It depends, how long have you been on oral Minoxidil? If you change to topical, there will be an ugly phase where you will lose some hairs until the topical minoxidil kicks in. But you can choose to do a transitional change, to ease the shedding. If you've been a short time on oral Minoxidil, this will not be so bad.
Have you tried topical minoxidil? I tried it twice a day and my scalp itched so bad, I reduced to once a day, but the itchy scalp and dandruff persisted. I switched to oral minoxidil, and for me personally, taking 1/2 a pill once a day is so much easier, and preferable to twice daily applications, and I've had far better results, plus no more itchy scalp. Actually I had no results with the topical after 6 months. Taking oral minoxidil with dutasteride, even at my age of 66-1/2 has given me new hair.

Thanks for the support! I wouldn't apply rosemary oil directly after Finasteride, it's best not to mix them. If you want to use both, you should wait some time between applications. But in any case, if you're using topical Finasteride, you should be good to go 👍

My personal recommendation to use minoxidil 5% at least 1 times a day. Vitamins like magnesium, zinc, biotin, saw palmetto.
Use rosemary oil only to cure dry skin from minoxidil and plus little bonus for hairs, not as an independent treatment.
Add more natural green tea to your regular life or buy vitamin extracts if you want
Be aware, that you need to sanitize needles for derma roller and let your skin rest at least 6-8 hours before applying any medications!

Some needle lengths work better than others. But I would recommend starting with 0.30 mm. And never go above 1.50 mm!

@@got2glizzy It's not so much the side effects being the reason not to apply minoxidil right away. Minoxidil contains alcohol in it which is why it burns after dermarolling.

Minoxidil is prohibitively expensive so for many would only be used as a last resort. Also, as soon as you stop using it, you lose your hair again, so it is only a temporary solution and not a cure.
