Is the 2020 Volvo V60 proof a wagon is BETTER than an SUV?

  • There was once upon a time where wagons were top sellers in the USA. Volvo wants to showcase the usability and capability of the mighty wagon with the V60 T5 Momentum. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that os producing 250HP & is mated to n 8-speed automatic transmission. The exterior of the V60 is very modern yet showcases the beautiful wagon lines with optional wheels. On the inside you will be greeted to a well laid out and unique interior with some great tech. Is the 2020 Volvo V60 prove a wagon is BETTER than an SUV?

Probably won't stop people from buying the new Bronco by the metric ton.
Anyway, the point of most crossover SUVs is not to go off-roading. It's to make its drivers owners feel like they're gods on the open road, and to have plenty of storage space while they're at it.

COACH JOE ~ auto trends may come and go, but you can't kill the wagon - it will always cycle back round & be cool again & it's because they are practical, typically use less fuel than a SUV or Crossover, & they usually handle a lot better. some of the sportiest cars made have actually been wagons, butt you already knew that - it's why they call ya Coach. I dig Volvo, a matter of fact I dig this one you reviewed so awesomely. solid, style, practical, decent power for it's category, fit & finish = excellent. it's cold in Sweden, no vent seats > makes sense. love the interior - I'm a fan of brushed aluminum over gloss black plastic crap. the key fob is LUX - so clean & stylish. love the seats - leather with cloth for comfort & it hides lint haha. a soccer mom could cram 10 kids in the back of this baby. speaking of Polestar - yeah I think it's going to be like Genesis is for Hyundai - elite, lux, fast. my Mini Cooper S twin turbo has three drive modes > eco, weather, & BAT SH*T CRAZY lol. I usually drive it in eco haha. love this wagon, love this channel, love this Joe guy who ever he is. this is the place to be for auto reality - tony

I thought Volvo left the US market. LOL I can't remember the last time I saw a Volvo on the road. I remember my mother driving a Volvo 760 or 780 back in the days.. maybe it was an 850R. Starting $40k..great!

In this world of lumpy gaudy cookie cutter SUVs and crossovers, this car is a work of art. I may be biased, I still have my 1993 Volvo Turbo 940 wagon and it still drives like new. My friend’s limo company uses Volvos for their fleet vehicles, and he reports they are so far the best cars they’ve had in the last 25 years.
I’m currently looking for my next work car for my photography business and I have no problem strongly considering one of these! 😃

I might get a 2021 T6 R design. Deciding what to do. Volvo drives great, it’s not fastest thing on road but quick, polestar software heard helps in mid range. T8 is cool but it’s heavier. The user interface takes some getting used too. Lack of buttons has annoyed some reviewers.

The last good Wagons Volvo made were in 2015. Had Ford inline 6 engines until Geely wanted to put their stamp on their Volvo acquisition by having small 4 cylinder engines with turbo and supercharging. Yes the mpg improved, but at the cost of engine longevity.

More manufacturers should make wagons. They will sell in the US like Europe they just need to be like the ones in Europe and not watered down. Performance and style is the key to sell them.

Other than the 4 cylinder only options, I love driving the new Volvo's. I've driven the XC90, XC60, and S90 and by far my favorite thing is the Harman and Bowers audio options. They are easily at the top of their game. Not to mention they look good.

Only thing i do not like and would change is the giant screen that controls everything, would prefer button AC controls so driver and passenger can mess with both at the same time. I also prefer analogue gauge clusters but that digital one still looked nice, would rather change the giant screen before the gauge cluster. Definitely going to buy one of these soon, thing is too beautiful and practical for a US spec wagon. Wish they had a diesel though. Great vid, thanks.

First of all I must say I love your site best from the others. Would like to ask you for your honest opinion concerning this V60 wagon, I drive a Benz GLE AMG43 it’s a 2017 model I really love it but I moved back to Town and sometimes I feel that I don’t need it all streets and side roads are plowed during winter Canadian 🇨🇦 also I’m retired and don’t drive as much I know the V60 and the Benz are totally different but I like value of the Volvo, I have been driving Mercedes most of my life and they are getting way out almost everything is an added option and more $$$ ...thank you and hope for your unbiased opinion and Congratulations love your site, Eric

I compared with XC60 which I ended up choosing. There just wasn’t any benefit to downsizing to the V60. The XC60 more comfortable and has better seat height and more space without comprising speed or performance . This may be a good option for people living in cities.
