I have always had a fascination for ballet since I was 4 and I really regret not starting earlier when I had the chance. My father never had the money and refused to help me enroll, but now I’m taking my life in my own hands as a 23 year old and this will be the start of my dream life. 🎉❤

I was a dancer my who life, but when I was 12, my parents went through a financial crisis and me, being the youngest of three, was the one who suffered the exit from my ballet classes. I always wanted to be a Rockette...jajaja After I had my daughters, I started again with Flamenco, Belly Dancing, Ballet.....So, I understand how you feel. I am now 53 and still dance just because it is something that resides so deep within us that we just cannot stop. I am still fit because of it, and hope to continue doing it for long time to come.

@@velmariemerced6678 I also had to stop ballet when I was 12 due to the same reason. I'm 19 now and hoping to start again. I always felt like I was too late to start. will I be able to do it?

same it also started from watching tv shows when I was 4 my cake topper was a ballerina, so that is when I really want to learn ballet, my mom was about to enroll .e but when she asked me I said no(i was a very shy child) so she didnt push me to go.... 20 years after i'm still regretting it... hopefully this year i can start ballet classes already ( i have to move place because there is mo dance school in my area) but for now Im practicing and focusing on flexibility and strength :)))

I'm 63 (soon to be 64) and was kicked out of ballet at age 7 because I was "a little dumpling; not at all a swan" along with nastier words. I went into Highland dancing, which I didn't like. I flirted with ballet over the years, and today, I'll be taking this class. I'll update my comment once I've finished the class 😊

I'm in my 50's, overweight and I haven't danced ballet for 30 years. I loved it so much as a young person, and allowed life to get in the way of continuing. I do yoga regularly, but decided to re-learn some ballet. Wow, I had forgotten how much muscle and balance this dance requires. Somehow it seemed so much easier in my 20's lol. Thanks for getting me back on track; I hope to continue practicing and getting my form back.

I'm 31 after 2 babies and same for me I use to dance often as a younger person both ballet, jazz , country and ballroom and I feel as though I have never danced. The more we begin again though I believe our bodies will remember our body is amazing praising God that we are still able to learn and grow at any age

I have taken about 10 ballet lessons as an adult. Five with one teacher, and five with another teacher. They were supposed to be to beginning classes. But both of them were just teaching steps in order to do a dance routine.
I wanted to learn all the movements, so I can become more flexible, and more graceful. I wanted to learn the way as if I was three years old and didn’t know anything, because I didn’t. But they both taught me as though I would remember everything upon one hearing. Each time they would both say we talked about this last week or we learned that two weeks ago. I couldn’t even remember the first thing about it because the whole vocabulary is foreign to me. So very frustrating. Glad to find you. Thanks.

I'm in my 50's, overweight and struggling health-wise--PCOS, Type 2 diabetic and other issues. I'm changing my eating habits and incorporating exercise (cardio, strength training)into my schedule. I've always wanted to do ballet but dance lessons are a luxury when you're being raised and supported by a single mom. I'd like to incorporate ballet into my routine even if it's from my own living room: it just seems so elegant, peaceful and hopefully help with my flexibility. I just hope at this stage in life I can do it. ❤

I didn't plan on doing this today nor did I plan on learning ballet I just came to watch it for fun and I am far from being a ballerina but for some reason, I got my butt up and just followed everything from this video like I was learning a real ballet class and I actually love everything of it! Normally I am sooo lazy and sooo unmotivated to work out but this THIS THIS helped me get up. Thank you for this video! I finally found something I love that won't make me back down! This was my first time doing ballet (well since my mom tried to make me a ballerina when I was 2) and definitely NOT my last time! Will definitely do another one tomorrow!

I'm an adult...and admittedly I'm very overweight, lacking in coordination and flexibility, and I take a while to learn things.
My first try with this wasn't the best, but I still had fun! I had to give up after exercise 3 (I went back to the 1st exercise instead) since my balance and coordination are so bad that I was close to falling a few times.
But I'm sure that I'll get better at it with time and practice, so for now I'm sticking to the barre exercises to build up some strength and to get more familiar with all the movements.
Thank you for making this so fun and for giving such good explanations! They really helped me a lot and while I can't keep up just yet, I'm positive it won't be long until I can!

I always wanted to be a ballerina ever since I was a little girl but I thought it was something that you learned when you got older, like any other career. Had I known that you need to learn from a very young age, I would've probably told my mom to enroll me in classes. Now, after watching the first few minutes of this video I feel inspired to finally try it out. I'm obviously never going to be professional dancer, but I'll get a little taste of what that's like 😊

I took ballet from age 5 to 10. I remember loving it! I ended up quitting because once you got to a certain age, it became extremely competitive. And I was just there for fun. I'm now 30, married with 3 kids and a full-time job, and took my second-first ballet class! I wanted to feel like a child again today. And this did the trick. My passion for beautiful and fun movement of my body to lovely music has been reignited! Thank you, Alessia, for making these beginner-friendly videos. You are Fabulous. Fabulous fabulous, such fun and light-hearted way of teaching you bring. I am in my mid-30s, have been interested in ballet for so long but haven't done anything about it due to time constraints and then the pandemic... This is my first step, I am so ready and I do intend to start beginner's lessons this year. 2023 it is.
PS--- Could you please do a video specifically on hand movements? I find ballet hands so beautiful, would love to learn. Thank youuu

This was so much fun! Thank you for sharing. I haven't taken a ballet class, since I was little, and even then I only took a few. This class made my inner child happy :)

Haven’t done ballet for years since I was in my 40’s and I wanna start again. I have always loved this workout and I want to be flexible and in shape physically again. I tried pure Barr but too boring

I feel your pain. I was hit by a car when young & have permanent problems from that but love ballet. Like you said, just have to be careful with it

    • @TJ-kz1ul
      @TJ-kz1ul ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@AlexandraNMorgan I too can understand your pain. Do you do yoga at all? Yoga, ballet, (being careful with both) and walking are what keep me pain-free. I was thrown off a horse into a steel gate when I was a child, I also fell off a horse onto an ice patch and was knocked out in my 20s. I've also had other serious injuries. Needless to say, I do not ride horses anymore, but these things really help me.

@@TJ-kz1ul wow, sorry you went through all that but glad you've found things you can do. I do pilates, walking, ballet, ballroom, and would like to do Feldenkrais method
