    What a fantastic adventure you are having. We've watched the last 7 episodes of your journey over the last few days and can't wait for the next installment.

    Following you for a while now and always looking forward to the next episode. Excellent mix of wonderful pics and films, highly interesting sailing and weather information for a non-sailor like me and out of the normal routes with tons of new insights. Keep it up, love it!

    Hello you two, great video, a nice trip that you are planning, can you please write me again about the weather program that you are using, thank you very much and I am excited to see how it goes, see you soon and good winds...👍

      Hi Richard
      Thanks for your comment. The software for iOS is called LuckGrib. It‘s a one off purchase (no ongoing subscription fees). There are different service levels. I believe standard let‘s you download and view Grib files on broadband, then, one level up you can do weather routing via broadband and finally the offshore version also lets you download, view and weather routing via SSB email or satellite (e.g. iridium). It has a lot of parameters to play with, so, not simply „Google Maps and go…“
      We have tried a one month subscription with PredictWind but for us it‘s not worth the substantial subscription fee for satellite use…

    Hi love your channel, just one question what was the routing / weather system did you say it was call Lockgrid ?

    • @sailingpolaris
      @sailingpolaris  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching, it‘s called LuckGrib. It is for iOS devices. Oh, and BTW, we are not not sponsored by them… (unlike other channels 😉).
      I think you find it in the App store.
      There are I think three one off purchase levels. The standard one lets you download and watch Grib files via broadband internet. The next level lets you do weather routing and departure planning via broadband. The offshore add on lets you download and watch Grib files via SSB radio or satellite and do weather routing. It‘s all one off purchases, no continuous subscription fees and Grib data are free once you have purchased the software. It’s quite sophisticated but requires a lot of input / customising. There is a superb online manual / description as well. www.luckgrib.com. Definitely not a Google Map and go… Let me know if you have any further questions.
