Myself and my 2 boys were disappointed you weren’t at the ploughing this year Adrian, i think every influencer in Ireland was there lapping up the attention! But i have to give you the full respect as while others were posting photos with companies and selling there merch you posted a video of how happy you were that your calves were better and were out at your work as normal. You didn’t let stardom change you, an honest hard grafter mate. Always encouraging others to give stuff a go. I’ll shake your hand one day sir
I’d of liked to of got to the ploughing but the good weather really did allow me to get caught up and finish a lot of work. I think it’s important to try and stay grounded when on social media as it can consume you very easily. Tell your boys I said hi and hopefully we’ll catch you all another time. 👍
I love the cottage, anyone who suggests tearing it down doesn't need to live in it. The place is full of character and history, you've done the right thing preserving it till the time comes when someone wants to do more. 👍❤️
I said it before and I’ll say it again , Adrian I don’t know how you get through so much stuff along with rearing the family and looking out for your elderly parents. It’s unreal what you get through lad. Respect to you.
Adrian, another way of thinking, the cottage was there before your dad was born, possibly even before your great grandparents. With it being local to you, it is, in it's own way, a part of your familiy's history. It's easy to just replace, an excavator would have it away in half a day, but that cottage has heart, no new modern dwelling will ever replace the history. Great work, as always 😁😁😁
Wow, you were like a whirlwind and look at it now. It's always incredible to see what you can do with a bit of work and paint that spills in all the right places. Amazing.👍
The work you've done, and the look of the Cottage, is a real credit to you Adrian. It's clearly a testament to your skill and vision - and a great break from the Day Job. Thanks for the Video.
Adrian being half Irish I so remember cottages like yours when we came back to Ireland every couple of years. Unfortunately a lot of them went to rack & ruin and I'm so glad you're fixing it up for future generations. You've done a grand job 🎉🎉🎉
Adrian, we in South Africa often do the same with old old houses. It is a fantastic undertaking and gives a person so much pleasure to see the wonderful transformation of any structure being renovated. I have done the same to two very dilapidated houses. This is a wonderful endeavor sir and your videos give thousands of people much viewing pleasure. Best regards from South Africa
I recall my dad saying one of the first things to do with an old place is fix the roof. No sense doing anything until you can be sure the rain won’t come along and undo it. True you might have to fix enough of the building to support the new roof, but other than that, roof first.
Great job Adrian getting the cottage from where it was to now. Old houses have a character about them that new modern houses just dont have and never will. Itll be some house when done, but all in good time. 👍
Fair play Aidrian. Between... planning, procuring material, tools and narrative. Up and down off ladders, recording film and cutting silage. Great show. Thanks... If only we had you building the children's hospital.
@@IFarmWeFarma great transformation to the cottage, great work Adrain, if you were able to paint the tin on the roof it would just finish off the cottage's transformation, look forward to seeing what you do inside, keep up the good work,
As a mechanical engineer thats the first time I've actually seen a gutter bolt used for its original purpose on a gutter 😂. Great workmanship you always do a professional job whatever you are doing and put the extra effort in its great to see
I first found your videos when you started clearing back to the cottage, it’s great to see you restoring it and I’m learning lots from you in my own cottage and future animal owner journey! Thanks a mil for sharing
Wow what a big difference you have made to the little cottage. When I see how great it looks and hear you say it will need a 90% rebuild I can hardly believe it when I see the work you have done on the frontage. A full rebuild wouldn’t have the same character.
My admiration for you shows no bounds, such a practical guy who just sees a job that needs doing and gets on with it, not only that but every task that I have seen you do turns out excellently, well done, keep up the good work.
I think its great you saved this cottage. I admire your building skills. You can do all the required repairs. From a ruin to a useful & liveable building in a short time away. Hallo, from Australia 🇦🇺 🦘 From Julie 🐨
I was nervous when I hit play, but I love what you’re doing to preserve this adorable and still serviceable little cottage. You’re right, it looks bright and happy, even if my Czech side is itching to break up the white with blue floral motifs. 😂 Looking forward to seeing what you do with it next.
Loved Adrian's words of wisdom regarding your work on the cottage. It's a job, but a relief from day-to-day farm duties, brings you and your family joy and even if you aren't skilled in all the trades you can teach yourself how to make repairs. (Usually with youtube! 😊)
Brilliant video, I’ve loved watching the depression disappear from the cottage from when you first uncovered it and as your good lady wife said; it now looks happy. Can’t wait for the next stage 😊 I look forward to every Sunday. Sarah 🇬🇧
Nice little quaint cottage definitely worth saving. Wonder when it was built. Obviously needs to be modernized a bit. The paint job alone really makes a huge difference. Well done. Greetings from Canada.
I have been a plasterer for 34 years and I now know how you feel when you watch builders doing farming videos ! good job though fit to last another 100 years maybe
I just found your channel. I love how it makes you happy to make the house happy. It’s a beautiful spot. Hello from California. I look at your playlist. ☘️
Really enjoyed watching you do this . Thankyou for showing. I like how the splashed paint look is . Very nice . Take care .yes your wife caught it . It looks happy for sure .shines .
You and your family have turned that cottage into a home.. simple.. that's why it's happy.. excellent work as usual.. I would say I'd give you a hand but I know the kick you get out of achieving this yourself.. stay safe 🏴
The paint made a great change to the cottage. It is very happy looking now great to see it being looked after it has a lot of memories in its time for them that lived there
Oh you are coming along nicely on the weaning house for the girls. lol It would look nice with a modern addition joined to it by a glassed in corridor type thing. Greetings from Kentucky, USA.
Beautiful. I love the white, just as traditional Irish cottages should be. They used to paint the corrugated steel red, green or black. It looks great when painted. Well done!
A job well worth doing. Whilst the coat of paint does nothing for being able to live in the house, it most certainly makes you want to live in it! Sinead saying that it "looks happy" is a perfect description. It probably is quite excited too that it knows that it will have further improvements done to it. Somehow, that coat of paint has put the soul back in the house. Of course, the filling of the cracks and the new gutters actually do a lot for the preservation of the house.
I feel Adrian this cottage is coming along very good. The effort and skills you have put into the renovation is 💯%. Total turn around with a fresh coat of paint and new gutters. Well done 😊
I’m so happy to see so much progress on the little house!! Your wife is right! It looks happy now, I can hear its big sigh of relief all the way across the pond. Can’t wait to see what you do with it next.❤️🐝🤗
The cottage is looking really nice with the facia, gutters, and fresh coat of paint. I would agree with your wife, that it looks happy. If I have a hesitation to starting a job, I go back to something a co-worker told me a long time ago, "First, you have to want to do it". That helps me get going sometimes.
I was very excited when I seen the picture for this video, I've been waiting for the cottage to be worked on again. It's such a charming little place.👍😄
FFS..I about fell out of my chair laughing at the paint 'getting the all of window sills...even around the corner'. It looks like a completely different cottage with the exterior walls repaired, new gutters, and painted. Awesome! What an absolutely gorgeous area in the aerial views. You are absolutely right that ANYONE can do these projects, you just have to get over your fears of doing a bad job. If you do a bad job, you learn something from it, correct it, then do a better job on the next project and so on. Just like everything, practice and you get better. You will find that the cost of a job is about 1/3 materials and 2/3 labor. So, if you look at it this way: spend 1/3 of the job cost on the materials, 1/3 of the job cost on tools, you are paying yourself the remaining 1/3 as profit (sweat equity). Your next job will cost even less and go quicker because you now have experience AND tools. They both grow with every project you do. At 61, I do nearly all of my own vehicle and home maintenance, have done many renovation projects on several of my own houses as well as rental properties, and helped family and friends because I have : 1) little fear of trying something new, 2) a vast array of skills from doing projects, and 3) a sizeable collection of tools. I figured out long ago, why would I want to pay someone else good money to do crappy work for me when I can do that myself for free! Seriously, start small, give new things a try, watch videos (like this one and nearly anything else you want to try is on TH-cam), and work to succeed.
Good work, the cottage brought me to your channel, turns out I enjoy the farming or digger restoration videos just as much! Great content with all kinds of variety!
You're right it is a happy home, you're happy with what you're doing to it and it comes through in your videos. Very glad you didn't tear it down and can't wait for the next instalment!
I’d find the amount that needs doing overwhelming but you have a fantastic attitude to breaking it down into smaller jobs that are always rewarding when you stand back. Great video
I cannot agree more. Two things I’ve been in building all my life. But decided to build my own home 2 hours from the nearest city. I’m using salvage materials.
