I just stumbled upon your channel an hour ago. Dire Straits (the capo!). Paul McCartney (the vibrato!). Pink Martini (the kazoo!) and now this wonderful duet. Thank you for making this Sunday night unexpectedly bright with your voice and talented playing. Andy is great, too, and together you make lovely music. Looking forward to hearing more from you both.

What people don't understand is that holding that round back guitar without a strap, is the hardest thing in this video
I have an Ovation 12 string and you're spot on!
I’ve had an Ovation too. Standing up is much more difficult than when seated down. Not sure I agree.
sooo, to be fair there's two kinds of roundback ovations and she's got one of the thicker bodied Ovations which sit on your leg more like the standard bodied guitar. There's also a thinner style roundback (like my CC057) which is half the thickness and more prone to slipping off your lap. That said, I agree that playing without a strap increases the difficulty drawing precious concentration from other things, but if we're ranking what's most difficult about this performance I'd say the body shape is pretty low on the list. Anyone who's tried to play and sing at the same time will tell you it's WAY HARDER than just playing a roundback without a strap. I can play my roundback without a strap, granted with noticeable yet still minor impact to my playing, but ask me to sing and play at the same time? HA! absolute mess... if you add a more complicated fingerstyle arrangement to the playing in addition to singing like her 'Sultans of Swing' cover th-cam.com/video/sjzPCu16Gko/w-d-xo.html (AWESOME!!!!) then color me EXTREMELY impressed.

Who ever would have even thought "hey, let's cover Kids, and do it acoustic and with soul". Or, maybe you didn't "think it", you just charged ahead... such an unexpected a really nice four minutes of song. Great playing ,great harmonies, and a really great idea for a cover.

I love myself some MGMT but honestly after this you don't have to listen to the original. There's no comparison here.
This is great but the original has a surreal vibe and sound you can't feel in this. You owe it to yourself to check it out.
