Not just here, it’s nice to see Elle and Toni anywhere. Ever since Elle’s discovered she’s also good at shorts comedy, seems like all the music has stopped. I know fans miss her and Toni still doing music but seems to never happen anymore.
I just lost/gained the last 4 hours of my life going down the Josh Turner rabbit hole, and it all started with this song. Thanks for making me 40 years younger today. I love you for it.
Just seeing that Josh is involved shows me it's going to be Epic. His talents put him on a short list of Prodigies. And he has surrounded himself with so many other talents and allows them to have the light too. These two ladies, for example, will have bright careers if they elect to stay in the industry.
To all you gearhead drummers, this guy just nailed it with one cymbal and one tom with gaffa and sheets and some production talent from Josh, no doubt.
Watching this guy perform is like pulling up to a light and the toyota Corolla next to you blows your doors off because there's a 440 hemi under the hood. He's a sleeper.
Saw this as I was about to do the dishes. Paused straight away and broke out the headphones to give it the best audio experience I could. So here I am standing in the kitchen with a pile of dishes with a pure smile of joy and happiness on my face and in my heart and I listen and watch this perfection. The Universe just healed it self a little bit. Thank you Josh, Toni, Elle, Kellie, and co.
The difference between the 70's and today, is that back then I wore out my Rumors Album from playing it so often. Homework, hanging out with friends, chores, babysitting etc. Today, I can hit a button and hear the scratchless version over and over. Thank you for reminding me of those wonderful, carefree youth days with one of my favorite songs growing up.
Josh, your vocals on this are great. I appreciate the way you let Toni shine, giving her responsibility for lead guitar. She's very talented. The harmonizing was very nice as well. Once again, Kelly did an outstanding job of capturing it all on video. Well done!
I never knew "Kelly's" name, but I've long understood that she's very much the glue that holds Josh's gig together.... at least from a visual perspective. Respect.
2:12: that moment toni nails that lick and Josh smiles; you can see the smile still lingering at the next shot of them. That's it; that's the feeling that made me learn guitar and stick with it all these years. I love, it both your guitars sound so nice but Toni's was just sounding so mean riffing. the tone ahhh, so good . Well done all around what a full beautiful cover. Those high support vocals from Elle in the background were super crispy in the best way. I love all you guys and I feel so fortunate to be able to listen and feel the wonderful talent of well practiced musicians.
There is a definite pattern emerging over the last few years: you choose your songs carefully, and with limited resources produce a cover version that is kind of better than the original. And I really love the originals. Really good job. Looking forward to seeing you again in the UK in a few weeks' time.
I remember being 12 years old in the summer of '77 when our family took our vacation. I remember my dad playing this song (the whole Rumours album, in fact) on his 8-track as we drove down to Disney World. Other 8-tracks that he had that we listened to were Peter Frampton (who was HUGE at the time), Hotel California, ELO, and Wings Over America. Great memories!!
My mother and her girlfriend took my brother and I north on the PCH from Palos Verdes that same summer. Only add in earth wind and fire and you could have been in the e150 with us. What a great summer to take the coast north, listen to great music. Great year to be 12. Dang, thanks man.
The look of concentration on Josh's face. Most of the time Josh and all his talented friends make it look easy. of course we don't see all the prep time. Even Toni and Elle look like they are putting in some overtime on this one. Well worth the work. Thank you.
Spot on observation. This song isn't just a jam....it's a true composition that breaks down if every piece isn't performed just right. Every dynamic and bit of silence is important to the whole. Look for covers of this song on TH-cam by people who don't get the details right and the song turns into a mess.
We need you in our world right now. You are saving so many people’s sanity. Including mine. Thank you for your unbelievable talent and your gift to all of us listening and loving your vibe and your absolute professionalism and ability.
Tony nailed that solo! I knew she was good but that was next level, Lindsey would approve of that one for sure! All in all, a great job by you all. Just brilliant.
There are no unused superlatives to descibe the music that these four young people make together. Absolutely stupendous! And give top marks to Josh for the level of intensity reflected in his face during the vocals.
Musikalisch, handwerklich, schon immer eines der größten Talente. Josh ist inzwischen erwachsen geworden. Jetzt ein Gralshüter leibhaftigen, gelebten Musikverständnis. Danke. Gott sei mit Dir
The ANGST I felt, the exquisite pain... as I have watched these friends spin off collaborations and crush successes, I felt such a vacuum in my soul even as I celebrated the stellar success of the ByGones, the continued genius of Elle and Toni, I feared the paths could diverge and break the the jewel that RDC & The Other Favorites had made. So happy to see this!! So happy!
I’ve followed Josh’s channel since he was in high school in Charlotte. He never ceases to amaze me with his talent. Thanks again Josh, you made my day again.
I'd love to see one or both of them tackle Lindsey Buckingham's solo acoustic version of Big Love. FM brought two guitarists in after Lindsey's departure.
This is where it really shows how much you folks have performed together. There is a level of comfort and musicality together that only comes from having made a lot of music with each other. This turned out really good.
Nailed it. One of those arrangements that has to be just right. PS Mick Fleetwood is one of the few drummers I can pick out by style: Your guy Jason did him justice.
That's sooo wonderful😍😇😍! I was 16 when Rumors came out - and this LP has accompanied me and millions of other people of my generation throughout their whole lives. You really nailed the spirit of this great song perfectly. I had to fight back tears when I saw and heard your cover. Thank you so much 🙏!
Josh's "save save save" symbolizes all the hardships of home recording. Playing that stuff is already amazing enough and putting it all together isn't a trivial thing either.
Fine musicians // badass driving bass // outstanding alone lead // the chorus is near cherublic // drummer blends the rhythm section like butter // lyndsey jr. is spot on // etc. Watching you guys evolve for the last few years has been magical.
Josh's unique talent is getting the very best out of the musicians he plays with. Elle playing the bass riff on The Chain? Quite remarkable. And truly wonderful all round.
Great to see Elle and Toni are still alive and kicking - I was really starting to worry with their channel being silent for so long. And what a fantastic song to find out with!
I have been watching you guys for years and you have really developed. You have evolved into the real thing. That's a very difficult song to reproduce and as they say, you nailed it. Sweet!
#2,396. I know this will be lost in the crowd, but I can't help myself. Such QUALITY PEOPLE! Don't forget the purr-feckt MUSIC, but y'all are SUCCESSFUL HUMAN BEINGS. Don't change. Back in the '70's, I rented a ground-floor duplex office in an old Victorian-era house from the late and honorable James Britton II, who had purchased it from the Musician's Union when they moved to Morena Blvd. The place had a number of grand pianos, one (his favorite) just across the hall. Every afternoon, Jim would come down and play the classics. He was perfectly imperfect. That is, highly skilled. But MORE than that, he was TALENTED! I was working in Philly radio as a jock when this song was being played. I really like the nuances you respected, including the drummer knowing what his job was on this track, and doing it well. I swear I heard Lindsey and Christine for a bar or two. Kudos.

Let’s spare a moment to applaud the drummer, who nails the iconic drum part.
Does the drummer have his wallet on his drum? to get the sound right?

Elle’s smile at 3:39. Every bassist knows why. Just one of the coolest sections in rock history.
