  • Dee and Dory make their Polish inspired outfits and show you what they used for the inspiration. Both makes were easy and turned out well.
Dory made Butterick 4856 View D tunic but didn't put the cuffs on the sleeves. Her pattern came from the Facebook Pattern Destash site and her fabric was from a Fabric Wholesale mystery box. She did her embroidery on her Janome 500E using Designs by JuJu. Paying attention to detail would have saved her some time. She had to embroidery two sets of sleeves as the first ones cut out did not match with the bodice.
Dee Made Butterick 6749 View A skirt. The elastic around the waist was a bit big, so she had to trim that down. Her fabric she had bought at FabricMartFabrics.com. She didn't line the skirt as pattern indicated due to the type of fabric she used.
We hope you enjoyed this weeks video @sewingfun

Both makes are wonderful. Loved your embroidery design and color choice. That belt with the skirt really set it off! The fabric was perfect for the skirt💃

Thank you so much! The belt is a necessity for that skirt.

Such pretty makes. Love them. I live in northwestern Ontario and my nephew is in the mountains of Poland right now. He loves it there. Two years ago he was there on a deployment to Latvia but this time he’s on vacation. I am making or attempting to make a merino wool sweater into a pair of mitts and a hat. Either a beanie or a beret. Maybe both 🤷🏼‍♀️ . It’s a black merino wool sweater. Should be a beautiful set. 🤞🏻🤞🏻😊

Sounds absolutely wonderful, we would love to see it when it's done. Dory lived in Latvia for three years many years ago. Poland is a place she'd like to visit!

Great video - the embroidery on Dory's top is just beautiful, and beautifully done as well, and Dee's skirt is a perfect use for that elegant and unique fabric! Also enjoyed your insights on the Charles Dickens quote. And I like the wallpaper behind you, too! It is so fun that Dory found her fabric in a store - proves that Fashion Mart sells designer fabric! Poland's culture and history deserve to be better known - I recently learned that they are a source of high-quality linen, too - didn't know that! Our family is a mix of so many countries we're losing count - my Norwegian grandfather used to say that with all the wars, migration and invasions in Europe "No one is pure anything," but my husband's Irish mother would have begged to differ - I think she wasn't remembering that the Romans/Italians invaded Ireland and the Spanish Armada made it to the British Isles as well 😀! Makes me appreciate Dee's thoughts about getting along together!

Cute makes. Not odd at all that you have Scandanavian... European countries are relatively close to each other and over time there was quite a bit of trading, raiding, and just moving around. Look how far the Romans got! London was called Londinium!
