    1. Elevate your shampoo and conditioner (exfoliating shampoo) (remoisturizing conditioner)
    2. Don't wash daily
    3. Trim split ends & shape hair as it grows
    4. Manage your physical, mental, and dietary health

    Simple technique that I’ve used to remove excess sebum and those oily flakes:
    1. 1 tbsp yogurt
    2. Some fresh aloevera
    3. 1 tbsp fenugreek seeds
    4. 2 spoons lemon
    5. 1 tsp honey
    6. 1 tbsp Olive oil
    Blend all these and apply the paste onto the scalp twice a week. Your flakes will be gone in 4 applications, upto 2 weeks. Works like a gem.

    I have really long hair again after having it short for 8 years. I even had a buzzcut over 20 years ago in college. I don’t know why but sometimes my hair just doesn’t want to grow and then at other times it can’t be stopped. It seems random! I’m glad I pushed through awkward stages in the past and my mom didn’t want me to give up once 😂 She likes my hair also and it’s kinda like hers. One tip, avoid the bottled Green Tea brands and boil your water and steep your own Green Tea for 3-5 minutes at home on your own. Newman's Own Green Tea is the best. Since I had a ton of stress lately and am mentally exhausted as I had no real break since almost a year (and I suffer from depression and a tiny bit anxiety), I truly appreciate you telling us these things. It could be that my thinning hair is not only due to a genetic cause but also because of the health of my body and mind. I will look into growing my hair out again as this was my plan since years. And (since you said so) I will try improving my health through sports and see if that helps my hair grow better and stops the falling out of my hair.

    A problem I've had is that my hair gets super oily. I've gone 2 or 3 days without washing my hair and It almost looks like I've covered my hair with gel or something maybe not super greasy look but definitely weird. I think it's just something my body has an issue with and I never really worried about but I think I need to take care of this issue before it turns into a serious issue.

      Your hair will be oily at first, but as it gets used to being washed less often, it'll take longer to get oily. I only wash my hair once a week. It gets oily after about 4 or 5 days. Once it gets oily I just use dry shampoo, and that makes my hair dry again until I reach the 7th day then wash again. Dry shampoo is very good to use in between washes. Gives you volume and takes away the oily feel and look

    Washing your hair will strip all your sebum thus triggering your body to produce more/excessive oils resulting in a vicious cycle. I recently decided to stop using all products and just wash my hair every few days (daily some weeks) with just water. I massage my scalp really good and just rinse with water. I will say, first few months are very tough; it takes time for your body to realize you are no longer stripping oil from your hair before it actually cuts back and over producing. Once it re-adjust, results are awesome. I get nothing but compliments all the time and people refuse to believe that I just use water. It does take time getting used to, but my hair feels and looks so much stronger and natural. But I will admit, the natural feel and lifestyle it is not for everyone.

    • @TravWhiteStyle

    Hey man, my hair is the same length and straight just like yours. If I don't use any product or do any maintenance my hair falls super flat and I'm not a fan of the look. I love the way you gave it some volume and definition in this video. Do you have a tutorial or could you share the products and routine you did to have your hair look the way it does in this video? Love the content thanks!

    Hey Trav! Love the content! One of the tips that I like, but also don’t understand as much as I’d like to, is trimming your hair as you grow to shape it. My confusion or question is how often would be ideal to trim my hair? My hair goal Is like the Witcher or like yours. I love that classic long length of past the collarbone but not quite to the nipples

    Obviously genetics play a BIG role...but when sebum oil builds up in your follicles it slows down growth and thins your hair, and the sensitivity of your follicles to DHT in the sebum is believed to lead to hair loss (that's the genetics part). But when you cleanse your pores it allows the follicles to open up and grow faster...what other hair growth tips do you have?

    • @TravWhiteStyle
      @TravWhiteStyle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Great question Samuel!
      You could do a couple things...
      1. Dry shampoo (it absorbs excess moisture from your hair without diving into scalp exfoliation)
      2. Rinse with water. Water will get the dirt and sweat out without drying out your scalp or stripping away too much natural oil

      So I’d test out an every other day wash. Sometimes if you was your hair often it can kickstart sebum production to try and moisturize your hair more often. The other option is to check out a supplement like Hims to see if you can stimulate more production

    So how do you find out if your DHT is too high?

    • @TravWhiteStyle
      @TravWhiteStyle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can test it with your doctor, also there are home kits to test DHT -- www.walkinlab.com/labcorp-dihydrotestosterone-dht-blood-test.html but I think the best indicator is looking at your grandfather's hair on your mom's side, as he typically passes the hair gene to you (not ALWAYS, but mostly)...

    Hey Trav, I have a dry scalp. I apply coconut oil on the scalp on alternate days(at night, before going to sleep). I wash it off next day using water only. Then, for the day that I washed, I don't apply oil for that night. And the next day, while bathing, I avoid using water on my hair. And also, at night, i apply oil on my hair again. I Shampoo and condition only one day, which is mostly Sunday. Am i dealing with this the right way? A reply would be greatly appreciated!!!

    When you say "Don't wash your hair daily" does that mean don't use shampoo/conditioner? Or just simply running it under the faucet? I work a 9-5 job and shower at night. So in order for my hair to look normal when I wear a headband, I have to run it under the faucet to get it down. Is this going to hurt my hair? Thanks!

    Trav,
    When people say "only wash your hair 1, 2, or 3 times a week" do you mean to AVOID getting it wet everyday in the shower to, or is that ok?
    I just started growing my hair out after retiring from the military and I usually wash my hair 2 or 3 times a week, but I do rinse and condition in the shower every night. (I often get sweaty in the gym so showers are essential.)
    Should I continue this or change it?
