    You sumed it up nicely with all the words I couldn't put together. It's hard to even describe just how nice it is once I shot it it was like nothing id have ever shot before. It literally is the best gun I have ever shot

    I've been trying to avoid this, if only for the cheesey lifestyle brand they were pushing. I've looked at the tacops, the mk25, even the base p226, but this really does have everything I could want or add to to any of those pistols, after your review I'm sold dude. Excellent channel.This is the best review on TH-cam for this gun hands down.

    Wait...there's a Legion car seat? Great video. Yeah...I was in a training class last year and caught a lot of flack from others when I lost the Lambda insignia from my grip. All the Legion jokes came out then. Sig replaced my grips with no questions asked. And I agree...the best gun investment so far for me. I ended up purchasing another one because this is my EDC.

    I love my P226 Legion SAO. I also have the X5 Legion with a red dot. I tend to flip flop between the 2 of them. The P226 is just as accurate with iron sights but I have to slow down a little when I want to shoot fast compared to the X5. But in the real world the X5 can't compare. The P226 Legion is the tactical advantage every real shooter needs without breaking the bank.

    I would agree with your assessment about steel-framed 9 mm the 226 Legion, but for the top level steel-framed 9 mm the Beretta LTT edges out the Wilson Combat Brigadier, IMHO. I own all three, but the Sig and the LTT make me look better than I am and I can run with that all day long, everyday, 24/7 365. Thanks for the video!

    When I was buying my first gun, I had a choice between the HK P30LS or a Sig P226 Legion SAO. I honestly dodged a bullet by getting the HK because this was when Sig recalled all the legion models because the PVD finishes was coming off. Glad you love yours though. I'm thinking about picking up a P220 SAO in .45 because I want a single stack .45 but I dont want a 1911.

      Sig was really shotty here and there. I can't argue at all with it. I will say I still love and shoot my P30LS often and while I have been doing lots of SIG/Glock stuff, also recently a lot of shooting my USP45 and MARK 23. I'll be putting a lot more time into the P30L V1 and P30LS coming up here soon. Just waiting on ammo to get to my house.

Second I'm assuming that you're a sailor which I thought was pretty cool based on the whole devil dolphin named LOL. But I'm curious if you're running that gun in the waistband and if you are what holster are you using? I found a few good options but I don't want to wait 3 to 6 weeks

    SIG screwed up this summer and had a their complete optics ready legion slides with the Romeo 1 pro installed on sale to the peasants for about a week and a half. Someone screwed up bad. Anyway I was able to snag one each for my P226 and P229, and had the customer service people add me to the Legion roster for those two models. Next step is to get the triggers replaced with something better. Both guns started life as LEO trade-ins with already pretty smooth triggers though.

    Likewise, I love my Trijicon HDs. I have them on three of my Glocks. Even though, I have kept the Sig sights on my Legion 226; love that gun and the trigger. Just purchased an H&K USP 9mm Tactical, hate the all black sights and have considered changing to Trijicon HDs??? May just end up contacting Dawson Precision and seeing if I can simply replace just the front sight to something similar to a red front dot.
    Nice reviews.

    Hey bud, trigger adjustment isn’t to make it lighter, what it does do though is adjust the reset. Check out some videos on how to do it, it’s super easy. Once you have it dialed in, man it’s noticeably better than the standard SRT reset.

    Had one and sold it. Liked my X-5 German all metal gun better. What I didn't like about the firearm was the paint finish blemishes and front sight was bent from a bad install at the factory. I purchased the firearm right before going to work. Otherwise it was a nice firearm!

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I probably would have parted with it if my finish was doing that also, but I can't complain with how well it shoots and feels in my hands. I really love it. I'm not sure it could hang with an X5 though, that's a tier above for sure.

    • @Tarsarian
      @Tarsarian 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The X5 is like a custom 1911 with all the parts had fitted. Extremely accurate and feels amazing in the hands. I purchased one due to the crazy Obama gun laws that were coming out. First Sig stopped importing them due to the laws then Sig was sending the machines over to the U.S. for production. Later they stopped making them. I'm no expert but to notice the difference, you would have to be someone who does IDPA or competition. Thank you for the content DevilDolphin! @@navyman8903

    Alright, a couple things Navyman. 2 questions. As great as this Legion is do you shot it better than your Glock 34? I loved my TacOps 226 and will probably get this same Legion but I shoot my G17 and G34 just as good, with less weight and less money spent. Only pistol I’ve found I shoot as good would be my CZ SP-01 Shadow, the first version. That thing is like shooting a laser gun but I would never carry it or duty carry it over the G17/34. You need to try the Shadow and make sure it is a Shadow not just a normal SP-01.
    Also curious if you’ve considered the P227 since you are a 45acp guy. My P227 is great. Installed the SRT and Gray Guns trigger kit, X-Ray sights. Will also fit perfectly in your existing 226 holsters. Unfortunately I do not believe Sig makes the Legion in 227, but if you are holding out for it that would be a understandable decision.
    Thx for the great vid. Btw I will hopefully be sending my G34 to Taran Tactical here soon. Pretty sure it will be worth it but will it be my fav 9mm? We shall see.

    • @xrmatt1010
      @xrmatt1010 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im not Mr Dolphin but I will say that I have shot the 226 legion and while it is a sweet shooting gun and laser accurate I shot my Glock 34 just as well. Practice over anything thats the thing no fancy gun or trigger will make much difference in the long run in my opinion. For example when I first shot my Mark 23 I couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn but after a few hundred rounds and learning the trigger things improved dramatically. Also I have heard the SP-01 is an awesome gun super comfortable from what I’ve been told.

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On the P227 issue, I really want SIG to make a LEGION P227 for sure. On the 34/17 issue, I find that difficult to answer. I will say stock for stock the Legion gets the win every time. With work I'm not too sure just yet. I plan to send the Glock 34 to Taran for the John Wick package as you know. I've also wrapped up shooting the Overwatch precision in the G34 and am editing the review now. I will say that package is awesome. I really love it. As for which wins out, I'm not 100% sure. I'd have to do more back to back shooting. I will say the Legion eliminates all the guess work and allows me to make shots I couldn't normally make/take my shooting game to new levels. The 34 and 17 are my favorite glocks hands down, the 34 being the most preferred Glock. But I'm not sure I can shoot it as well as the LEGION. I have made some impressive shots with it and it redeemed Glock for me in a big way. I actually enjoy shooting it and bring it to the range frequently. I wore it as my sidearm while at the range. I also made some shots out to 100 yards with it requiring very little effort. I should put it through it's paces to see where it sits for me. I'm also putting together my 9mm Triad and the P226 is already in there, same with the VP9, I have to see who wins the #3 spot. IT's up to the 34, P30L, USP9, and Glock 17. We'll see.

    Did you have to modify the surefire to mount it on the p226? And are you using the 1913 rail slot or the universal? I’m asking because people are having issues with mounting the x300 on p226.

      Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it. As for the frame color, I think they're close but the REX I have encountered in the wild was tan. The Legion might be a touch lighter in hue, but I can't be certain. I do really like the light, and I appreciate you trying to match it up with your gun. @@KingOfNy9 I really like the 600 lumens for indoor work and it would be decent for LE work. For building clearing it's excellent. The 1000 lumen light is what I put on my wife's pistol, because she's going to use her handgun in a wide spectrum of situations. Sometimes the 1K is too bright, but it's good for felony stops and covering movements. 600 isn't weak sauce by any means. 600 can blind someone and take them by surprise. 1K for sure, but 600 is more than adequate IMO and with my specific experience.

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it happens after a decent round count day. I usually use the M Pro-7 cleaner with a pencil eraser to clean it up. I messed up one day and used a brass scraper and it left a straight line that hasn't come off. Just use the eraser technique with some patience.

      DevilDolphin Ohh ok. That's a real disappointment. I was considering to put some electrical tape over it, or just not have it on at the range. But that's to much work to take off and put back on. I'll figure it out I guess. Like older electronics will those batteries corrode if you don't use the light for expensive amounts of time. This is mainly for home use if the moment ever arose.

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KingOfNy9 I mean it's just carbon buildup. The electrical tape will work for that just fine. But if you use something it never stays fresh. Which is something I had to reconcile early on. Which is a shame and sometimes I really like the finish on a gun and hate when it gets jacked up. I definitely have copies of guns I really try to keep nice and I don't shoot as much. But at the end of the day, while I don't abuse my stuff, it will over time fade with use. But I get what you're saying and completely feel where you're coming from.

    • @KingOfNy9

      DevilDolphin I hear what your saying... The 226 is far from cheap which I'm sure you know. Lol. My first firearm at that also, so doing what I can to try and preserve it and all it contents. I bought an XCarry that I plan to beat up a little more. I really couldn't decide what I wanted at that point in time, so the XCarry just came a little latter. Lol
      But yeah I just don't wanna put an chemicals on the gun except what's need to help clean the inside. BTW... Do you know what I can use to get some of that packing oil off the gun that sig put on it before they put it in that plastic bag?

    Sig should just make the regular p226 as nice as they can and ditch the cheesy marketing "Legion" give me a break. That coin is straight up cringe. I'm running a new P220 and its nice but i had to custom fit the slide to the frame, way too much side play right out of the box but love the new E2 grips and it has the normal Sig trigger and normal reset as well which lets you remove and clean the re set parts without removing the grip unlike the srt trigger parts. Awesome shooting fotage btw, you know how to shoot, some of these guys on youtube have some weak wrists.

      As of this moment in time. My top 3 performance wise are the P226, HK P30L V3, and the G17 G5. However, the USP9SD I have is an absolute unit, I also really like the Beretta M9A3. I'm going to pick up an M9A3 soon and then have a showdown.

      @@navyman8903 thank you for that. i'm contemplating what to get for a duty gun. i have a background in bullseye shooting and am an enormous trigger snob. i'm gonna put a dot on whatever i get. i've not given into hk yet. i've seen a lot of things about newer sigs that concerns me. this is hypothetical, but if all of those guns you just listed had 30k rounds out of them, which would you be comfortable using as an offensive gun?

    On another tangent, I was wondering if you are completely against optics on handguns. I know for all the time and money you put into weapons and training, you never really talk about going with an RMR/SRO on any of your pistols.

      I was very anti-red dot on pistols. Until I tried it! Now I’m a huge fan. With just a little training, I shoot faster and more accurately with a dot, and I was already an expert with iron sights.
