    The old pro 1000 had a rubber portion to the handle and was not slippery and generally had a more premium feel and was also a bit thinner. The all plastic handle on the new Pro 1000 looks cheap in comparison and can slip. Why do companies make things worse instead of better?? And of course the Io3 brushes cost is too much.

    iO series 3 has 3 cleaning modes but no indicator which mode it's on: Daily Clean, Sensitive, Whitening.
    iO series 5 has 5 cleaning modes: Daily Clean, Intense Clean, Sensitive, Super-Sensitive, Whitening.

    Thanks for the comparison! A bit off topic, but between the IO 5 or 6 and the Suri, which one would you recommend for someone who's very thorough when it comes to dental care? I tend to lean towards the oscillating brush heads because of the rotation and pulsations/micro vibrations but thought I'd ask you due to your experience

      @ElectricTeeth  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To be honest there is no 'right' answer here. I lean slightly more to oscillating, but there it's not a black and white choice really. I'd definitely pick the iO6 over the 5. This is more from a usability point of view. The 6 doesn't clean better than the 5.
      I am a fan of the SURI product, but if you want that deep clean feeling you can't beat the iO6.

      @@ElectricTeeth thank you very much for the advice! Just to clarify, whilst there is a 'cleaner' feeling with the IO in terms of actual cleaning capabilities the Suri and IO are nearly on par? I just read about the differing noise level of both brushes, which I think is also worthy of consideration. Thank you again for the help!

      Our testing would suggest they are comparable. But do bear in mind we are doing simple at home tests, not a controlled test with strict scientific criteria. No clinical study has compared these 2 directly too each other.
      Clinical studies/reviews have compared sonic brushes (SURI) to oscillating (Oral-B) and there is evidence to favour oscillating. But, even the studies and reviews do cite that more testing is needed.

      @@ElectricTeeth you are right of course, but since I tend to also brush longer than 2 minutes I can probably compensate a minor difference that way, but for now I think I'll see wherever there is a sale going on and which toothbrush may be more affordable in purchase and overall. Thank you very much for the advice again!

      @@ElectricTeeth now went for the Suri and I'm very happy with it. You are right that there is a bit less of a 'deep clean' feeling compared to the Oral B, but overall I'm very happy. Thank you again for taking the time to offer some advice!

    Hi, I suffer from receding gums and I brush my teeth 3 times a day with a toothbrush that controls the pressure for 4 minutes and 2 times a day until the toothbrush tells me it has completed 100% of all surfaces, morning and evening I also use an Oral b Interspace brush head.
    I use brushes of different sizes 2 times a day and the Regeneratesempde Mouthwash! lately I have also added the single tuft manual toothbrush once a day! The only thing I really can't use is dental floss, I've tried various solutions but I just can't stomach it, just 1/2 times a week!!
    Now I don't want all this to burden my situation, I understand that every patient has their own personal story but in general what do you recommend? The icing on the cake is that I also have a heart disease and have undergone a valve transplant! Thank you for any advice you may give me!

      It sounds like you are doing a good job overall. Flossing of some form would make things better.
      Have you looked at using interdental brushes rather than floss? They are a good alternative and generally considered more effective than floss.
      If you really can't stomach these either then a water flosser is the next best option. It's not the gold standard, but better than nothing at all.

      Four minutes is far too long to be brushing. You are contributing to the advancement of your receeding gums by doing this. There is a very good reason that toothpaste and literally every single electric toothbrush ever made instructs you to brush for 2 MINUTES.
