    To keep bolts in right order, I've taped some small Dixie cups to a piece of cardboard. Don't forget the kick start bolt. After taping the cups number each cup. Then as you remove bolt place it in the cup with it's corresponding numbered cup...FYI the number 6 bolt I didn't replace to close to lubricant fill nut on my Icebear Trifecta. Don't for get the piece the holds down brake line place into the same cup as bolt, same for the funny looking piece at number 8 bolt.

      Great tip! It's a smart way to keep your bolts organized during disassembly. Numbering the cups and placing the corresponding bolts in them will help you remember where each bolt belongs when it's time to reassemble everything. Thanks for sharing this handy advice for maintaining your Icebear Trifecta.

    Maybe you'll be able to assist with advice, I took my 150cc gy6 scooter in to replace the belt because I noticed cracks on it after driving about 9000-10000kms ,they replaced it ,but now thw belt lasts only 100-150kms then it starts tearing up and snaps ,this is now the 4th time I have to take it for a new belt

    • @VirberelloScooterTips
      @VirberelloScooterTips  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you've had to replace the belt on your 150cc GY6 scooter multiple times within a short distance, there could be several factors contributing to the problem:
      Quality of Replacement Belt: Ensure that you are using a high-quality replacement belt. Sometimes, cheaper belts may not last as long as higher-quality ones. Consider using an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) belt for your scooter.
      Proper Installation: It's essential that the belt is correctly installed. If it's not installed properly or is too tight or too loose, it can wear out quickly. Make sure that the tension is within the manufacturer's specifications.
      Alignment Issues: Check if the belt and pulleys are aligned correctly. Misalignment can cause uneven wear and early belt failure. If the pulleys are not aligned, you might need to adjust them.
      Worn Pulleys: Inspect the condition of the variator and driven pulleys. If they are worn, it can cause the belt to wear out prematurely. Consider replacing them if necessary.
      Clutch Engagement: The clutch system should engage smoothly without causing sudden jerks or high RPMs. If it engages too harshly, it can stress the belt.
      Riding Style: Your riding style can also affect belt life. Avoid abrupt acceleration and hard braking, as these actions can strain the belt.
      Weight and Load: If you often carry heavy loads or have a passenger, this can put extra stress on the belt.
      Tire Size and Condition: Check the condition of your scooter's tires. Worn or improperly sized tires can impact the performance and life of the belt.
      Maintenance: Regularly maintain and lubricate the scooter's moving parts. Neglecting maintenance can lead to premature wear and tear.
      Scooter Age and Mileage: If your scooter has significant mileage, it might be time for a more thorough inspection, including the clutch and pulley components.
      Given that you've already replaced the belt multiple times, it might be a good idea to have a professional scooter mechanic inspect your scooter to identify any underlying issues. They can check for misalignments, clutch issues, pulley problems, and other potential causes of the recurring belt failures. Addressing the root cause of the problem should lead to a longer-lasting belt and a smoother riding experience

      I think one has to watch these dealers and the prices they charge for 1rst time service charges. I took my new Yamaha BWS 50 in for service and the service guy tried to charge me what they charge a full sized motorcycle service rates. I thought that was nuts and asked the service manager if that was correct. He said let me see your bill and went out front and told the service rep that scooters are not the same price as a motorcycle for servicing.

    On my Trifecta the front of belt housing there is a foam filter, is that filter necessary?

    • @VirberelloScooterTips
      @VirberelloScooterTips  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While it's not a guarantee, if the filter is indeed there, it likely implies that the person who designed your scooter had a valid reason for incorporating it like dust or small rocks going inside the cvt.

    My belt doesn’t have the teeth it’s just a regular smooth V groove Goodyear B26/ 5L290 Belt.
    I ordered same thing as replacement. Would the type in your video be better? Thanks for any help.

    • @VirberelloScooterTips
      @VirberelloScooterTips  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi
      Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience. The Goodyear B26/5L290 belt you ordered is a regular V-belt without teeth, and it's a common choice for many applications.
      In the video, I featured a belt with teeth, often known as a notched or cogged belt. These belts provide enhanced grip and reduced slippage, which can be beneficial in certain scenarios. However, the choice between a toothed and non-toothed belt often depends on the specific requirements of your scooter and the manufacturer's recommendations.
      If the Goodyear B26/5L290 belt has worked well for your scooter in the past, there's a good chance that the same type will continue to be a suitable replacement. It's always a good practice to follow the manufacturer's specifications and recommendations for your scooter model.
      If you have any concerns or if there are specific reasons you're considering the toothed belt featured in the video, feel free to share more details, and I'll do my best to assist you further.
      Ride safely!

    Hey, I just replaced my belt and on the top, on the far edge, it has a line of material worn off after a day... Why is this? Also it not wants to move when idling at 2k... The old belt didn't have any noticable wear like my new one. The writing is still all visible whereas mine has a couple mm worn down

    you don't have to take the kick starter off, it's attached to the cover, just squeeze the clutch out to losen the belt and replace the belt, put the cover back on with the dowels in place, the gasket is useless but try to keep it nice if it's still there

    Hay hi I'm a big fan and subscriber ov yours. Question. I wanted to shange my rollers in my vario. But, firstley I noticed that the shaft was worn a little, and the big shaft bolt was tight and fraying the shaft lightly. Why is that.? Plus after taking everything out there behind the vario was a play with 4 marked screws in it. Which rattles lightly. What is the plate for. And Wats it called. If I need to order a new one. But to be honest I'm worried that the shaft its self is damaged. Or can I just get a bigger sized tube thing for the variator.? Sorry for me going on, but I'm lost, and need help. Thanks

      Hello Matthew no worry if the shaft is a little warn is normal the transmission shaft are very durable the 4 marked screws on my scooter are on the rear gear box and you can not get a bigger tube for the variator because that will have to much play the best is you can order a new variator kit with new roller. hi my friend this sound a little strange I will start checking the 2 rear screws that you have behind your starter and see if they are tight and the starter is not moving second I will check if the connection above your starter ( red wire ) is tight and is not broken if you are good there the next thing is the solenoid switch that is under you scooter seat on the right side of the scooter 2 cables are there one comes from the battery and one goes to the starter make sure both wires at the solenoid are tight good with the bolt now make sure do not touch the cable at the solenoid together yet, to see if you have a bad solenoid place a screw driver between the 2 bolts on the top of the solenoid to make a contact DO NOT TOUCH CONTACT WITH YOUR HAND AND DO NOT TOUCH METAL OF THE SCREW DRIVER please if your scooter start with a great fast reaction time that is the solenoid going bad if this is not helping the last thing that you have to check is to remove the starter and take that a part and with a dry cloth you have to dry the inside of the starter because sometime you have few drops of oil going inside your starter from the motor and when the inside o ring goes bad little oil goes inside the starter anyway you will need a new starter because they do not sale only a small o ring for that but you can buy a new gy6 starter for around 25 to 45 dollars on line I hope this help you feel free to contact me any time I hope you can fix your starter problem

      Wow that is very possible I'm not surprised Gy6 scooters they are ok but not the best on quality what you can do is to check where the frame of the front attached and see if something is bend and if can be made not pointing to the right second is to remove the front of the scooter right under the cluster speed gauges you need to locate the steering bolt and unscrew that and mach the direction of the nose of you scooter with the direction of your front wheel after that screw in again the bolt with a little loctite Threadlocker to be safe so in the end is a lot of work :-)

      That is a little strange make sure you do not have any oil leak on the rear gear box of the crankcase that could be the reason why your belt is glazing up you only 1 drop of gear oil to damage a belt.
      Do a visual inspection when you open the crankcase cover and Bando belt are great product :-)

    You realize that you don't have to remove the variator to take the belt off. Just squeeze the clutch plates together to loosen the belt, pinch the belt and hold it , and then just slide the belt off the variator front fan plate.

      @@VirberelloScooterTips It really does work. Of course ,if you need to replace the rollers or guides ,you'll need to take the variator apart but, lets say you have a spare belt in your storage under the seat and the belt snaps while your riding, you can change the belt without needing an impact wrench and be on your way.

    I have to start making videos because everyone I've watched is just horrible. You're informative but you're doing a lot of things wrong.
