it hurts to realize that i played maplestory in 2007 and i haven't had as much fun with a video game since then, 10 years later.
Same here honestly... I play a private server now but it's slightly before the time I started so it doesn't feel the same. I started a few months before Cygnus came out, And I remember playing an Aran when it first came out with the crowds on ch1. Aran became my main, I loved that ice warrior theme.
There was something charming about the old MS. The adventure was real.
Yeah my fondest memories are before 3rd job advancement and before the FM.

Those simple days where I had all the time in the world to play MapleStory... Now I'm in college worrying & stressed about my future, ah how I wish I could be a kid again.
The sauna robe quest took so long, and you needed a Diamond in exchange for the Fresh Milk from that fairy. (?!?!?!)
The satisfaction was so real when you completed it tho
If you had multiple diamonds, you could drop the milk after you got it and complete the quest repeatedly. I gained a bunch of levels that way.

i remembered the old mushroom kingdom. The one with the penguin riding the yeti as the boss. And when you kill the boss, it'll drop 5 boxes. 1 for thief, 1 for warrior, 1 for mage, 1 for pirate, and one for archers. if you chose the wrong one, the one that isnt ur attribute/job, u will get a crappy piece of armour, a piece of armour you couldnt equip.

anyone have memories of hunting turkies on thanksgiving events for the letters that spell out MAPLESTORY, and the M was always ultra rare and you'd be rich if you found one and sold it? in the really old original sleepywood that had a bunch of maps indoors (not in the ant tunnel but between the town and what is now 6 path crossway.
I miss going to hidden street maple story website to figure out what monsters I should be killing at my lvl and what gave the most experienced point. That website was awesome!
It's been years since I played maple, but there were these jump quests in kerning city, in the sewers. They use to drive me crazy. Then there was this one quest that gave you the straw wooden hat. Another quest I remember was the one in New leaf city, where you killed the enemies in the tower and got 60% glove attack scroll which sold for millions back then. And I think the last quest I remember was in sleepy wood, where you had to kill all those zombie mushrooms

Back then. I hated quests that are in the "in progress" tab and quests that are in the "available". I hated watching it and I finished every single one. Didn't matter the reward and I don't care how small and inconvenient it is. I'd finish it.. And the satisfaction was so good. But now it's annoying as hell. You recieve side quests and main quests in every level. And considering the fact that you level so fast nowadays. I remember when each level I get, i finish all quests on that level and still not level up and then rather grinding the remaining xp, I'd waste my time socializing. Old days were the best days. Don't get me wrong. I've played since 2006 to 2015 non-stop. Not even a week break. This game was my life for 9 yrs. But every other things in life, it changed. It's sad really. All the memories I made in pre big bang and early big bang were worth more beautiful than what I made after that. If only new players know how beautiful it was then.

I returned to maple 2 weeks ago after a looong break. I played in 2007-2010. Then logged on a few times but I've been so addicted these past 2 weeks. Hoping to stick with it for a few months. I always try to look for new mmorpgs to fill the void that Maplestory use to fill being its my very first mmorpg. But sadly no mmorpgs or rpg games can replace how damn ass fun and exciting old maplestory was.

your list just misses couple of legendary quests, blackbulls deed to land, arwens glass shoe, old gladius, bone helm quest, guard mike (those jr. neckis at lvl 15 :D noone even hit em)
Dang been playing for so long take a break everyone in a while and come back. Every time I come back the game is like a new experience god I love this game. Recently fell in love with mihile thanks to your guide and man I'm having a blast with the remaster. Love your content

I still have icarus cape 1 and 2.
One quest that was iconic for me was the Zakum quests. The bloody 30 zombie's tooth, the endless jump quest and the cave exploration. Spent two weeks on those quests alone.
I haven't played Maplestory in SO long I do surly miss it and never been bold enough to try the revamped version
i loved doing quests and party quests more. there was so much time in between the next pq so i'd do every quest that was available to me instead of grinding. it took me a long time to level for the time i've played but still all good memories
We had so much fun, and then one day we log out maybe not knowing we will not log in again.
I’m so OG I remember when it took an hour almost approximately of non stop grinding from quests and killing mobs back on maple island
Wonder if this applied across all servers but I remembered back in 08/09 MSEA had a Christmas Quest where you had to collect different colour of books (blue, yellow, green and the rarest of all, red) dropped by mob. Some even purchased red books for 1m (tht was me, for the sake of completingthe quest). I rmbered tht quest helped to lvl up pretty fast! :D
remember the raggedy cape quest? ghost in the hospital in kerning... i felt bad because he was dead there for ever.. he was a ghost that couldnt move on

MapleGlobal was the old maple site as well. Some OG fan probably took that name in memory of the good old maple days

I restarted my character dozens of times for a neat hairstyle
Currently restarted playing on the Reboot server, haven’t played since 2013, and I gotta say that I am enjoying myself. Of course, Maple has changed and leveling is no longer a challenge but now you can level your character all the way up to 250 and focus on getting end game items. One thing I really like about the Reboot server is that it’s not pay to win and all the NX you buy is purely for cosmetics everything else in game is only bought with mesos.
i remember repeating the quest in my all characters from mayor in NLC for 60% ATT Glove Scroll and sell it
i really liked the quest to kill those mini bosses as an adventurer to get the mini zak helm ( the owl, donkey, bear, and horse helms ) i dont think people remember that a few of um or at least the horse one dropped a equips as well. the horse which was the hunter one dropped a lv 10 bow with a VERY low drop chance. think you can obtain it via gachapon as well otherwise. nice bow with good stats and i think strless as well which really wasn't a huge thing unlike lukless mages and dexless rogues. simple quest and fairly fun imo especially when they lock you as well
Idk why but I always did that one quest in Elina that required you to kill those slimes and get like 20 of a rare drop.

Where is that diamond exchange quest in Eillinia? I remember exchanging diamonds and leveling to 70 and spending millions of mesos

I remember when some turned intuned in the beauty and the beast quest I swear they must have been one of the most unlucky players only his hair changed colors while the player who also turned in the quest got the assassin hair
i got the headband from the quest, ugh the sauna robe quest was annoying since i was broke and the damn diamond was annoying to get, lol the hair quest was fun.
i remember running home everyday after school to grind at 3:30 and quest on maplestory while jamming to techno, i had the whole house to myself and my dad would come home from work at 5:00pm and my little brother would come home since he was off doing god knows what with his friends lol.
If I remember there was this jumping quest in sleepywood with spiky balls on top to knock you down and you take 1 dmg

I'm an old mapler I remember all this shit it's a trip. The dude always gets how everyone thought of these quests it's like history
I really missed old maplestory last time is hard to level up after 2nd job but is very good the more do quest sometime you get rare items or weapon

i remember for that amoria hairquest i would literally make characters over and over again and get them to lvl 13 and do the quest and delete the character if i got an ugly hair, i would keep doing this until i got the hair i wanted.
Oh the sauna robe dolls quest, i remember that one time that my brother took like 6 hours to finish that quest, it was pure pain for him but so much fun to me
I really miss a lot of things about old MS. So many fun quests and it felt like it was a lot harder (but in a fun way) to play than it is now.
One quest that I'm sure most maplers remember would be Arwen and the Glass Shoes.
That quest had you hunting fire boars for days on end.

I think everyone called it pumpkin hair back then lmao. I was very young back when i played the old school and my luck with this quest was very atrocious. would always cry when i got pumpkin hair and restart my whole character

i remember a quest in pearl harbor you can do early in the game that gave a 60% scroll that could sell for a LOT! I used to collect all the requirements and ask new player to complet it and I would give them the items and buy the scroll from them for 1/10 of the price! made quick money there ahahahha

I remember running to showa town so u could buy stuff like the bamboo hat and pico pico hammer trying not to get hit cuz the monsters were really strong and could 1 shot
Good thing we can still get sauna robes for nostalgia purposes; the sauna robe questline still exists, but is much easier.

OT: I remember getting the Ragged Cape and the Pig Book and my brother and cousin saying "Where did you get them?" and i told them "An old adventurer gave them, they evolved from hitting a lot of pigs with a book and the cape is a level 200 one with a lot of adventures" hahaha it was great
