    You Australians are so lucky! Your aluminum boats are phenomenal. Here in the states they old boats are glorified canoes or $20,000 fishing rigs. I’d love a no nonsense “Tinny” like yours. Great video!

      Do you not have bare tinny over there?

      @@joshcook4515 We do, but the freeboard is about half of what I see in this video. Our aluminum boats were primarily made for lake and pond fishing, maybe an ocean bay. It seems like Australian boats are more robust and have a generous freeboard.
      Also, aluminum boat manufacturers are scaling down production. Everyone wants a fishing kayak. There’s also a big trend of building “tiny bass boats” with old aluminum boats. That’s fine and all but with the amount of casting decking and rod lockers, live wells and seating people put in them, they’re only good for one person! Haha.

    Awesome fit out guys. Looks great! I reckon that extra weight up the front of the boat will help with ride quality too. Enjoy

    You should use epoxy resin to paint timber, not oil based paint if you hope for durability 🤷‍♂️

    Did you use anything like tefgel for the stainless screws into the ribs?

    What aluminum were you using to frame out the storage and the bow deck area? T5 or T6 angle? Also what was the dimensions?

      Thanks for watching the video mate. 🤙
      We purchased the aluminium extrusions from bunnings, you can choose from angle, channel, shs and others to suit your exact needs.

    Nice build bro, im not sure if you know but careful putting different metals into alli hey bro 😊 it can cause cathodic reactions degrading the metals over time 😊

    Is that aluminium
    If it is are you welding it and how do you weld it

    • @aussie_outbacks
      @aussie_outbacks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, no welding for this project. All connections are done using stainless steel screws or bolts with teflon washers for separation.

    Washers under the screw heads?

    • @aussie_outbacks
      @aussie_outbacks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching the video mate. We wanted to keep the screws flush with the deck, but if for some reason the timber starts to lift washers will be an easy solution if necessary.
