    I love my visit in Korea. We got lost in a subway station and a dude offered to help us understand each train station. He even guided us on our way out of the station because the exits are quite tricky.

    I just came home from Seoul actually. The most interesting tour I’ve done in a while was a day trip to DMZ the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea. I learned a lot from a very talented guide in VIP Travel, and got pretty close to North Korea, which was unique. I recommend such a trip to everybody who visit Seoul. I also stayed in Myeongdong, which was really cool. It’s easy to get around both by walking and metro and the streets are full of life and awesome street food from 2pm every day.

    I went to Korea about 3 years ago, I realy want to go back as it was such an amazing country. Some of the things we went to see where Soul tower, mjong dong, the castle and lotte land, the thing that left it's impression the most was visiting the border between North and South Korea. Quite the surreal exsperince but one I can highly recommend. Another thing that I was glad I did was learn how to say hello and thank you in Korean, since this allowed me to communicate with the per people too, even thou the rest of my questions where in English, the fact that you try to approach them in their language is highly appreciated.

    My uncle went on a government sponsored hike in the early 1950's all the way up to the Chosin Reservoir (North Korea) and back. He said that it was a beautiful country, except for the parts that were blown up, and he was very happy that the Korean people had recovered their nation so well.
    My brother went on a vacation in Korea years ago, and he really enjoyed it.

    loved korea but OMG was language such a huge barrier. Soeul was doable but outside it felt like people had never even heard english. got by but only becuase the people were so kind and understanding but i did feel a bit bad for not knowing more. go to the War Museum, it is amazing and world class.

    Love this! This is just what I needed to watch! I'm going to South Korea for the first time ever in Spring 2024 and this video is very informative so I know what I need to do to prepare and what to do for fun and to eat and get around once I'm there! Already got. passport which wasn't mentioned. Technically I signed up for it. I get it in about 7-10 weeks from now. That's all I have done to prepare for it so far. My next step is to get a travel agent. This video is good incase she doesn't know everything I need to do
    One thing I wish was discussed though was housing. Where you would stay at and how you book it especially if you're from the US and wanting to book it before going

    You forgot one super important safety tip for Korea... Korean traffic is occasionally completely terrifying and you should always be on your guard when there are cars, buses and especially delivery scooters around. People drive fast, aggressively, drunk and tired and there's not really the same stigma against doing so as it is in the west. So beware about that... Everything else though I completely agree about.

    • @samuelandaudrey
      @samuelandaudrey 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is a good point to be more aware as a pedestrian. I especially find that true in older neighborhoods with serpentine narrow roads that lack designated sidewalks.

    When I travel I really enjoy visiting the smaller cities and towns with less tourist culture, places that are more grounded in local culture. Would you say those kind of towns are easy to travel to in Korea? Also great video! I liked the breakdown format.

    I love what you do! It's so fantastic to learn things.
    I was wondering, though...would it be difficult to spell-check the names of places (and other important information) in the caption? For instance, starting at 6:30 after Sam talks about Seoul, (maybe a little earlier for names of food) and at 8:10 Audrey talks about "sword X on", which is probably not the name...not even close. ;)

    • @nishat3392
      @nishat3392 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Busan, daejeon, jeju-do, suwon (places, spelt correctly in caption)
      7:15 - Insadong, Namdaemun (street market, spelt correctly i think)
      7:25 - hanbok (traditional dress)
      7:57 - noraebang (karaoke room)
      8:10 - seoraksan (national park)
      I think the food is this:
      Sundubu-jjigae - spicy tofu dish with fermented cabbage
      Dolsot-bibimbap - rice with mixed veg and gochujang sauce
      Hotteok donuts
      Tteokbokki - rice cakes

      OK. Most subscribers are not aware of Nadine's early videos before she became a world traveller, and only had a few thousand subscribers. I have been subscribed for over 11 years, and have an archive of my favourite videos from my favourite TH-camrs, including Nadine, and my second channel has a selection of removed videos, and videos from cancelled accounts. TH-cam allows me to upload some videos which may have been removed for copyright reasons, because my account is not monetised, but not always. I got a copyright strike for uploading 2 Poppy videos.
