So many points in that story I thought that the attacker was going to get the upper hand and the story would go tragic as they normally do, but no...Susan just said "Not today, Satan!" That is going to be one hell of a story to tell at reunions and events and gatherings.
As a ER RN I can tell you the years of working in ER is traumatic and eye opening in what kind of people are in the world. You lose your innocence and reality slaps in in the face. You become a survivor and a fighter. Well done sue!
Well thank you for doing your job. I know I and a lot of other people definitely can not! You nurses are the ones doing the real hands on work and don’t get enough credit. Especially if y’all are ripping open rib cages and massaging hearts! I could never!!! 😭❤️
I’m a paramedic and I can definitely attest to this. I always say if it wasn’t for ER Nurses the entire system would collapse. Y’all are some bad asses and rarely get the credit you guys deserve.
Surprisingly a lot of the vets who went to Vietnam were conscripted teenagers, who received next to no training before being rushed out to deployment. Not discrediting Susan or anything, just sayin.
Vietnam vets were some of the worst trained soliders the modern US has ever had. Plenty of them were simply drafted and almost instantly shipped off to Vietnam with essentially no training. There’s stories of guys who before arriving in Vietnam had never even fired a gun before, I’ve even heard one where a guy said throughout his time there he never even learned how to use his pistol and would keep messing up and jamming it. What that lady did was amazing, there’s not a chance in hell I could’ve done it, but calling that degenerate a trained killer is most likely a pretty big stretch.
Susan’s story is covered on an episode of the TV show “I Survived”. It’s chilling to hear her recount the events of that day. She’s remorseful for ending his life, but his actions put his death in motion. I’m thankful she survived.
it's covered on a lot of these channels to. i;ve hear this story like 10 times now but i still like hearing them. I rewatch some creepypastas cause they are just that good.
im thinking a big factor was her being smart enough to quickly realize that he was there to kill her and quickly got in an aggressive "do everything i possibly can or i'm dead" mentality. i think a lot of people in her place would be in more of a "i have to escape" mentality rather than having an animalistic kind of drive to fight. people can do amazing things in high adrenaline life or death moments
I still work at the hospital Susan worked at. I remember when this happened well. She was on our union negotiation team for years. She was the perfect person to have sit across the table from administration and fight for us. I adore her!
Awesome thing about the whole Bebo situation was, he was extremely focussed on not hurting anyone on the ground when crashing. Went over the water, and selecting that island where he crashed with that thought in mind.
Holy crap, story 2. Story 2 was exactly what I wanted to hear after so many stories from Mr. Ballen of the tragic ends of most people. Susan is legendary.
yup so many ppl in horror movie and IRL just shoot the person once or stab em once and leave the weapon right fucking there and run but don't make it away and end up getting murdered. finish the job kill the intruder and then wait ur fate from the jury later right.
YES…she is definitely legendary. I cheered her on throughout his telling of the story. Funniest part - the way Ballen says, (impersonating the trepiditious neighbor) “Okaaaayy…. come on in and use my phone…” 🤣🤣🤣 I had to rewind and watch his brilliant retelling a couple times. 👍🏼😂
Oh dude I know. I was in my car listening and just started clapping and hooting. Felt like when my home team wins a championship! I'm still pumped about it!
John, you have my deepest sympathy, being stuck in Minnesota, man what a horror! I lived out in that State twice, both times I loved the people I loved the land, but despised the governor and the liberals who ruled like I were in Northern Virginia (another place I lived). I was never so happy to get out of the Army and move from that beautiful screwed up State and come home to South Dakota where the Deer and the Antelope play, where there is ZERO income tax, and a man can breath the free air of the USA as it was in the 50's. Where conceal Carry is not considered Constitutional freedom and no permit is required. Live on John, I know there are perks and downfalls for every State but having lived on the West Coast, the East Coast, in the Desert South West, and South Dakota, I know of what I Speak. I do miss Arizona when the snows of the Dakota's blow but when I lost my wonderful wife of 51 years and 5 days, I lost my urge to drive our old Motor Home South, now I sit in my recliner and dream of the wonderful days when she walked by my side out in the Mohave Desert, down the streets of Washington DC, through the trees in Washington, and the forests of Minnesota as well as across the prairies and streams of the Dakota's.
I respect Bebo's integrity to not involve any victims in his last moments. Some in that same situation are angry and want to take it out on others, but he just wanted to have a last bit of fun.
@@thedanielmarsh You should rethink that statement. How do you get into the military to begin with? Bootcamp training. Then drills everyday. Don't matter what your job is for your branch
The reason Bebo could pull off the stunts was because he wasn't nervous. He truly didn't care how it went and he just wanted to try it. Normal people can't do that because they would be nervous and afraid to die.
This is true. Nervousness or being scared is what grounds us in reality and stops us from doing things that could hurt or kill us. Man just wanted to be free and that's what he did

The sky king is an example of how this world seriously sucks. Dude obviously had talent he was never using and got stuck working a dead end job because of the way our society is structured. I know I am a good hard worker that has commitment and loyalty to my job and country or countries I represent, but despite nearly 300 applications around the world in the area of foreign policy, applying for the very bottom jobs to work my way up, I have never been given a real opportunity. Henceforth I am also working full time at a call centre and barely afford to pull by, but the worst thing is my unhappiness.
I’m so so sorry it’s a lot of us out not living our dreams it’s painful reality. I do hope that you get your time to shine one day as do I I want to be an artist like Warhol or an actress like Davis ❤
It is true, however, it seems that you do not take your circumstances on anyone else. This person Bebo decided to take the plane and perform those acrobatics with no experience while putting other people's lives in danger and judging by the conversation with the controllers, all he needed was some validation and his 10 minutes of fame. But for whatever reason this mentally unstable person is being praised as a hero...
My dad was one of the last people to talk to the man in the plane. He’s was a captain for horizon for 20 years. I remember how devastated he was after this
Super sad to hear. Was your dad the pilot that was making great conversation with him and asking him how his plane is feeling etc? If so, I truely believe someone could've talked him out of it, because he was re thinking his decisions at one point, just needed that helping hand.
@@Chellooo__ Well firstly, you're not the guy who I asked this question to. Secondly, there's a full 1 hour long audio version you can go ahead and listen to of the entire ordeal where a pilot asks him "how's your plane, mines feeling pretty good" and made great conversation with Richard. I asked the question above to see if that was the specific pilot who spoke to him, because he was the only one who treated him like a human. He wasn't on a frequencey only with the ATC...
I’m over here prepping some ingredients listening to Sue’s story and at a certain point I had to stop, cross my arms and just lock in on the story. Her story had me HOOKED 🔥🔥
Susan : "Tell me who sent you and I call you an ambulance" Hitman : "... Ok... It... Was... Your husband..." Susan : _keeping the choke hold and whispering in his ear_ "You're an ambulance."
I have this fantastic image of Mike sending the 'hitman' a message saying "Is it done?" and Sue sending him a selfie from the hitmans phone of her with the hitmans lifeless body and saying "YNo, send a better one next time!"
I just watched this even though it is a 3 year old post so apologies for being late to the party. When I heard the audio of Bebo talking to ATC, it was clear to me that nobody could have talked him down. He was so calm and at peace with what he was about to do. Even making jokes. He just wanted to have that last experience that he’d always wanted beforehand. I feel for the people who might carry feelings of guilt that they couldn’t stop him from doing what he did but I hope they know that there is nothing they could have done. And Sue. I’ve heard that story before. But I never tire of it. She’s an absolute legend and a personal hero of mine without me knowing her in any way other than through that story. When I’m in a pickle, I often think to myself What Would Sue Do? And then I put someone in a chokehold and I feel so much better.
As a former ED nurse, I know the challenges of working in an unpredictable job. I salute Susan for her clear thinking, her compassion, then her decision to do what she had to do to protect herself. She definitely is a rockstar in my world.
@Witty Witty You might have had a sliver of credibility hadn't Susan already given her attacker a second chance which he used to attempt to kill her a second time.
Honestly, the second story about Suzan had me relieved. I was anxious the entire time you were telling the story. I thought "Man, she's fighting so hard, if she dies I'm going to be furious!" But nope! My girl killed that dude and I celebrated for her.
I mean imagine ur just sleeping and ur doorbell rings you open the door and you see ur neighbor with blood over her and a bloody hammer telling you she needs to call the police
That last story was crazy, I feel like this happened because he moved somewhere to make his wife happy but really wasn't happy with that move or that job and his depression just won out

I love the story about Susan fighting off her attacker. Mostly because it reminds me of my late mother (who was ALSO named Susan lol) and that is absolutely something she would've done. I actually feel bad for Mike because from what i heard in the story, he didn’t want a divorce probably because he would lose a good percentage of his income, his house everything because the law favours women. Although I would say killing his wife was a bit too far.

@@AlephTroll Ed Haffey wasn't a military guy. But if he had been Susan still would've killed him!
@Joy Jones I just haven't found a article that said that he was a military guy.

Sue charges at man with hammer: "It was at this point he knew, he fucked up."
Edit: Wow, thanks for so many likes, people! It's greatly appreciated. I hope you all are having the very best day ever, and if not, I hope it's just around the corner for ya. Much love!!!

Can't wait to hear this!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣😂🤣😂
omg lol
The last story really hit me, he must've been depressed for a long time to the point that he no longer cared about the consequences of his actions, and in the end he just ended his life :(
“Susan sees attacker”
Also Susan : *THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS*
Our heroes journey is finally complete.
U-U lol
Not to mention the attacker had a weapon... Challenge accepted
Picturing her husband at the beach prompted the necessary kill instinct. The vet did not know that her husband had also left the toilet seat up for the 3 thousandth time just that morning.
Sue: "Call an ambulance, BUT NOT FOR ME."
Her catch phrase..

Poor basturds" - Chesty Puller
Beebo talking made me cry. We can tell he is very sad deep down and is struggling. Self actualization and actualization of dreams are very important. It's where we feel real happiness. Not getting your dreams and feeling like life just drag you down, realizing not going anywhere is very frustrating. He just want to be alive in that moment.
Just getting to the part where Sue bodies TF outta the intruder. Gotta say, this might be one of my favorite stories so far. Get him, Sue! You better be okay at the end of this or ima be so sad!
That nurse is like "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood!".
Its a metaphor, but that really happened.
NOBODY!

Ronda Rousy: I'm pretty tough for a female.
Susan: Hold my divorce papers.
Incredible!😂
This is by far my favorite comment, bless you dude 😂😂😂

How does one kill their entire family including parents, wife, kids, and is still eligible for parole and now free? What exactly do you think he will do now? You think he has anything else to lose?!?!
it's a sick sick world we live in, true dat
I feel the same, I mean, he is a monster. At first i thought...whatever just a crook, just get him un jail like 20 years, public embarrasment and make him pay. But he murdered his family, he should have been executed or at least life in prison...mexican prison that is..

@@sageoz9886 he didn’t actually practice as a doctor…. He just lied to his family that he was one…
It is due to his U.N ties.

The story of Sky King is both tragic, and kinda freeing. He got to live for a moment and do what he wanted without hurting anyone. Fly high Sky king
i thought the exact same thing he touched my heart !!! love to the sky king
Exactly 💕🥺
Rest in peace man
He put other people's lives in danger. What he did was extremely risky and stupid.
@@WretchedHobbit I thought I was the only one that thought dude was an idiot. Like depression or not he literally could’ve killed thousands of other people with that plane then what.
Man the last story really slaps hard, please anyone that is going through something let your friends and families know, you deserve 1000 barrel roles not 1 final one. Fly high sky king
I felt for that guy. His speak was so matter of fact. A controlled calmness. He knew what he was going to do...
@@VMykeV Once People have finally decided they are calm and happy as well.

@@az9498 I don't doubt he did he sound's like a very strong man, sometimes the people you need to help you can't and you're left to face your demons and that no individual should have to go through. However I just hope that those going through that can see a light at the end of all this and they push through it, this amazing sounding man could have had a great career as a pilot if he was given the tools to cope. I hope you're all good anyway, the world is hectic at the minute and it's hard for anyone to see light at the end but there always is. The future is unpredictable and the past is irrelevant. What matters now is you getting through the current times and wanting the future that beholds you. A year ago I was in the predicament that I felt I was only living for my family, the only reason I felt it necessary to live was so those wouldn't suffer after I had taken my life. yet I wasn't getting the point back then, they don't deserve to suffer as a result of my decision and neither do I, if I can see a light in there life, a reason for them to live then I should feel the same about myself and my life. I won't lie I still struggle alot with contemplation, but I always remind myself that all im doing is wasting potential and by doing so I'm only gonna be commiting myself to make a choice that with a clear state of mind I would of never considered.
The “You’re strong” story is something straight out of an anime, the guy was determined to kill her even if it killed him for some reason.
Susan went full Rorschach: "I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with *ME!*
Mike was locked up for his own safety
YOOOO
That last guy brought tears to my eyes. A moment of bliss before inevitable death. How beautiful and sad.
Sue’s story is literally goals, if I ever come across someone that’s trying to kill me! What a woman! Such an inspiration 🤭😅
What a woman! Singular.
Yeah so true you gotta hold your own awesome lady.
For real
My daughter and I were cheering her on as we listened!!!
