I miss how large the Maple world used to be. Now everything is compact and 90% of the time you just teleport to wherever you need to go. There's no adventure with friends anymore, just solo players.
I remember how beast kpq was. Everyone would be spamming the npc to try to beat the next group up to get inside or racing back to the npc before someone steals it.
When I was a 3rd grader back in 2007, my uncle would make me train for him while he would go out with his friends or while he was at work. I remember spending hours on one map, then my uncle would come home and do all the quest bc I obviously didn't know where to go or how to read the map. Then he would make me train on the new map with new job skills. That was my pre big bang experience. An eight year old spamming control and Z while learning the all skill macros on the keyboard. What a nostalgic moment while watching this video. I remember an event where all the maple weapons/gears would drop randomly on any mobs, I would get so excited watching my inventory fill up with new equipment.
People dont want the old MapleStory back. I personally would only want it back IF I would be a kid again. I wouldnt even have the time to properly play anymore... Poeple want their youth back. People wanna be "stupid" again, like in not knowing anything about MS and just going for adventures each day. Time goes on - memories stay (until alzheimers that is)

Insane how this does not only bring back old maple memories, but all kinds of childhood memories as well. On the bright side, the change of Maple does make the memories even better!
Been watching your vids for a couple of months now and your content is a joy, it's really obvious that you love Maple Story and have a strong connection to the game. I'm a returning player from 2010 and these videos make the game more lively, it's lovely to have an active community of old and new players.
Not to forget that you made friends way more easy back then. Maplestory used to be social as f*ck. I really dont feel the same way about it these days :(
lvlaple4Ever They added that in an update didn't they? I remember the first character I made you just spawned into Maple Island and began following the quests, but then later on when I made another character I remember going through that.
well, i play on Reboot and i enjoy every changes in maple. as long as you don't care about damage or range in maple and have buddy you can talk to. thats all i needed.
Miss it so much, the old kerning and hennesy where people use to hang out. The journey from one map to another. I absolutely hated when they changed kerning and hennesy and of course the other maps. I didn't see as many people any more (Like where is the hang out spots now???). Personally I believe that was the downfall of maplestory. Completely forgetting that people journey/interact with each other.

Just returned to maplestory (Europe!) played when only the explorer classes where available. A LOT has changed, and these video's bring back memories. Thanks Coppersan curently training different classes to A) test them out and B) to get link skills

Dang.....Old Maple was just so much better. I just got back into the current maple 3 weeks ago and am loving it but man how different it used to be.... I loved the simplicity back then. Yet everything felt so adventurous

I used to hate the travel from Lith Harbour and Hennessys when I was a beginner because it was SO LONG. Didn’t help that the maps were so big. I also loved L Forest and the Slime Trees, mostly for the music.
This is what MapleLegends is for. Also, if you played the beta, you'd know the game was even more unforgiving. The beginner quests wouldn't give you any potions, they'd give you like no exp so you'd have to grind for hours to get from level 5 to 10. Also, Maple Island in the beta had some HUGE maps.
Remember when you needed to care about your Accuracy ? Or spend an entire night on that damn zakum jumping quest. And if you were playing at midnight you could encounter that huge slime in kerning city to get cakes
Getting to Aqua Road or Omega Sector used to be a fucking chore unless you had those special scrolls that just teleported you down the Orbis and Eos towers
You should do a vid looking at really well hidden streets that were once in the game and ones that are still in the game (if any i dont even know). I really miss that exploration vibe ms used to have with all the hidden streets
Yeah, I'm also an old school player (well, in about 2006-2007 at least, playing on local server), and I does remember those map...I also remember the time I accidentally sent my friend to sleepywood extremely underleveled, and basically made him stuch there because back then, if you die you stuck on sleepywood forever (unless you buy specific city scroll I guess), so something get better in post. Also, I kinda like how it's way more easier to level to 200 now because back then, I play like 10-15 characters, and only one get to level 100 (Shade, if you're asking). Now, being at college, it's really thankful of them that I could level so easily so that I could enjoy thing like Friendstory while still be able to level despite being 20 level over. But well, it's more like "I like their approach for casual because I'm a casual" kind of thing. Now if you excuse me, there's a level 92 Kinesis that need me for leveling up so that I could play Zero before the deadline.

4 weeks ago i had a memory flashback of Henesys H1 after 5 years of not playin the game, so i just made me a basic v83 server running local on my laptop with a Tutorial and even if maple gets shut down one day, i will allways be able to play it again *_*

Honest question, do you still enjoy maplestory or just play it without a goal? I felt extremely empty playing the game without a goal, I tried communicating with people in parties and such but no-one really cared to have a proper conversation. LPQ was massive.. What was it 133 221 333 123 111. Amazing. Then the Full HP Stated Spearman with Hyper Body would try to kill those Block Golems that did like 10k damage XD. Then they made MPQ and it was dawn warriors were the shit and everyone wanted full RomBlox Summons. That was the best years of maple!!!
