Nice job!!! Is that a cast wheel or billet? I have been told only the billet wheels whistle with the T51R mod not so much cast wheels with the T51R mod... ???
cheers! its a cast wheel turbo and whistles really well, cant see a billet wheel making much difference, they're just more durable and possibly efficient id say

@@JT-152 turbos working completely fine, biggest problem people have with turbos in general （especially cheap turbos with no info provided) is a bad sized oil line or badly routed return
How large is the actual surge groove on yours? I made one for my holset on my truck and it literally made it quieter... I’m wondering if I need to make the groove bigger?
Interesting cause that’s basically what I have.. guess I’ll try to pull the sleeve out a little to make the groove bigger. It’s about 2mm right now and like I said it quieter. Has to be the only reason it isn’t louder. Thanks for the reply man.
@@mattd5117 what is your theory on the t51r sounds mod ? i have a new SXE 257 Borgwarner, and that one is quiet as a mouse.. i am not running a blow off, but no turbo whine ore compressor stall.
if i had to guess I'd say the big wide anti surge slot causes the lack of dose , or not running enough boost to work efficiently not too sure how the t51 style slot goes with dose

groove is about 5mm, and depth as long as it needs to be to just get behind the start of the wheel with a 4mm gap

How did the turbo hold up? Still boosting or have you’ve replaced it

not really practical on something that small unfortunately, would want to have a big 3 or 4 inch inlet
