I agree, I think its good for home cooks to see that even when you follow a recipe as written, it still doesnt always turn out as a successful one. Ive been through this many times over the years myself and even went against my instincts as you did. Its part of what happens in cooking, especially baking, and how we all learn and get experience. I am so sorry that the recipe didn't turn out as hoped. I have had Chocolate Cobbler, and it was more of a "pudding cake" if you've ever had one of them. The cake part is on the top and underneath is a rich, silky sauce, just right for spooning over the scoop of ice cream served on top 😋 I'm wondering if it had baked a little longer if it would have made a difference.🤷♀️
Oh, well ... as you said, lesson learned. At least you had a tried and true backup recipe. Thanks for sharing it.

Hi Dannie, I wish cooking longer would have fixed it. I think it just had too much liquid. It wasn’t bad but the liquid was too much. The second one really is wonderful. 😊
It’s always disappointing when recipes don’t work, all the time & ingredients used. I have found the same thing with chocolate pudding recipes myself. Thank you for reminding us that when things don’t work, it can often be the recipe and not our cooking skills.

Don’t think it could have been fixed. I thought it sounded like an awful lot of sugar, but since I’m trying to stay away from sweets, I thought maybe it’s just me.
Perhaps if you wanted to eat it all at once (well, for a large family dinner for instance) and spoon the “soup” over ice cream…eh strike that… you did right by tossing it and starting over.
I like that you didn’t just scrap the video. It’s important especially for new cooks to see that sometimes things don’t work and other times there are happy surprises (upside down pizza)!

So sorry the recipe didn't turn out, but thanks for reminding us that all recipes aren't always as we expect them to be. I just hate wasting the ingredients. Your own tested recipe looked delicious.

oh man sorry that didn't work. silly recipes sometimes . Ugh frustrating . I followed muffin recipe to a tea one time and it didn't work out for me at all lol. Nice share you two it's good to share that not everything works out. I am glad you share your take on it at the end because at first it sounded like well at least it taste good lol . Like the updates. and I am glad you shared the one you made too. I like yours it looked much better.
