I can answer your questions. Atom smasher was actually released before Deadpool (in comics) but for adapting Atom smasher into live action dc used the same technology fox used for Deadpool’s mask. As for powers and color scheme, his costume colors are actually based on The first atom Albert Pratt who had red and blue, and for powers I’m not sure if he’s connected to Ray Palmers Atom who actually had size altering powers and was released before Ant-Man by 2 years but if he is then there’s your answer.

People were giving it bad reviews without even watching. That's how they are nowadays would rather listen to a TH-camr say it's bad or would straight up go to movie without the intent of only pointing out flaws instead of actually enjoying the movie.
It would have been more interesting if Carter Hall/Hawkman, Nabu/Dr. Fate, and Teth-Adam/Black Adam, had known each other, and perhaps the first two had been responsible for Black Adam's imprisonment, at the request of the Council of Wizards. Carter wouldn't remember this due to his reincarnation cycle, but Nabu would.
Irony is, that Superman is a bad option against Black Adam. Because he's weak to magic. Couple that with the fact that those blessed with the wizard's power have an endless reservoir of magic...Superman will tire before Black Adam or Shazam will.

Wish they could have kept this movie focused on Adam and Fate. Once the movie tries to make EVERY character OP and High Priority, it starts dying. And, that's with all the superhero movies. Having too many characters usually dilutes the story and makes it even more unbelievable.
The only way having multiple OP characters work is by also having multiple OP or a singular OP villain to compete with. Black Adam is not on the level of a super team buster. Usually a team-up of Superman and Shazam is enough to take him. Even here, Dr.Fate should have been more than enough. DC does have the league of villains though, who have a varied range of strong characters, if they can do something with them in the way Marvel did Thanos, it would make for a better team-up movie cause you need more than 1 OP hero to fight multiple OP villains.
