One of my earliest memories around 2008 was tauromacis and taurospear parties! Finally getting past cold eyes and seeing tauromacis right before our noob eyes!! Only to die shortly after xD Those were the DAYS..

When I started playing MapleStory like 12 years back then, I got a Maple Lama Staff (the lvl43 maple staff) in maple island. I got no idea what it is and I sold it in the shop for like 43k mesos. Worth it I would say.
Sheesh seeing the assassin at 6:40 in the bath robe and zak helm is the biggest nostalgia for me. I remember seeing some crazy geared lowbies hitting insane numbers. Max enchanted work gloves/sauna robes and a zak helm with crystal ilbis was god tier.

This could hopefully see more new players and not just returning old players. I spent so long as a chief bandit at gobies, really unique training. You had to dark sight and drop mesos on the house, then assaulter it till it died, and meso explosion the gobies at exactly the right time, if you messed up any step the house would either go immune, or the gobies would scatter everywhere. Good times.
No love for my favorite pq: Orbis PQ. That's how I had to get to level 70 after LPQ before the haunted mansion was released. Smuggling clouds because no one actually did the full quest. Fun times
I remember the absolute struggle of trying to find a map on exp event days like jesters would literally have two parties occupying an entire map. We would split a single platform. The worst was when you camped a map all day and some ass came in with their mains to steal the spots it was awful. Ended up being a power struggle of mains taking over a single training spot. 😂
I can't describe to you how much I miss these days. Being so young, playing and chatting with people for hours on end. Meeting new people, building relationships, grinding together and chatting. The music makes me so nostalgic its crazy. I wish I could go back in time and re live it all again
Oh god, this brings back memories. I remember when Sweet Cake Hill was a thing, plus all of the fun with the Ludibrium party quest. I miss the old Maplestory.
people always keep yammering in comment sections about how it became so easy to level in the game and how it feels like a private server now,im pretty sure most of them have forgot how leeching was a thing an year or 2 before big bang happend even back then not a single player liked the grind,so instead of working their way to level 120 or so,they'd just say screw it and pay for someone else to do it for them. looking back at it,even though i did it once or twice (and got scammed for one of those times),i think that this dumb aspect pretty much hurt the game quite alot. it would just create some cheap gigantic gaps between unfunded players or players with no high level bishops as friends, it made it clear as crystal that no one wants to go trough the grinding experience, and overall...it was pretty lame. it might be my salty and envious 12-13 year old self talking here, but i really think that people who get all nostalgic about how hard it was to level up,especially 1-2.5 years before big bang should mention how big leeching was and why everyone done that
Does anyone remember that time when nexon had a bunch of rolebacks during jester time period. There was like a 2x event and nexon made another to stack that. With it you could stack around like 8x.crazy
Teddies and the Ludi tower quests were some of my favorites! Accidentally dying in the tower and being sent to Omega Sector was not though... had to have my level 60 buddy come save me! I miss it dearly.
I always trained in the orbis tower killing leatty's. They also had a high drop rate for some canons that sold for like 35,000 so i got a ton of money early on.
Omg you guys went wayyyyy back xD all of these training spots I literally went through in the pre & post Big Bang. Literally all of these maps were packed. Now their either gone or deserted
I remember back in CBT i had a warrior that i made which i leveled at pigs beach untill lvl 32, solely because i didnt have enough dex back then to hit anything above Green mushrooms. And even Green mushrooms made me miss a ton. Good old days
as someone who played from beta, i was happy just making it out of maple island. getting to level 30 seemed to be an insurmountable task. once i reached lvl 30, i considered people who were level 50+ to be no-life.
For sure, Maple Island itself took a good amount of time back then. There were so many quests to do there. Also played in the same time period, but in official release and not beta.
Back when cash shop launched I was a lvl 6x page training at Taurusaurs , took me another year to get to lvl 70 and I believe we didn't even had 3rd job yet ,do you remember Steelies being like 14m each ?
I remember when truckers exp where a bit too much..i never leveled up there because there was at least 5 people per channel fighting for the respawn. Good times! As many people here said, maple back in the day used to be a social thing. i remember going to school.. then meeting my school friends online and we used to hangout for many hours. Because it's was insanelly hard to lvl up back in the day... we would sit on our chairs and talk for a long time. hahaha Thanks coppersan for every video you make. Maple was really close to me when i was a teen, and it's nice to hear from it even through i dont even play anymore.
i'd always love how u could get lost in that game and suddenly appear in a place so difficult for ur own level and u had to rely on other players passing by to help you out, or the time u take the flying ship to Orbis for the first time and u get killed by a Crimson Balrog but u end up having a good time watching at the pros fighting it (back when the top levels were around 50s-60s) and the lil emoticons were the best, angry ghost floating in a boat full of evil winged monkey pirates, those days wont come back
I'll never forget the level 180-200 grind at Dragon Nest Left Behind. Took so many hours. At one point I was top 30? on the leaderboards in Windia. Good memories. Oh and selling stuff on Basil Market, caring a lot about giving/getting good reviews, making sure you were exactly on time for the trade deal so you wouldn't get bad feedback on your profile, etc. I remember getting 5% an hour at level 60-70 at fire drakes in Perion. The 30-35 grind was tough, but the 65-75 grind was awful because you barely increased in strength but had higher EXP requirements each level. I remember level 199 - 200 was the same EXP requirement as levels 1-199. We got something like 2% per hour at skellies at 199.
I remember when they added Ludi. Big update in training. Chronos were so helpful as a leveling Cleric. The shield drop was life, because you were considered very rich if you had a pan shield before then.
I remember every one of these maps. Damn, the good ol days of MS. I'll never forget it. The social aspect was a lot different back then too. Tons of fun.
as a pre-bb pure polearm drk himes was where i spent most of my time, the priest dk combo is my biggest nostalgia trip. i remember getting like 25% an hour on 4x there at level 10x and thinking it was godly.
I remember when I first played MapleStory, way back in 2008 when I was 10, while my friends and I may not play MapleStory anymore, most of us met on Maplestory and branched out to other games together. so it does have a very special place in my heart.
For MapleStory Vietnam, the inside of the tree was a hidden map that was not on a world map. You randomly got into one of them by using the up arrow on random tree around Ellinia :) It was so much fun. Same with the temple near Henesys, which is now on the world map. Before, I had to go into the giant tree inside Henesys to access to those maps. I remembered training in Lith Harbor to kill Lupins.
Yep to all of it. It really was fantastic. You can still experience all of it on private servers thank god. Though it would be nice if Nexon would release an official old school server.
I remember training at windraiders as a marauder and that awful jumpquest you had to past to get their and back then you had to choose what route you would take as a marauder, either the charge route or the transformation route...I miss old school maple..met a whole lot of people and had tons of fun..this new maplestory is like a single-player game rn
I remember a buddy and I were waaay under leveled for Omega Sector back then and we would jump into the fray and kill a couple mobs and hop up to a safe platform on the right and sit on our chairs and chat until we were full hp again (Potions were too expensive back then). I remember the only reason we were really there was because we went exploring and didn't want to have to climb ludi tower back up for an hour+.
Level 30 is when i decided to look for new adventure, went to orbis and grinded at jr.sentinel in the tower, then went to Ludi to kill rats all the way to 40. I remember getting 0.05-0.03% per kill. Thanks for the video man
Great video! I love these nostalgic trips through Maple. One note, I believe Ludi Maze PQ was actually 51-71, I think. Thanks for making this great content :)
Orbis PQ was amazing EXP, i remeber when people will recurit only people know how to do the Party leader and smuggling glitchs, it was so freaking broken you would get to level 70 so fast that even singapore trucks mistake was joke compare to that. after level 71 when you forced to leave Orbis PQ you will hit huge wall while leveling. Hoodoo/Voodoo it was the best place to train back then before jesters came. reaching level 120 before bigbang was so tough, that you will need to be really dedicated to that. not the mention how expensive it was to buy mastery books for your specfic class skill, ohh man. getting mesos back then was really HARD, you had to be very creative which type of business you are going for, untill this Day i still dont know how i manage to get so much mesos. hack i even had the Hog and sliver Hog which cost 20m and 50m back then. trust me, it was A LOT back then. i feel old buddy, KiDs ThiS dAy WoNt kNOw hOw hArd iT waS bAcK tHeN. XD
Before 3rd job and ludi/aqua were released, the best map was ossy and level 80+ were using 2nd job skills painstakingly training at pixies and big kitties (before el math was opened). When el nath was opened, these 2nd job high level 100+ players moved over to coolies and bains, that was how insane it was. Only the truly old OGs of MapleSEA will remember these days. Before 4th job and leafre were out, when aqua road/ludi/ossy were the best maps, many high level players (140-160++) trained at risell squids and these maps were heavily contested. I recall there were overnight parties working in shifts so that they maintain ownership of map 24/7
Does anyone else remember a mentorship event where you were linked to a high-level friend, and whatever mobs they killed you would get a portion of exp as well? I remember bringing a fresh character to scarecrows and just sitting around while getting easy levels haha
Woah this video made me realize how much I’ve seen this game change. I’ve been to all of those place and I also remember the pq of kerning city. Thanks for sharing.
Ah the slime tree. I remember I was going to train my cleric, it was late at night, and I fell asleep while standing on the outside of the portal to the slime tree due to the music. =D
I remember it took months to get to like 26 or so, went to sleepywood and couldn't hit shit above 1s because I poured way too much into Dex instead of Luk... great times
The haunted house was my childhood!!!! Omg I remember killing clowns and witches from level 50-90 level 90 was super high back then Also singapore omg the nostalgia Love the video
Monster Carnival 1&2 is the greatest PQ ever put into the game and its a shame it no longer exists. I remember getting to level 30 and leveling 30-50 non stop in there, man i miss it. When is Nexon gonna release Maplestory Classic? it would bring back so many people.
Still have memories playing maple around 16 years ago as a cleric, saved quite a lot of mesos and sold them to friends, first bag of money earned as a child lol
Ah, I remember when kaiser came out in europe.. my younger brother bought 4exp cards. He went asleep and when he woke up i was training at the ghosts signapore. 4 hours later i was level 120. Really good stuff..
A lot of these felt like after my time, but the good ones were mentioned. Zombies was a full full map 50 -> 100? Before Lego Land came out, Pre Third job release. Then god, trained at Vikings and Grims for ages when Lego land was out. Followed by Squids and Gobies with Aqua land, then Dreamer Ghosts.
As a cleric I was always training on undead creatures. However when I needed money I farmed in ludi on some baby like monsters that dropped alot of sundae/ice cream that sold for 4k mesos apop and then I would travel to new leaf to buy the MP pots as they restored % and I had easy like 20k mp. I never used healing pots due to heal spell would sort me up. I also had the fairy who would convert damage over to mp. So when I got hit for 2k i only got slapped for like 200hp and rest drained MP. Ah old days maplestory was the good days.
Imagine if they added a passive effect like the burning maps, but for "classics", that adjusted the spawn and exp to match that of the viable maps today, but only in those iconic maps. Would be fun to see life be brought back to those places. I'd also like some kind of time machine to re-visit the removed areas, but i doubt that will ever happen. :/ Rip mp3 & florina beach
HHG, slime tree, pig beach, zombie mushrooms, wild/flame boars, jr cellions, jr yetis, etc and coolie zombies to my first 70. Nearly took a cool half year in middle school.
I only made it to the ghost ship with my priest. But I have to say that it was way more fun to level up than these days where you can do 150 level in a few hours. Love your content bro
man GMS/EMS had all the best training spots, while KMS/MSEA always had the so-called "cancer-levels" which were like late 10's (Beast helm quest), 60's(Jesters/haunted house) and 110's (LHC). It's nowonder GMS had the first lvl 250 (HoH party play and broken luminous system).
As a Page/WK/Paladin before 4th job. Dual ghost pirates from 80-115 lvl and then red wyverns until 4th job came available since Leafre came out before the jobs. And skeles for I don't know how long. Until end of times it felt like :D
I remember playing maple story in its test server days before it even became GMS. I’ve recently started playing maple again and i am addicted.... again
God I have so many good memories with MapleStory :) your videos about old stuff always warm my heart ❤️ Every day you bring me closer to Downloading MS again ^^
I also remember when aliens at NLC came out when Lumi and kaiser just came out. Also the old Jett 3rd job mob skills were amazing at that map. Oh man also the power ranger suit. Lol how long was that already?
Remember hidden pig beach? Good times. As someone who just returned to maple … most of the thing you mentioned is what I did before I quit. I wonder what people do now to train.
Everything in this video is 100% accurate, if you couldn’t get into opq kpq lpq cpq hpq, this is where you would train. Forest of golem was an all time favorite... so many ks wars between guilds and random people
I started around the time Bellocan was released but I think the changes they have made up until now have made the game better and far more enjoyable. It's just too bad I've since grown up and don't have the time to invest in the game anymore.
Bruh I remember grinding at Sakura Cellions in Amoria to get my first 1mil mesos. XD It took me 4 hours on my Aran I swear I got dizzy watching that polearm swing back and forth and back....and forth........good times. New maple is good too but not good on the eyes. And fenrir oh boy I loved that skill just loading combos until I could finally use it was worth the wait.
Thinking about that dice roll... it was a pain in the ass but those where good times when I was able to play with my brothers and hearing each other freak out when we got a 4 in a stat we wouldn't use.
How can you forget wolf spiders! There was an assassin I saw grinding there at level 80 and hit 120 within a week. On the other hand I leeched off of my brother's Bigfoot kills one night during a 2x event. with my bowmaster. Back when EXP multipliers were actually multiplicative I stacked well over 40x exp and got from 100-120 and less than 4 hours.
I have fond memories of buying Bigfoot and HH leech from god tier accounts that could solo those bosses, just hitting it a few times and letting the carry do the rest. And searching for bf as well
Oh yes there yes loved that 🚢 it was training boat all the time and good drops if you had decent armor to protect yourself when you grinding there it gave good pots and experience just keep it up!! Maplestory was great for playing I love it and need to get back on!!
Do you remember when there was a Glitch in Orbis PQ that you can smuggle a piece to autocomplete everything in less than 2 minutes. I got from 51 to 70 in linke 2 days. And belive me in those days it was really hard to level after 50
Nice spots but that's missing wolf spiders, windriders, nightshadows and anego/yakuza leeching. And back when omega sector was released there were couple popular maps. Also doing zakum arms was a thing back then.
I remember grinding on pigs beach and as soon as a iron hog comes, people will change channel cause it was too strong lol. i also remember cowering on the rope and wait if someone will come and kill it
You’re an OG if you remember as a kid, just the thought of getting to second job was exciting.

even back then not a single player liked the grind,so instead of working their way to level 120 or so,they'd just say screw it and pay for someone else to do it for them. looking back at it,even though i did it once or twice (and got scammed for one of those times),i think that this dumb aspect pretty much hurt the game quite alot. it would just create some cheap gigantic gaps between unfunded players or players with no high level bishops as friends, it made it clear as crystal that no one wants to go trough the grinding experience, and overall...it was pretty lame.
it might be my salty and envious 12-13 year old self talking here, but i really think that people who get all nostalgic about how hard it was to level up,especially 1-2.5 years before big bang should mention how big leeching was and why everyone done that
Does anyone remember that time when nexon had a bunch of rolebacks during jester time period. There was like a 2x event and nexon made another to stack that. With it you could stack around like 8x.crazy
Training at LHC was one of my favorite post-BB Maplestory memories
Teddies and the Ludi tower quests were some of my favorites! Accidentally dying in the tower and being sent to Omega Sector was not though... had to have my level 60 buddy come save me! I miss it dearly.
Man, I remember me and my guild buddies would all help secure spots for Twisted Jesters and Ghost Ship during new class releases. Good times!
I always trained in the orbis tower killing leatty's. They also had a high drop rate for some canons that sold for like 35,000 so i got a ton of money early on.
The most fun thing was to train with party with alot of people back then.
Getting Pan Lid from slimes was a huge achievement! The highest level shield for mages after Fence.
I remember when there was a time when one of the best spots to train was inside crimsomwood keep fighting windraiders and stormbreakers
as someone who played from beta, i was happy just making it out of maple island. getting to level 30 seemed to be an insurmountable task. once i reached lvl 30, i considered people who were level 50+ to be no-life.
Yep and I remember when ilbis came out and they were like 100mil ahahaha
And those 5att gloves were super expensive (Stormcaster I think)
I remember when truckers exp where a bit too much..i never leveled up there because there was at least 5 people per channel fighting for the respawn. Good times! As many people here said, maple back in the day used to be a social thing. i remember going to school.. then meeting my school friends online and we used to hangout for many hours.
Because it's was insanelly hard to lvl up back in the day... we would sit on our chairs and talk for a long time. hahaha
Thanks coppersan for every video you make.
Tons of fun.
as a pre-bb pure polearm drk himes was where i spent most of my time, the priest dk combo is my biggest nostalgia trip. i remember getting like 25% an hour on 4x there at level 10x and thinking it was godly.
yea and then you have to abandon the map once tengu spawns or get people to fight it XD
I remember back in the day just chilling and training at Henesys Hunting Ground 1 with friends. Really miss that map
Good times, henehoe for life
THE PANLID! Who remembers this must have shield for mages? (Because in the beginning it was litterally the only shield for that class)
Bamboo hat also was big lol
I recently just got back into MapleStory and this video was so nostalgic
I remember training at windraiders as a marauder and that awful jumpquest you had to past to get their and back then you had to choose what route you would take as a marauder, either the charge route or the transformation route...I miss old school maple..met a whole lot of people and had tons of fun..this new maplestory is like a single-player game rn
as a cleric i was grinding at coolies. I rmb when 3rd job came out. so epic. pre big bang maple was amzing.
Bowman or warrior huh? :(
Mages had it easy climbing the tower :P
@@Nobody-hc1rw Haha he was a Hero and i was a Crossbowman so yeah not fun trying to climb those dumb towers.
Wasn't it like at level 35-40 or something until level 50? I remember having to grind zombies around that level.
XD
Nowadays the exp rates you get at lvl 220 ish start to compare to the exp rates you had when you hit level 70, heh.
You're opening feelings I didn't want to re-open 😭
yeah, i am a veteran, i remember you came to my video... i play since 2005. glories times.
amazing footage you found!
Does anyone else remember a mentorship event where you were linked to a high-level friend, and whatever mobs they killed you would get a portion of exp as well? I remember bringing a fresh character to scarecrows and just sitting around while getting easy levels haha
i remember playing monster carnival and trading wins with the opposite party, but getting betrayed when they just left after they get a win..... :-(
the first nostalgia video you've put up that i could follow everything, haha! 3rd job was as powerful as it gets when i used to play
Coppersan my man, I’ve been watching since you first started posting. I love and miss the good olds days
Omg I remember killing clowns and witches from level 50-90 level 90 was super high back then
Also singapore omg the nostalgia
Love the video
Monster Carnival 1&2 is the greatest PQ ever put into the game and its a shame it no longer exists. I remember getting to level 30 and leveling 30-50 non stop in there, man i miss it.
When is Nexon gonna release Maplestory Classic? it would bring back so many people.
This whole video is nostalgia. I absolutely love it. Although I really enjoy the game now with all the theme dungeons, I sometimes miss these days
Need to see the current updates and all what's new on Maplestory with stuff a things!
5:13 Dragon roar. Feel like a god when you do it. Bishop's Genesis can make players drool
Grinding high levels was a challenge back then but damn, it was worth it after every job advancement.
Rip mp3 & florina beach
Try Maplestory M. El Nath area mines and ludi are end game training maps there.
I’ve recently started playing maple again and i am addicted.... again
God I have so many good memories with MapleStory :) your videos about old stuff always warm my heart ❤️
Every day you bring me closer to Downloading MS again ^^
What made this game was the community. I’m sad it will never be the same, but I’m happy I can say I was apart of it when it was at its peak
I also remember when aliens at NLC came out when Lumi and kaiser just came out. Also the old Jett 3rd job mob skills were amazing at that map. Oh man also the power ranger suit. Lol how long was that already?
I can't watch this right now, damn, well I still watched and man these videos really bring you back man, happiest days of my life hands down
Remember hidden pig beach? Good times. As someone who just returned to maple … most of the thing you mentioned is what I did before I quit. I wonder what people do now to train.
Man this brings back MEMORIES... the hours of grinding at pig beach.
that clip of the wizard in the mushroom cave gave me some freaky nostalgia
Everything in this video is 100% accurate, if you couldn’t get into opq kpq lpq cpq hpq, this is where you would train. Forest of golem was an all time favorite... so many ks wars between guilds and random people
I started around the time Bellocan was released but I think the changes they have made up until now have made the game better and far more enjoyable. It's just too bad I've since grown up and don't have the time to invest in the game anymore.
I remember training in the 2xEXP events with my Ranger for hours in the typhons map, getting a few hours before the event to secure a map lol
Galloperas was great because Evans Flame Wheel and Earthquake skill basically takes up the whole map
Bruh I remember grinding at Sakura Cellions in Amoria to get my first 1mil mesos. XD It took me 4 hours on my Aran I swear I got dizzy watching that polearm swing back and forth and back....and forth........good times. New maple is good too but not good on the eyes. And fenrir oh boy I loved that skill just loading combos until I could finally use it was worth the wait.
omg the cristal drop in the last map was for the christmas event and I remember trying to get 3000 of those to get a really cool chair
Thinking about that dice roll... it was a pain in the ass but those where good times when I was able to play with my brothers and hearing each other freak out when we got a 4 in a stat we wouldn't use.
I remember training at galloperas, I reached level 120 for the first time on my DK there pre BB.
Windraiders at CWK and Typhons. I must've spent 1000 hours at typhons holding down the arrow rain key.
Good old times community-wise. Leveling-wise it was fucking horrendous. Took me 1 year to reach level 70 (3rd job)...
I have fond memories of buying Bigfoot and HH leech from god tier accounts that could solo those bosses, just hitting it a few times and letting the carry do the rest. And searching for bf as well
took forever to level pre big bang I didn't realize exactly how crazy it would turn out later on
What I truly miss the most is when starting a new character that green apple suit. That thing was lit
