I enjoyed this video, although it was really sad to see a Scottish guy say that he doesn't know what the ruins at 11:55 are. They're not "from a while ago", they're ruins of a village which was likely still inhabited in the 18th century but was "emptied" at the time of the Highland Clearances. At the time, it wouldn't have been "in the middle of nowhere" either - the land was full of such villages and at the very least there would be paths made by cattle drovers running alongside the stream. I know that your travel videos focus on pretty landscapes and hiking but it would be a nice touch if you mentioned at least some aspects of the really rich history of this land.
Hi ive been looking for Dan Bell's TH-cam channel and cant find anything, this is one of three videos with him in it i've found. His Facebook vlog account has gone aswell can anyone explain to me what happened does he just not vlog anymore or something.
I'm confused too! I was a big fan, that guy was awesome but every trace of him is seemingly gone from the internet, even his Instagram. Hope he's doing OK
Scotland is my favourite country, can't wait to go back! It is so BEAUTIFUL! I definitely recommend doing a Highland tour with Rabbies, and going in winter, the snow makes it even more magical!
What a beautiful video! I got so excited seeing fellow Scottish youtuber Dan hahah - we're a rare breed! I also get so excited when I see people I watch on here visit Scotland
Aye,you are right. I live in the Highlands and I look right over the Moray firth. I have travelled the world for work but NOWHERE is as beautiful as home.
I’m Scottish and it makes me so happy when people get in touch with locals/do some research to experience what Scotland fully has to offer and not just the tourist attractions. Enjoy!
I did watch this the first time ;) I would never go wild camping but I wouldn't go camping in general ;) And I still enjoyed the video very much both times ;) beautiful filming and editing ;)
Sorry about youtube glitching out for you. I hope your back heals up. There is your cool hat for a cool person. :D Of course, one day I hope to visit Scotland.
Ohh Nadine! What a beautiful place! I went camping with a friend in Oman two years ago and it was the best experience ever! When you set your tent up, I almost cried. Great video!
Hey Nadine We were always on the road, no hotels, just me, Petros and a jeep! We spent 2 nights in the desert (Wahiba sands), during the day we were visiting villages and bathing in Wadis. Another 3 nights on the beach, watching huge turtles coming out of the water to leave their eggs and baby turtles searching for the sea. One night on the mountains (Jebel Shams) and one more by a river (Wadi Darbat). It was totally safe, people were great, it was my first time camping and I loved it!
If you ever go back to Scotland, I would highly recommend that you visit the Isle of Arran. It’s absolutely beautiful there with amazing scenery. You can camp in Glen Rosa which is only 2 miles away from Brodick (the main part of Arran). You can also climb goat fell which is stunning once you reach the top!😌
I loved watching this! I'm gonna show it to my daughter and see if she'd be up for trying to find this location with me and doing a bit of camping. We live on the Isle of Arran in Scotland and have a few weeks of summer holiday left before school starts up again in mid August. I reckon she'll probably be up for it. Hope you enjoyed your time in Scotland. Big cheers to Dan for helping you out and showing you the secret slide!
I’ve never been camping but have a growing obsession with it recently. I guess a reaction to lockdown? So now I’m going to go for the first time as soon as it’s legal and warmer :)
A highly recommend going back and hike the west highland way! I started by doing a short section, fell in love with it and went back to do the whole thing. Absolutely loved it.
The Drones Esmerelda! THE DRONES!! Seriously, I love how you use that thing. The shot at 6:58 and the stuff shot at the waterslide place are amazing. Really shows off the countryside.
Didn't look like you attempted the water slide and I was going to ask why, but someone else did pose the question and you answered :) I hope the back is better soon Nadine. One thing is for damn sure..this video cannot be any better!!! Good grief does Scotland ever run out of stunning scenery?? I am running out of words to describe it!!
im looking to go wild camping this summer in Scotland, however I will be driving from the south of England, im worried where to park my car! can I ask what you did with regards to your vehicle?
Recommend it is! I love Scotland! Lived in Glasgow for five monts and miss it a lot Thanks to you for showing me a part ons of my favourite countries ❤️
Hello!!!! You are amazing!! Can you please share some tips on reaching more audience with vlogs! I’m a travel vlogger myself and it would help a lot! Thank you!!
This looked like so much fun! as a newbie to hikes like this, i’m insanely curious what you packed! what type of hiking gear/shoes/tent/backback/food you have and whatnot. or even what Dan said about keeping your feet dry :)
Beautiful scenery. It would be good to know more about the hike eg starting point, terrain, total distance covered etc but thank you for sharing your trip.
Nice photography and I love the drone views especially it gives such grandeur and majesty to the scenery ...well done to all ... as a final note though ...some protective headgear going down the rocky flumes would I suggest have been a wise addition but each to their own ...
Survival expert. lol. Move upstream slowly keep the shadow behind with the sun in your face or preferably go just after sundown or before sun up to catch a trout by hand. Stoop your hands into the water before reaching the fishes tail.
Love it!! I live in Inverness (think Loch Ness Monster) and we've been looking for some new places to explore! You should have come further North if you've never been - Inverness is amazing! :)
Loch Dochard!! Near bridge of orchy :) although you’d have to park your motor home somewhere else near there, but there are lots of spots around that area!
Wearing long shirts and pants (which we didn't do because it was too hot), a hat, bug spray with deet. But the biggest thing is doing very regular tick-checks of your entire body and having a set of tweezers to remove them before they have a chance to burrow. I ended up finding 3 ticks on my body during this trip, but i spotted them really early so they were easy to remove.
Would you make a video on advise for how to access locals to help your travels. I like to stay at locals home, to experience there culture and meet new people!
That is a really nice drone. It takes Beautiful video! I would love to go back to Scotland and do some wild camping. The laws on wild camping there are so so so forgiving.
That trip looks amazing! I reeeeaalllyyyy want to go to Scotland, but my bf has problems with his ankle and it has to heal properly before we can start hiking again :/ so not this summer unfortunately :(
Yeah, that puzzled me too. I mean a girl who did the canyon swing chickens out of a water slide even when it looks safe. Hope your back gets better soon. For anyone who never saw it go here. th-cam.com/video/FtQYwE3IaYc/w-d-xo.html

Well said my thoughts exactly ... sadly memories can be short and history too easily forgotten ...
But there's pretty people having fun why would you want to bring up all that ?
@@markmcmullan3351 i thought his post was fun, and informative.

Nice photography and I love the drone views especially it gives such grandeur and majesty to the scenery ...well done to all ... as a final note though ...some protective headgear going down the rocky flumes would I suggest have been a wise addition but each to their own ...
Does your backpack go as checked luggage or carry on ?
Checked luggage
Survival expert. lol. Move upstream slowly keep the shadow behind with the sun in your face or preferably go just after sundown or before sun up to catch a trout by hand. Stoop your hands into the water before reaching the fishes tail.

Loch Dochard!! Near bridge of orchy :) although you’d have to park your motor home somewhere else near there, but there are lots of spots around that area!
Cant believe you were here! I walk through george square every day!! Beautiful vlog xx
this is making me miss camping so much 😭 gotta start camping more regularly at home again so that I can do international camps 🤩
yes!! camping is alot of fun, just make sure you are prepared :P p.s. come back on Thursday and there will be a special video all about that.
Nadine, how do you protect yourself from ticks?
tick checks, all the time. Or cover up in longer sleeves.
That looks so fun and scary at the same time!!
Just one question... how do you get the money to do these things?! I aspire to travel like this but don’t know how to afford it.
Love this video 😍
Thank you!!
Hey Nadine your welcome 😍
That camping spot! 😍
And that waterslide is so cool!!
Would you make a video on advise for how to access locals to help your travels. I like to stay at locals home, to experience there culture and meet new people!

Thank you for the video

Nadine, You really didn't try the water slide??!! :D How come :P
I hurt my back a few weeks ago and was a bit worried :/ next time!

where is this place exactly? what is it called?
Loch Dochard

I wonder what the mosquito situation is like over there!
only at night! but that's true anywhere, and we where early in the season for the bugs
Not too many mosquitos actually. They have loads of midges instead... not really sure which is worse!
