    Picked up my sig P226 Extreme on 12/11/22. Put a pro cut slide on it and a Romeo 2. Has 2450 rounds through it as of 1-1-23 and it’s been AMAZING. No failures to feed, eject, or chamber a round. Keeps 5 inch groups at 30 yards no problem with the cheapest range ammo we can find, (Blazer 124 Gr) all in all it’s a 10 out of 10 gun for me.

    Yes, it is an awesome gun. Good to know the finish is holding up alright after you’ve run 4,000 rounds through it (not counting previous ownership). Glad you’re enjoying it.

    I've got a Blackened Stainless P226, which is an all Stainless steel lower/upper with the Nitron finish. It was my first 9mm, I bought it as I was getting out of 1911s, before my first Glock. I use grease on it and oil on the rest of my pistols. It's never failed me in over 8k rounds and has a really nice D/A trigger.

    • @navyman8903

    Just an added thing, sig recommends decocking before removing the slide after pushing the takedown lever down. It’s because the SRT safety lever initially wasn’t long enough and was pre engaged so removing the slide forcefully rubbed against the safety lever. That safety lever’s nub is what actuates and depresses the firing pin block plunger. If it gets too worn down then it may not disengage the FPB, causing a failure to fire.

    Seriously need to invest in a custom 1911. I've been watching you for years now with all these borderline top shelf pistols. Time to make the leap man. I did it 3 yrs ago and regret all the money and time wasted on HKs and Sigs. All I order now is Nighthawks or Wilsons.

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The only 1911 that keeps popping on and off my list is a Dan Wesson specialist full size in black. It's all forged and $1800 is the top I would spend on a pistol. I like and respect the Wilson Combats, Triarc and the 2011's I see. But I can't bring myself to spend $3K on a pistol like that. I have to get these rifle projects knocked out, gear and NODS first. But I was raised on the 1911 so we'll see. Once everything else is purchased.
