Dr.Fate is truly a force to be reckoned with - he frees and talks to Black Adam telepathically, fights and holds off against Sabac and puts up and maintains a force field to keep his teammates out all at the same time
even in this insanely nerfed form, he is truly strong.
I was confused about his powers because they said the helmet was alien but he also name drops the Lords of Order, then I stopped thinking about it too hard and just enjoyed the performance/special effects.

@@morganrose7022 Nabu, who empowered the Helm of Fate originally was a lord of order was a Lord of Order; much like Klarian "Bum Bum Buumm" The Witch Boy, a Lord of Chaos, he was not at all human. Part of why in the Young Justice cartoon the Helm and Fate were such a problem was due to Nabu simply not getting humanity at all.

Not likely to happen. The fans would love it, but Dr. Fate isn’t a big enough character to pull off a financially successful film. Look at this move: even with The Rock headlining, they couldn’t clear $400 million. It’ll probably cost Warner Bros. a $50-$100 million loss.
I think it could work, however with Nabu the character within the helmet would he be a guiding voice (or simply not appear as in the film) or would he assume control like in the animated series Young Justice. They would need to do more work for the character as (I haven't watched this film) I believe Fate was heavily nerfed in this movie from what I have heard. The film could follow this one and be searching for a replacement.

I knew they couldn't make Dr.Fate as powerful as he is in the comics but I'm still a bit disapointed that he had to be nerfd so hard. Still he was the best part of the movie for me. Would love to see him in a movie where he gets to show some real magick 😄

I'm sad they killed him off, I absolutely loved his character.
I enjoy how everyone just watches Fate perish and helplessly stare at his foe proceed to kick the helmet over. No response whatsoever just fatality. Well done on that.
Fate didnt perish, only his host did, as far as im aware, in comics and cartoons, fate is linked to the helmet and anyone who wears it.

Don't know how it is in comics, but WB at least made sure words under water isn't recognized in Shazam movie. Doing what you said would be breaking continuity.

Look at it this way. This was Nabu saving himself. Kent is his host and they both realized they were gonna lose. They also likely saw HOW they were going to die. A disintegrative punch through the gut, dissolving the entire body, clothing, armor, all of it. If Nabu forced the helmet to stay on, presumably it would not be a great thing since the disintegration would affect the helmet too. (Maybe the comic book helmet would have been fine, but they had to nerf him for the movie, so we could still have a decent length movie and stakes and not an OP God of order wrapping things up in the first five minutes.)
So when Kent decided to take it off (or Nabu himself) and simply hold it, it was the smartest choice. His hand would relax and open when his heart stopped and he would drop the helmet, saving it from burning it away as well. Ishmael did not know the truth about the helmet and merely saw it as a piece of armor, decoration. Not worth his time or energy. Hence him simply kicking it away and finishing off Kent. Had he known, he would have absolutely either stolen it or destroyed it.

@@La.2blea.ivan04Anti heroes have a place in our world, also people can redeem themselves with their actions to do something good with their "evil" powers. Black Adam is far from a hero, but he can still choose to use his power to prevent a greater evil from reigning supreme. Hence the line.
@@La.2blea.ivan04 Countries like Kahndaq do exist in reality, where military gangs, warlords, and drug dealers control these regions instead of their local government. They make people suffer, and they kill and tortue the ones who disobey, just like the movie here.
And for developed countries like US, they do not really help these countries out unless it endangers themselves. Just like you can see here, the Justice Society does not come to Kahndaq until their problem becomes global problem.
And as you see, even after the Justice Society leaves, Waller still sends Superman to warn Black Adam, which is not only because of dangerous power, but also that she does not want Kandaq to overturn US.
And in reality, Afghanistan chases out US army because they do not really help, but tend to suppress local revolutions for liberty. Why? Because the old goverment benefits US, while it does not really benefit Afghanistan people.
On the other hand, there is also such military parties in Asian countries, like Thailand and Myanmar. It endangers Chinese people as well. But you know what? A lot of these military groups have Chinese people in them, and are even lead by Chinese. So, our government in China tries to bring it down, but why it is so difficult to progress? Other than these gangs have local power, it is very likely that these groups also have connections to some Chinese governors.
So, for such countries, they do need dark heroes like Black Adam. Violent he might be, but what else you should do to fight against gangs and military parties who kill people ruthlessly while they control the country themselves?
We definitely need a Doctor Fate movie Pierce brosnan was awesome as Dr Fate I could not imagine him play this iconic Dr Fate when my favorite characters in DC 🙏👍👏👏❤️💯. I was so grateful they cast former James Bond actor played superhero so amazing

Dr Fate is one of the most POWERFUL magic users in the DC universe. He's definitely not dead (he trolled Sabbac).. he's too good for that. This is still a great scene and it proved a worthy distraction for Black Adam to come back. GG

They butchered the helmet in its entirety in this movie. Hawk man was able to use the helmet without being a host and even wearing it, then once he used the helmet it magically disappeared? The helmet itself is an item it’s not just something that can be conjured and removed 😂

The prison escape fight scene was special. They used ultra slow motion cameras and in order to do so and make the fighting still look real: they really had to hit each other. It was not Dwayne Johnson. It was his smaller body digital stunt double. And since it was super slow mo and the cameras were at every angle it was easier for the team to keep the mask on the stunt double than to CG The Rocks face on top of him. Idk. This scene is just iconic because its 1. Badass 2. Was badass to film and 3. Not one person in the shot was a famous well known actor. All stunt actors and Im here for it.

Honestly, the movie would had been way better if Fate explained that he couldn't interfere too much and that Black Adam had to become a hero or something. Because they nerfed him way, way too much...

The actor they chose was perfect. I really like him overall. Just not the rest of the movie. It was meh. Not terrible. But certainly not good either.
@@spades77 well lets be fair here. Whats considered the best on screen adaptation of DC? I guarantee its one of the animated films or series. The problem with on screen adaptation is its expensive, and doing dolo movies for the non headliner heros doesnt always do well, so the introduce them in ensamble movies usually. In order to have a decent ensemble movie no one hero can be OP, otherwise as you said theres no movie. The only choice is to use a version of the hero that has limitations, even major ones. One of Dr Fates biggest limitations has always been that his hosts grow in power the longer they serve, but while willing to serve, they are usually either old and weakened, or have some motivation to not always be Fate meaning they dont reach his full potential. Personally I've never found any adaptation of Fate to be lackluster once the power dynamic of the universe has been established.
In my opinion the larger problem is that DC comics have made a rediculous amount of their heros basically gods within so many different storylines and alternate realities, that its become actually impossible yo get a definitive answer on how "powerful" anyone is. Best you can do is just say "in this universe hes this steong, deal with it."

I'm digging the inside-the-helmet shots. We all know that Iron Man introduced that type of shot, but it's such a simple concept that it begs to be experimented with. This was a fun variation, and I can't wait to see what other films do with it.
As a hospital worker, I appreciate the little detail of use of an realistic length intubation tube for the mask. Too many times entertainment media with just opt to put a fancy looking oxygen mask and leave it at that. Like, nah bro. The thing has to force enough oxygen in and out so that your lungs will stay inflated.
