It’s refreshing to watch a tinny build video that isn’t a hack job 😅I love the crab pot storage and Im definitely stealing that fuel line through a gland idea. Awesome work!
Turned out awesome! I wouldn't hesitate bringing that boat out in the bays in Alaska to set some pots and slay some rock bass and halibut. I've got a little 12ft rated for 10hp i want to beef up and run my 30hp 3cyl 2 stroke yamaha. Best motor ever!
I had an old tinny until the alloy around the bung hole popped out. Metal fatigue sent us to Davey Jones locker. On closer inspection after recovery the hull was full of pin holes from landing it on sand so many times. Happy boating.
Freakin sweet!!! I'd have liked to see how it sits in the water and drives with the extra weight on top. Any plans for a shakedown and/or fishing video?
I'm guessing it's something with phosphoric acid in it. That's usually what's used to make aluminium shiny white looking like that. It removes all the oxidation (rust) and leaves pure aluminium behind. If you spray it with a sealer or chemical conversion coating soon after, then the pure white colour will remain. If you don't treat it quickly enough it will build a layer of oxidation (aluminium oxide) from contact with the oxygen in the air.
Excellent work. I hope it's your own boat cause otherwise it's the most over capitalised 4m sea hunter in Australia though. 15k worth of work and materials for a 7k boat.
Nice job, how does it sit on the water with the extra weight up front? I suspect it is just a river/lake boat with such a small motor and low freeboard.
You are a great welder... I'd build a cap that goes over the boat when it is being stored.... will keep it fresh and new and out of UV rays breaking stuff down
tinnie was 2500 rims and tires 1500 trailer components 500 ( think i got about 4-500 dollar discount) motor parts 650 george donated about 1500 in ali all up i paid around 7k plus georges donation takes it to around 8.5k think i paid way too much for the tinnie to begin with and dont need expensive rims and tires but wanted them to be the same as the car for offroad adventures
@@FishingWithTimmyTurtle legend thanks mate! I just paid 7k for my tinny, tohatsu 20hp. Both 2015 models. Might just do some marine ply lol. Cheers man
@@Stanspliff69you would be looking at $100+ per hour for labour too if you wanted a shop to do it. Dont know how many hours he put in it over the month but id say it was a lot. That boat would probably cost a lot more than its worth if he was paying for labour.
Just a quick note?you really need to get some dust masks/particle masks as galvanised metal is terrible for your lungs?Well done with the renovation 👍?
Well done! Now I know what happens to all those boats that have been sitting derelict, next to the guys barn for the past 20 years. Pick them up for a song-n-dance, and turn those ugly Betty's into a prom queen. ( no disrespect to anyone named Betty or to those dating or married to a Betty. There was no harm intended. ;)
Almost every boat I've seen that had plywood decks and/or floors wind up rotting out in a year or two. I had to make some seat tops for a 1969 14ft V-hull aluminum boat I bought. So, I used plywood, sealed it with urethane and then covered them with indoor/outdoor carpet. They rotted and warped after one year! Since I don't have a mig/tig welder I replaced the rotted seat tops with double width 2x10's and finished them with UV resistant spar urethane. I installed two seat mounts and bought two very comfortable padded boat seats (I'm old)! I added a brand new 18hp outboard, a new Garmin fish finder, new LED lights, new Minn Kota trolling motor and a new Li Po 100ah battery to run the trolly and the lights. The trailer only needed tires and new bunks. I can live without a casting deck and flat floor. I do all of my fishing sitting down anyway!
Love the crab pot holders, bro u need to get a patent for that, it will take off 💥💥💥
Great video Timmy. Well done on another boat build mate
Nice build! Glad to see that I'm not the only one that welds barefoot!

Respect the amount of welding you do. You do it right too so major props!💪💪

Awesome videos man, been meaning to watching your content over the years… 🤙🏽
awesome video, thank you for sharing it! i enjoyed it very much
Great video and great little project you did there. What was the wash you were using that brought the aluminium back looking like new?

Nice little tinny! I've got a 12f glass with a 20 merc as a tender l love it.
i hope to also see some barra n jack fishing out of it
Freakin sweet!!! I'd have liked to see how it sits in the water and drives with the extra weight on top.

Simple and clean. No wasted effort, but 100% able to catch fish.
GREAT JOB1!! Boat looks amazing
Hey Timmy, What was the stuff in the blue spray pack to clean up the aluminium hull??
I'm guessing it's something with phosphoric acid in it. That's usually what's used to make aluminium shiny white looking like that. It had me tossed and thanks for the information 👍
It's most likely alloy bright
Aluminum brightener

Great Job what is the aluminium wash off cleaner ?
Nice job, how does it sit on the water with the extra weight up front? I suspect it is just a river/lake boat with such a small motor and low freeboard.
What do you spray first ? With the garden hand pump ?
nice work. what was the weight of dingy b4 and after? ty
Absolutely friggin mint mate, great job 🍺🍺
Epic Timmy. Wish I could do this with mine. Great to see you back. No PVC pipes this time? 😂
Well done Timmy! Looks mint mate
Which aluminium leaner do you use?
This just popped up on my TH-cam feed, I recognise the name, are you the fella that used to fish of a pallet with an electric motor ?
That’s the boy
@@jackjames1543 and now he’s just quit TH-cam :(
My feet burn just looking at that boat.
Great work 👍🇨🇦

That was awesome!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Fantastic montage and result. Well done.
What was the chemical you used to bring it up so clean?
Would love to know what chemical you were spraying on it to clean it???
All that effort and spray can the trailer
Epic! You've become quite the boat builder mate! Is that what you do now? Do you work for George?
was just about to say that. goes pretty good! dunno about the lack of shoes though, ally die grinding burs and swarf isnt the kindest on ur feet hah
Nice job fellas
What chemical are you using to clean with?
It would be alibright
That's a lot of work for a small boat. Was it financially viable?
Nice little project.
What is that blue spray you cleaned it with .
Cheers
Was going to ask the same! Some kind of aluminum stripper?
It’s a acid, they used it on his big boat aswell in the build of that
Great stuff 👍🍻
Just about to finish off my boat.trailer to go☹️
Great work
What did you spray on the hull to clean the aluminium? 👍🏻🇮🇪
ali king then coated with nyalic
I love how the whole front deck is one big ass lid..
Nice video. Get a dust mask my friend I've painted cars a long time and it catches up
The Turtle strikes again👍👍👍
Nice stand for the trailer 1:11
Looking to get my 3.75 tinny fitted out like that. Whats the price approx?
tinnie was 2500
rims and tires 1500
trailer components 500 ( think i got about 4-500 dollar discount)
motor parts 650
george donated about 1500 in ali
all up i paid around 7k plus georges donation takes it to around 8.5k

Friggin sick. Top job Timmy.

Did you play this whole build out or just wing it as you went? Want to make my 14 footer this cool
just winged it as i went. had some idea but just added things along the way
Legend 👊🏾👍🏽
Pretty cool.
Very nicely done but maybe you're going to need a bigger engine; at least a 30hp.
The dude has talent
Now, time to go fishing !
Now comes the naming and first maden voyage and fishing expedition.......you gonna smash a bottle of wine on her for the first set sail? 😊😊
Did the boat have a name?
Looking good, is it rated to 40hp?
rated to 35 but after everything i did would take a 40-60 comfortably i think depending on motor and weight
You guy grinding beside new plates for boat building. Next time put some cover over the new plates😅, sorry you did it later.
Just a quick note?you really need to get some dust masks/particle masks as galvanised metal is terrible for your lungs?Well done with the renovation 👍?

Nice keg stand
Молодцы 👍👍👍
Tiny 🫣😭 dude that’s a big boat compared to my nutshell but I have the same engine 😅
Wait a minute was Timmy wearing shoes for some of this vid ... never thought id see that happen
I love the whole rig but she needs a new 4 stroke.👍
awesome
Класс. Это когда руки золотые.
What does a rebuild like this cost? Gotta have several hundred hours into it dont you?
How's the lungs feeling brother 🤣 nothing better than a fresh coat keeps the covid away 👌🤙
