn’t believe this guy marching on top of large screen way up ther! Have been a fan ever since
50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday today, R.I.P all those departed.....
What a powerful voice Bono had, perfect performance by this great band
He sure knows how to make the crowd vibrate with a super natural sound. Good music is always to be remembered.
Wow. Such a powerful song, musically and lyrically. California had never seen anything like this before. Peace everyone.
OMFG. U2 IS THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME!! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

My God we are growing old to quickly, this may not be a rebel song but it's for all the rebels out there no matter what age we are
Kerry Barnett THE IRISH REBELS NEED THEIR COUNTRY WHOLE AGAIN ENGLAND!!!
The IRA did the rebel songs. This is a surrender song.
Its a patRIOT SONG

“Sunday Bloody Sunday” “the beginning of a new revolution” Now more than ever we need it

This concert/festival was the first time I watch U2 ‼️
I was so impressed w Bono and the band! 14 years old I then bought my first U2-album. 🎵🎶❤️
U2 at their best, they sound amazing compared to the other acts I've seen in this festival.1 thing u2 are is consistent, always good Live
One of a humble talented man I’ve followed him at age 14 we use to run to this song in the woods and sing this we were having fun ;)
I can't believe the news today
Oh, I can't close my eyes and make it go away
How long, how long must we sing this song?
How long? How long?
'Cause tonight
We can be as one
Tonight
Broken bottles under children's feet
Bodies strewn across the dead-end street
But I won't heed the battle call
It puts my back up, puts my back up against the wall
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Alright, let's go
And the battle's just begun
There's many lost, but tell me who has won?
The trenches dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters torn apart
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
How long, how long must we sing this song?
How long? How long?
'Cause tonight we can be as one, tonight
Tonight, tonight (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Tonight, tonight (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Alright, let's go
Wipe the tears from your eyes
Wipe your tears away
I'll wipe your tears away
I'll wipe your tears away (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
I'll wipe your bloodshot eyes (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
And it's true we are immune
When fact is fiction and TV reality
And today the millions cry (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
The real battle just begun (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
To claim the victory Jesus won (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
On Sunday, Bloody Sunday, yeah
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
