I think as a die hard pixel fan, we all have agreed to it slowness and hope Google work on that, but we've accepted it like that also 😅 as the smartest smart phone and we love it like that
I believe Google has a solid approach here. They're not just chasing the highest specs like CPU or GPU power or those top benchmark numbers. They seem to understand that pushing for that could lead to overheating issues. Look at Apple, for instance; they had plans to roll out their intelligence features, but they haven't done so yet because they're still figuring out how to maintain a good balance between battery life and keeping temperatures in check, along with how much RAM will impact performance. So, I feel like Google's making a wise choice by using lower-performing CPUs to avoid those potential battery and heat problems in the future. That seems to be their strategy for the time being.
Thing is I use my phone constantly for many things, I have an 8 pro, and have never run into a situation where my processor is too slow. It's number higher type shit. Practicality is more important. It does what I need
I hate how Google purposefully makes these SoC trash in their Pixel lineup. I don't care if you don't "notice" the sluggish performance, I don't want that slow performance in such an expensive device, especially when its not future proof and things like video editing lag the phone to death lol. Also you can buy a phone for far cheaper that performs like 3x as fast as a Google Pixel. Google doesn't seem to care about performance but they should start caring.
The fans (I'm a big Pixel/Nexus fan myself) tend to defend Tensor but its genuinely bad that its not as performant as other flagship SoCs while charging the same premium price. I can accept it for the A-series Pixels but they should have came up with something better or a Pro variant of Tensor to compete. I have both the 7a and 8 Pro.. while they are more than good enough for the day-to-day, push it a bit more, it will struggle sooner and heavily than any of the other flagship and sub-flagship SoCs of its generation.
I'm glad that that pixel is moving on from Samsung making their tensor chip and having tsmc making the chip from now on thank god,I have the pixel 8 and it does run every I through at it fine but can get a bit warm on 5g but that's it,so looking forward to seeing the next few pixel devices and how tsmc does with the tensor chip.
I used to have cheap phones with crappy CPUs when i was a teenager, around ten years ago. Then i earned some money and i bought powerful phones with the lastest an top CPUs from snapdragon at that time. I realized i dont need a ton of power for 99% of tasks i do with my phone, i just need optimization, stability, powerful software, cameras and a great screen. Pixel 9 offers all that.
I mean gaming on it isnt bad too the only problem you can see coming is after a while when games will have better graphics like in a few years you can start having problems
And now we've officially come full circle... ”this processor is slow, but just doesn't feel slow because of good software integration" was Apple's whole engineering philosophy for 30 years!
Coming from my s21... It's faster it's closer to s22 -23 speed.... But the real issue is the weight it is heavier thicker and wider than a 3 yr old phone
S21 - S22 is indeed close because S22 cpu is such a big failure but these 2 has a huge gap compared to S23 samsung dump the exynos and it got its own 8 Gen2 for galaxy(faster than other 8 Gen2), S23 is so good it's even better than the exynos S24
The point being, if you’re paying for a flagship phone it should come with flagship level hardware. It also will decrease the longevity of the device. Apple for example slows down their devices over time to preserve battery life. If your device wasn’t that fast to begin with then it will do pretty bad at reduced clocks. Not to mention if your phone already doesn’t keep up now, it likely won’t keep up very well with future technology either
Wow what a huge problem! 👀 Writing this from my Pixel 9 btw, absolutely love this phone, got rid of the absolutely boring iPhone 15 and I'm not going back. 🤘🏻
If you are a hardcore mobile gamer, you will not get a Pixel phone; if you want a phone that can do anything else with amazing AI and photo editing, that's the one I would recommend
“was never meant for gaming” uhhhm, yes it was?? It’s a smartphone, it’s meant to be able to do almost everything. That’s why they were made. They’re for communication, gaming, entertainment, work, web browsing, etc.
Watching benchmark scores and feeling happy is YOUR problem, not the device's. I bought the Pixel 9 a month ago and it's excellent. Super smooth, realistic photos, brilliant battery, perfect display and touch, probem free gaming performace (I play Asphalt a lot). I also own a 5 year old Samsung tablet and still remains very fast, including games.
It's not a big deal for me just like I don't need a sports car, but the real problem is that it's priced as same as a flagship mobile phine with a much slower chipset.
I personally don't game on my phone at all, and that is where the difference in priorities becomes important. I LOVE my Pixel 9 Pro XL, because it does what I need it to do without any issue. Different usecases add nuance to the question of "what is the best phone?"
You will not see a difference between the two for everyday use. The Pixel just works so well and never ever starts to lag over the years like iPhone and Samsung
The P9P has a vapor chamber cooler than any phone I've used before. Only time the phone has ever been hit was the first time I used it. Better cooling leads to better gpu/CPU performance.
I still regret buying the pixel 7 because so many reviewers said "it is the perfect phone". The phone sucks at performance, not even par performance while gaming (considering its cost). Looks like Google never learned
The pixel can handle games pretty well, we keep hearing we are gonna get high demanding games but the market of mobike gaming is still stuck with small rpg games and arcade games the only time we had good games was in the 2010s era
It's crazy how literally none of the comments consider longevity as a factor, a phone that's 2x faster might not seem that much more impressive out of the box, but it will feel infinitely more responsive a few years down the line. And that's not even factoring in the battery life benefits that come with a faster chip, which (aside from the inherent benefits of a more efficient architecture) can reduce its own power significantly to achieve the same performance as the slower chip maxed out. Pixels are great, I've had my Pixel 7 for years now so I'm not even biased here, but I wouldn't consider another Pixel until Google gets its shit together and replaces its own dogwater SoCs for something significantly better.
Pixel is a great phone I owned three different ones and just bought an iPhone. You cannot compete with performance for iPhone after a year the Google pixel becomes laggy like a android
The last time I wanted an Apple product for Christmas to use for gaming was about 10 years ago with the iPod Touch. Instead, I got a Microsoft Lumia and had to play some Clash of Clans knockoff...
You have to buy a smartphone for the overall experience and not for benchmark numbers and the Google Pixel 9 is incredible at delivering something of excellence.
To put it into context, this is the same performance as an iPhone 12, and Google is making you pay the same price as an iPhone 16. You won't feel it scrolling tiktok but it's still a bit scammy
It just depends on what you want to do. I don't care about performance at all as long as it runs smoothly. I go to bed with my Pixel 8 with 60% battery. That's much more important to me than some awesome processor.
Bought a pixel 9. Transferred from iOS. Every time i loaded a photo. It would always take an extra 1.5 seconds to load properly. On device storage was too slow for a flagship phone.
If you need something that us so performance demanding then you are always going to look for such a phone anyways. The pixel is really good in most standard phone categories like their camera and the intergration of google apps into the phone
I have Pixel 9 Pro. it has a huge problem with video, when you record video on motion it has bad stabilization, and sometimes the picture just freezes a bit. However, it has a good quality night video recording
I don't think my dog will mind taking his snap with a phone with 80% sustainibility and 4500 score on CPU test. Appreciate the clarification about people with high performane as requirement.
Well most southeast asians literally play games on their phone. The computer price is not cheap my man. That is also the reason why the market for gaming phones is booming here.
You probably got a lemon because I be on my Pixel 9 pro hard and I have never had it heat up. Check what charger you are using, if it is third party it can be damaging your phone
Google processor is very optimized for software and ai things for photos and videos, also it's not market as a gaming phone but still can play heavy games without problems
What the comments are forgetting is that these phones are priced the same. Longevity is the biggest reason why it’s better to have a faster phone, so when you’re paying the same for a half as good chip you’re getting half the longevity. It is true, however, that the iPhone 16 is the worst iPhone in a long time
I use my Pixel + some straightforward video and image editing apps very extensively (so much so, I just ordered the Pixel 9 Pro XL today, to upgrade). The Pixels wouldn't be known as gaming phones, no - but my Pixel has been an absolute godsend. It's been more than good enough to take shots for my newspaper, its images have impressed the pro photographers I work with, and it's been perfectly decent for making photography books with. Its zoom isn't amazing - but in every other way, it trumps my now unused Canon camera. Samsung and Apple also make excellent phones too, each with their own strengths and weaknesses - but you're hardly getting treated badly with a Pixel, not least as its proprietary software is also a strength.
Isn't the tensor g4 similar to the snpdgn 8 gn2/gn3? And those chips were considered lightning quick not too long ago. So if you're not gaming it's all good.
Honestly there's no problem at all. I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL and it works great. I just switched from an iPhone and I actually feel like I bought something new. Not feeling guilty that I bought the newest iPhone and it's the same thing
Ive been a gamer all my life and i learned that benchmarks are only numbers and can be misleading. After all the pixel 9 has shown in actual trsts that its on par with the other phones who have highwr benchnarks😊
In my experience, Google Pixels are the best optimized mobile phone in terms of regular usage. Everything is just as it should be. Pixels are like Toyota Camry in the mobile market.
The pixel chipset is focused on software, camera, ai photography such as editing etc. Samsung and iPhone are all arounder flagship. For Gaming go with ROG, Red Magic, and Iqoo.
In my opinion, Google's hardware/software integration is the best. Samsung easily comes in last, followed by Apple in close second. Samsung makes an effort to have the best specs, but its software consistently falls short.
Google is a very good phone for pictures but they need to do something about that chip I understand they want to use they own chip and they do not want to use snapdragon but they need to make it the same level like Snapdragon or better
If you want to do heavy gaming, instead of putting 1 band into a phone put it into a PC who will perform just wayy better. Else for 99% of people, all of these phones are nice. If you like apple, take apple, if you like google, take google, if you like samsung take samsung. But if you plan to use your phone only for gaming then it's kinda stupid. It's like buying an all in one screw kit to only use one screw
The benchmark is useless. My pixel runs way smoother than my iPhone and s24 ultra. For every day use and gaming the pixel has been amazing. The benchmarks don't prove anything now a days

I still love my pixel 9. The phone is so smooth
👍👍
I mean gaming on it isnt bad too the only problem you can see coming is after a while when games will have better graphics like in a few years you can start having problems
yeahh and thas also bcoz pixel is not intended for gaming in the first place. would be weird for a gamer to buy pixel.
Even with a 2000$ gaming PC, you will struggle in a few years.
If the roles were reverssed everyone would be laughing at iphones, but now everyone’s like nobody needs to be that fast😅
Exynos is a failure, but I love wider phones
The weight is from the bloatware in them dam phones.
I think at that price point just buy a gaming console, or a steam deck you will save alot more for alot more performance and better gaming experience
Writing this from my Pixel 9 btw, absolutely love this phone, got rid of the absolutely boring iPhone 15 and I'm not going back. 🤘🏻
As an average consumer I don't care about cpu scores anymore. Phones are plenty fast now a days
If you are a hardcore mobile gamer, you will not get a Pixel phone; if you want a phone that can do anything else with amazing AI and photo editing, that's the one I would recommend
Very well said!
I have a pixel 5, still snappy to this day. Looking to upgrade to a pixel 8. Point is, benchmarks don't matter
I think for most users the issue would be the battery life - which is definitely suboptimal compared to its competitors.
Pixel 9 was never intended for gaming of any kind, it was meant for mainly its ai assistant
“was never meant for gaming” uhhhm, yes it was?? It’s a smartphone, it’s meant to be able to do almost everything. That’s why they were made. They’re for communication, gaming, entertainment, work, web browsing, etc.
Latest Snapdragon wipes the floor with Tensor for AI tasks.
It's a good thing I'm not playing video games on my phone that are performance demanding. Balatro and Stardew Valley do not require high end graphics
Faster cpu would make the phone better
Have you used it?
People still want ultra-powerful phones but in reality the Tensor G4 is more than enough for what 80% of people do with it.
A good, well rounded Video that is kept short with enough information. Finally
As long as it's a google pixel in my hand I don't mind.....#ilovegooglepixel
Yea because I'm definitely using my phone as a high end computational device and not just a bootloader for firefox
Google clearly stated it that their phones are not gaming phones but for day-to-day users. Then why do people play games on a 6.2 inch smartphones?
As someone that doesn't game the pixel phones feel absolutely fine to me and feels no different to my iphone.
Bought a pixel 9. Transferred from iOS. Every time i loaded a photo. It would always take an extra 1.5 seconds to load properly. On device storage was too slow for a flagship phone.
Average consumer probably won't even notice.
I writing this on the pixel 9 and even Genshin runs fairly smooth on medium settings. If you want a Pixel get a Pixel. It's smooth af and just great.
The performance will be perfect for majority of the users.
But if we were to take the price into consideration then thats a different story. IMO
I don't think my dog will mind taking his snap with a phone with 80% sustainibility and 4500 score on CPU test. Appreciate the clarification about people with high performane as requirement.
These issues should be fixed on the Pixel 10 and onwards as Google is dumping Samsung's chips for TSMC's. TSMC makes Apple and Snapdragon chips.
genuine question who does professional gaming on any phone
Well most southeast asians literally play games on their phone. The computer price is not cheap my man. That is also the reason why the market for gaming phones is booming here.
literally billions, lol..
@@mubaraksenju7521so we jus lying
I have been using the pixel 9 since 2 months and the only problem I have been facing (which is very irritating) is the heating issue on pixel 9.😢
Had a pixel 9 for over a month, never had heating issues with using the phone on average more than 7 hrs a day
You probably got a lemon because I be on my Pixel 9 pro hard and I have never had it heat up. Check what charger you are using, if it is third party it can be damaging your phone
This youtuber always love iphone or ios why are you always saying android phones had big problems? This video need to be report.
Google processor is very optimized for software and ai things for photos and videos, also it's not market as a gaming phone but still can play heavy games without problems
both are fast enough, but one feels sluggish and slower just due the animations.
Or maybe it's because current Tensor isn't up to 2024 expectation. Embarrassing for a FOURTH GENERATION PRODUCT!
What the comments are forgetting is that these phones are priced the same. Longevity is the biggest reason why it’s better to have a faster phone, so when you’re paying the same for a half as good chip you’re getting half the longevity.
It is true, however, that the iPhone 16 is the worst iPhone in a long time
I am using a Pixel 9 Pro for gaming also, and it works just fine. Never had any problems or slow downs with it.
This is like comparing a Nissan GTR to a Dodge Charger simply based on horsepower.
Samsung and Apple also make excellent phones too, each with their own strengths and weaknesses - but you're hardly getting treated badly with a Pixel, not least as its proprietary software is also a strength.
for 99.9% of users the Pixel is amazing and great for everyday use. benchmark stats are just a gimmick for most users.
Yeah but the irl differences are negligible as of now. That may change with its longevity tho.
Isn't the tensor g4 similar to the snpdgn 8 gn2/gn3? And those chips were considered lightning quick not too long ago. So if you're not gaming it's all good.
Yes, i should buy an f1 car because it's fast especially cornering on a roundabout
Honestly there's no problem at all. I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL and it works great. I just switched from an iPhone and I actually feel like I bought something new. Not feeling guilty that I bought the newest iPhone and it's the same thing
I don't game with the phone, so here I am proud and happy owner of a Pixel 9 ❤
Ive been a gamer all my life and i learned that benchmarks are only numbers and can be misleading. After all the pixel 9 has shown in actual trsts that its on par with the other phones who have highwr benchnarks😊
In my experience, Google Pixels are the best optimized mobile phone in terms of regular usage. Everything is just as it should be. Pixels are like Toyota Camry in the mobile market.
Here is the problem❌ here is my Probleme ☑️
The phone doesn’t have single problem, but the same cannot be said for you…This is a phone, not a gaming console!
The worst side of Pixel is it's nighttime FRONT camera VIDEO performance. It's a literal a noisy nightmare...
The pixel chipset is focused on software, camera, ai photography such as editing etc.
Samsung and iPhone are all arounder flagship.
For Gaming go with ROG, Red Magic, and Iqoo.
My God, how much longer can you look at these synthetic tests when they consistently show absolutely nothing.
Guys, there will be absolutely no difference in your clash of clans gameplay no matter what phone you get
Good explanation ❤❤
👍👍
Love my pixel 9 pro xl. Upgraded from a 4a so it's a massive jump up in performance. I only use it for photos and day to day tasks, camera is amazing.
I won't buy pixel for power but i buy Google pixel for efficiency, ia and evolution on the time.
Just because it's not the fastest doesn't mean it's not fast
In my opinion, Google's hardware/software integration is the best. Samsung easily comes in last, followed by Apple in close second.
Samsung makes an effort to have the best specs, but its software consistently falls short.
Can you please compare the Sony Xperia 1 VI with these three phones???
What about Samsung Galaxy S24?
Even exynos version is way better
If only snapdragon would have made the chipsets for pixel phones. No phones could near pixel
Google is a very good phone for pictures but they need to do something about that chip I understand they want to use they own chip and they do not want to use snapdragon but they need to make it the same level like Snapdragon or better
You don't really need anything more powerful given the fact that majority of people get them for their cameras + TikTok dooms rolling
I can deal with all this but the heating issue is the real deal breaker !
It's called a mobile phone not a mobile gaming computer for a reason...you communicate with it!!!
Again. Buy a phone that best meets YOUR needs. Not what a benchmark shows. Just because you can buy a Ferrari doesn't mean you can truly drive one.
No one cares about benchmarks, its about real world testing. And the pixel does everything wonderfully.
If pixel 9 had a fast CPU it would probably be like the one of the top Android Phones
The benchmark is useless. My pixel runs way smoother than my iPhone and s24 ultra. For every day use and gaming the pixel has been amazing. The benchmarks don't prove anything now a days
