    Had the pleasure of renting one on a trip into Swedish Lapland, north of the arctic circle. Best car I’ve ever driven, coped with arctic snow and ice with aplomb. When it started without issue after being parked overnight in -30 Celsius, that was the moment I decided that this would be my next car. Cannot recommend highly enough!

    Actually using the touchscreen for the car climate has been the best experience I've had in any car. The buttons are huge, you choose the temperature in the way that is more convenient to you (arrows, sliders, direct touch on scale...) and overall it is very intuitive.
    And you still have the real buttons to quickly clean a fogged up window.
    (a very happy v60 owner here :D )

      do you still have it? did you have any major problems with it?

      @@Monter6 Yes I still have it and hope to keep it for very long time. It's a pleasure to drive it daily. I get at my destinations and i'm never in a hurry to get out of the car since its so confy in it.
      Issues... AC discharged in only 3years.
      And oficial assistance prices...800€ for oil change and brake pads... feeled like I'm being robbed. Doesn't make sense. I can pick the exact same oil, same brand, same specs significantly cheaper, as well as all the parts and also any small thing that I would ask the mechanics to check was a nightmare for them. They do not deserve the premium hourly price one pays to them thats for sure. (so not being using Volvo official officine too for the last couple years. My wallet thanks me a lot with that change)

    While I hardly ever bother with voice commands in my XC-90, a quick way to adjust the temperature with the Volvo infotainment system is just to press the button and say, "set the temperature to X," or even, "I'm too hot," and it will adjust the temperature down in two degree increments. Pretty neat feature.

      The V60/S60 are compact luxury vehicles and would be more comparable to a Mercedes C class, BMW 3 series or Audi A4.
      The mercedes E class would compare better against the Volvo V90.

    I've owned 2 Volvo's and they've both been exceptional.nowadays I find myself torn between this Volvo, Mazda 6 estate GT nav + or VW Passat R line.anyone driven all 3 of these?if so what's your thoughts? I've heard so many good things about the Mazda 6.

    • @shrikhiran3956
      @shrikhiran3956 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get you man. But about the Mazda, you want to go for an Asian car and do you think it lives up to the amount you’re investing for it? However be it, Volvo still is an exclusive company with minimalist and familiar friendly design. The price is worth the beat, it’s very affordable as compared to its competitors like Merc and BMW in the same segment. It’s a bang for the buck. It’s reliable too and it doesn’t break your wallet either. The design is executive too. Personally I’d suggest you to Volvo, it’s the best I’ve ever driven. Volkswagen isn’t that premium honestly, Volvo is like hands down the best. Mazda’s are too tech based but they’re not very luxurious. The drivetrain is amazingggg in Volvo. Comfort at its best.

    Ignore those prices. Nobody needs to pay MSRP on a Volvo. Volvo seems to have one of the most fluid pricing structures of all brands in Australia. Once you have gotten a good deal find yourself a good independent mechanic because Volvo servicing is ridiculously expensive.

    The auto transmission is junk, I'm shocked that you think "they got it right" its so wrong! I've owned a V60 for the last 4 months - that is my biggest issue with it. Put a 6spd in it and I'd love it - I almost didn't buy it because of the auto box.

    First-time viewer - good review.
    Couple of thoughts: Most importantly, ditch the music. Adds nothing, sounds dated and cheesy, and quickly becomes irritating.
    Maybe convert KW to BHP (just a note on the screen) if you want to gain an international audience (I've no idea what a KW is worth).

    Trouble with Volvo is, there will soon be no mechanical repair support for any of these traditional engined cars, as Volvo has massive plans to go all electric soon
    Just a thought

    • @poptartknight565
      @poptartknight565 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leigh Taylor I see what you’re saying however technicians will still be certified to work on them. Ever see a discontinued car at a dealership? They still work on them.

    • @Nicholas.T
      @Nicholas.T 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You’re drawing a very long bow Leigh and that’s a very misleading and irresponsible statement ! Volvo has actually stated that they plan to have some sort of electric propulsion in their cars, in all future models over the next 5-10 years - meaning they will either be mild hybrid, full hybrid or full battery electric. It will be a long, long time before EVERY Volvo is FULL electric - minimum 10 years at least. They will transition to BEV’s at pretty much the same rate as every other major manufacturer is planning to. It’s very disingenuous of you to scare current or prospective buyers of Volvo petrol/diesel vehicles like that !! Volvo owners will have continued service support for their ICE vehicles for a long time into the future - if only for the fact that there are so many still on the road, and Volvo would be crazy not to let their dealership service departments continue to be profitable and provide maintenance support !!
