    I have the P226 Legion SAO and it is one of the best pistols that I have ever shot. That trigger is insane. Thanks for the review and cheers!

    Hands down my favorite pistol. The grips are super nice and the ergonomics are great. Its heavy enough to limit recoil but not overly heavy. I got the RX SAO. The optic enables me to shoot tighter groups at further distances at greater speed. The trigger is phenomenal, smooth and light pull. Just absolutely love the gun. I've never shot better with another pistol.

    I bought one tonight, and it’s dead on accurate and awesome! I have two P229’s with SRT kits installed, but the Legion SAO is really nice.

    to update previous comments: i bought this gun last october 2015, i now have shot 9500 rounds aproximately, and not one fte, ftf, only two ftf, atributed to ammo. I use my own and new. this guns trigger is amazing, the sights are, and it just feels good. I shoot the gun in IDPA and USPSA, and polish the other guns I own. it is also an EDC, after dark. It is well worth the bucks. I have been selling off the rest of the stable. GET one, you will be glad you did

    I purchased this gun the day before Christmas and I love it. I belong to an outdoor range so I haven’t gotten my first 500 yet because of weather but man I know firsthand what you’re saying is true. It’s very accurate and so far I’ve only shot junk Ammo except for one magazine of Sig Sauer Elite Performance JHP as a test. It’s the most accurate pistol I’ve got and I own a variety including the P238; P938 Legion; P320 Compact; P365XL; P365SAS; and the P2022 9mm. I also own a Sig 1911 XO 45ACP that I like so I’ve got experience shooting Sigs.
    Finally I’ll second the notion about the trigger on this pistol. My range doesn’t allow double taps or speed shooting so I can vouch for the fact that’s it takes effort not to shoot the pistol fast.
    This gun is a beast in respect I’m so glad I purchased it. I’m just sorry that in my state I can’t shoot it with 20 round magazines …which are illegal.

    Yes it's worth the extra money over a base p226 or p229.
    The trigger is basically a custom trigger that you can set the travel on.
    Grey Guns did the trigger and short of a nice 1911 it's the best trigger
    I have ever fired

    My Justin, gorgeous pistol. I own a P226 Legion SA/DA. Would've went with SAO but it wasn't in stock at the time of my purchase. No regret with mine. Wish I can own both. Great review. Only minor gripe is I wish the soft case came with a carry handle but I don't transport my Legion in it anyways.

    Agree with everything that you said. Bought this a couple of months ago, over 1000 rounds. Best out of the box gun I've ever seen. Trigger, grip, sights all superb. Did I say that the trigger is superb? I now like it better than my Kimber 1911. It's true that it wants to be shot fast. Good thing it's 9mm instead of 45, otherwise I couldn't afford to shoot it. Favorite gun. Did I say how good the trigger is?

    Excellent photography! Shows product! Great audio! I just bought this one based on exclusively good videos. I have a variety of Sigs and the only loser was a P365 SAS. Of concern was whether the slide could be racked with the safety on which is of benefit when clearing the weapon if you don’t have good grip strength like some of us 80 year old guys. My P938 has this feature.

    For those of us who unfortunately live in restricted 10 rd. mag states, Mec-Gar makes a great competition 10 rd. mag which can be found at GunMag. A bit pricey but high quality and IMHO worth the cost.

    I bought the P229 legion and I love it!! The only negative thing I can say about it is after shooting it 6 different times and cleaning it each time I can't get the factory oil smell out. As for as holster I'm running a safariland pro compact 578-283-411 This thing fits a lot of different guns. I use it from shield pps, glock 19, 229 legion, hk p30sk walther ppq 4 inch and the 5 inch. it fits a lot more too.

    Great video on the sao, can you tell me what the trigger pull is?
    I would also like to see you shoot a mag of 5 different self defense loads
    in different weights.
    I own the p229 Legion in 357 sig sa/da and love the firearm.
    I found I group best with Federal HST ammo.
    I like sao flat trigger better and the p226 Legion is on my list in 9mm sao.
    I'm going to try and find a buddy with one and give it a run, I must say
    I like the second strike ability on my sa/da and am a bit hesitant …errr
    why not just dive in I guess.
    Thank you again for the excellent demo,
    cheers

  • @froggymann65
    @froggymann65 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice! I'm going to get the same model. I already have a P220 SAO Match and I love it. The one thing that keeps getting my attention is, for years, gun writers made such a big deal about Sig using hollow (roll) pins. Then they piled on praise when Sig went to solid pins. Now, Sig has roll pins again and nobody mentions it. What is that all about. I personally don't care either way. But the gun mag writers sure won't be pointing this out, not for a newly arriving series of pistols anyway.
    Still, I'm getting one...

    • @JustinOpinionChannel
      @JustinOpinionChannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +froggymann65 Well, we all need something to write about - but seriously the only real advantage (IMO) to the solid roll pins is that they don't get deformed and can be reused indefinitely (in theory). Even with the proper punch, the roll pins can get deformed and must be replaced. Some purists will say always replace them anyway.

    Have you noticed any “polishing” of the slide or frame after all your use? There is so much out there about excessive wear on the PVD finish, but don’t know who to trust. Trust you, so if you say there isn’t excessive wear (cosmetically) from use, I’ll get one. If there is, does your P226 Extreme’s finish appear more durable? Thanks!

    I own the Sig Sauer P-226 Legion SA/DA. They value the bag, that they give you at $60. It's got plenty of plenty places for you pistol magazines. This is my first weapon, but I want another weapon, but with ammunition shortage, I'm just not sure what to do. I also bought a AR-15 from Sig Sauer at same time, that I bought my P-226 Legion. By the way, it's a heavy weapon to carry, because I openly carry it, as much as I can.

    Beautiful. Love the manual safety and 1911 manual of arms. Only thing I'd change would be to put some Sig Scorpion 226 G10 style grips on it, or the OD green color just to give it my own touch

    • @JustinOpinionChannel
      @JustinOpinionChannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jared Bush Yeah, if you run a 1911 there is no real difference here. The safeties are nicely sized and perfectly located. I have a P226 with the piranha G10 grips, but these are better. You gotta feel 'em!!

    • @bushjared89
      @bushjared89 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Justin Opinion Yea it's definitely on my dream pistol list. I must say this Legion is starting to take the edge in my ideal go to war pistol over the new Beretta A3 but not quite lol. Sig has definitely uped their game. I have the Sig 2022 in FDE it's the best $500 I've spent on a gun especially with the night sights and holster. Lastly I can tell your not a budget gun kinda guy but you owe it to yourself to try a Taurus pt111 G2. I've had two with 500+ rds through both without a single bobble. Took a concealed carry class in March with it and was beyond proud of it especially for $250. You will not be disappointed

    i'll be getting a legion most likely the sao. ive handled the regular 226 legion and even though the trigger is nice, in this price range i want something really special and the sao is definately that. and i love how all the hardcore sig guys and even sig themselves were all about greasing and how if you weren't greasing your sigs you were an idiot and now all of a sudden...lucas OIL packed in with the legions lol

    I can’t be sure but it seems like the safety could dig into your hand/knuckle, unless you put your thumb on top of it, which it’s not quite wide enough to accommodate. I like the trigger but would like to know if the safety is bothersome

    I am thinking about buying 2 or 3 Sigs in 2020! This may be one of them. Do you still Love this Pistol Justin?? I value your feedback on this pistol my friend. 🇺🇸🤗🥳😎👍. Beretta Sr.

      I just mentioned this pistol to a friend at the range today, when discussing "best triggers ever". This is still one of my short-list-favorites. In fact, I'm planning some fresh range time and video project with it soon.

    Justin, I take that is the setup you would suggest in getting this gun in ?(9mm SAO) Do you think their DA/SA again in 9mm would be as satisfying to shoot ? Personally, when i first saw this gun I just thought it should be owned in 357 Sig period. It just screams 357 Sig to me, which of course you're relegated to the DA/SA setup. Thanks again for your time and efforts.

    • @JustinOpinionChannel
      @JustinOpinionChannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bill Blake I would love to also add a DA/SA to the fold, so I'm not especially biased to the SAO. The action types are significantly different so that a direct comparison of the shooting experience is really hard to do. I believe the DA/SA models also have the SRT which to me is a must have. Agree .357 SIG would be fun, as would .40 S&W.

    In your opinion, do you feel this is a realistic edc iwb or just straight up to big?? I'm 6'4 260 so the weight isn't really a factor, I'm just concerned about concealabilty.. thanks for your opinion and killer videos.

    • @kws5786
      @kws5786 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 6'8" 290 and I've carried my P227 in an appendix holster just fine. It's all about a good gun belt and the right holster. With those 2 elements plus adjusting what clothes you wear it will work. Plus most people have their head up their own hindend a little bulge wont be an issue

    any tips on choosing between DA/SA and SAO? only thing i am worried about is it safe to carry is cocked/locked inside the waist belt?

    • @j5m1v8g
      @j5m1v8g 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Train to get the safety off every time the gun is presented, and keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you've made the decision to fire...you'll be fine. SAO is SIGnificantly easier to shoot than DA/SA.

    • @atticus9907
      @atticus9907 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've carried a cocked/locked Sig SAO or Springfield EMP everyday of several years now. Just work on clicking off the slide safety once the barrel has cleared the holster and keep your booger hook off the bang switch till you're ready to fire and you'll be just fine,good luck.

      the sao operates like a 1911, but, the safety when on blocks the trigger, slide can be used, chamber check and mag check with safety on, very comforting

      @davycrockett4406 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are intending to use the SAO pistol for competition, it will put you in a higher division than the double action/single action variant. You’ll need to decide which system will work better for your needs

  • @Robespierres_Ghost
    @Robespierres_Ghost 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Is the SAO really that much better than a da sa 226? I like the simplicity of a da sa 226. SA isn't bad at all on a reg 226.

    I am tempted to look into buying a legion pistol but I have a question. a BIG question.....Is it worth the extra money over the standard Sig?

    • @JustinOpinionChannel
      @JustinOpinionChannel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is subjective, of course - but I think it is if you're a "gun guy". If you're new to shooting or are not an avid enthusiast then probably not. Like buying the BMW M3 - worth every penny if you're a car guy, but if you just want to get to work and back, the regular 3 Series will do just fine.

    would you consider this pistol to be a able to fill the role of a combat handgun? I have an HK P30L and I'm thinking about selling it to get this.

    • @JustinOpinionChannel
      @JustinOpinionChannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Richard Yi Absolutely. But wondering if you might want to consider the DA/SA version which would be a more similar transition. "Cocked and Locked" SAO pistols are not for everyone. That said - I'm at a loss to name a better handgun.

    • @Gun_Dae
      @Gun_Dae 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Justin Opinion I see. the transition shouldn't be difficult for since I carry my p30l cocked and locked
      (my version has a safety.) I handled one of the sao legion p226s at a gun show, and while I loved the trigger, and could definitely see this as a competition gun and range toy, I was concerned that the changes they had to do to the internals to make it SAO would interfere with the reliability of the gun. thank you for debunking my suspicions.

    • @JustinOpinionChannel
      @JustinOpinionChannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Richard Yi I've seen nothing so far with just under 500 rounds to make me feel this is anything but a true SIG with a prettier face. But I am just beginning work soon on a more detailed review for GunsAmerica and will double that round count. By then I know I will have a chance to further indicate its reliability.
