Your hair is beautiful. I’ve had my sisterlocks for 2 years. My loctician says I should not put any oil or moisturizer in my hair. I am Going to try your routine. Also- please give advice on how you colored your hair!
Has your hair locked yet? You can try just water in the spray bottle too. I’m going to make a video of my next colour! My biggest advice though is to have a professional do it and don’t do it too often (more than 2x a year).
Your locks are beautiful love the color. I have a few questions for you😊 1-what kind of shampoo do you use? 2- when and how often do you use the coconut moisturizing method? 3) where can I purchase the rose water?😊 Thank you
Sorry for the delay sis! I use Herbal Essence (nothing fancy lol). I moisturize with coconut oil once a week. You can find the rose water and all my other hair favourites in my Amazon store: www.amazon.com/shop/msjacksontravels
Rose water is flavoured water made by steeping rose petals in water. It has many benefits like hydrating the scalp and repairing damaged hair. Thank you!
Thank you sis! I wanted to start my locs at 19, my parents were against it and for some reason I listened 😂 I ended up starting them almost a decade later. Whenever you start, is the right time for you ❤️
@MsJacksonTravels I never even heard of sisterlocs or microlocs were until maybe 2-3 years ago. Where I grew up we would just see traditional locs, and they werent maintained well. But tiny locs are so beautiful just wish i would have known about them at least a decade ago. I'm about 14-months in micorloced and loving ❤️ it! 😊
Thank you for this, im 2 months in but my hair is very dry🥲. Ive been told not use an products and wash every six weeks. Any tips to help with the dryness ❤?
I'm uploading a video right now on my colour! It's a mix of colours over the years, so I can't say what it is specifically. In the video, I show you what products I use and how I mix the colours. It'll be published in the morning!
Since you’re in the early stages you should be super careful with oils. It’s less about them taking longer to loc and more about them unravelling. I would use mostly water with a very small amount of the oils in the bottle and just lightly mist. Also double check with your loctician in case there are any particular characteristics of your hair that you need to account for
Hi there! When you say you wash your hair with a coconut base, are you putting the coconut oil base on and then shampooing your hair, or do you shampoo and cleanse your hair first and then oil your scalp and locs afterwards?
@@MsJacksonTravels awesome! Thanks so much! With so many locs, do you have any drying tips too to avoid dampness and mildew smell if they’re not all the way dry?
I don’t do anything too special for drying. I air dry my hair 90% of the time. After washing, I give it a good towel dry and then just leave it down so air flows through. I don’t do buns or ponytails the next day so it has more time to really dry. When I’m in a rush, I do a half blow dry. I hate heat on my locs 😝
I'm sorry did you say you wash your hair 3x a week? If tons of product isnt in it what are you washing away 3 times? Im curious. I am 5 months into my locs.
Yep. I wash my hair 1-3x week. I think I specified that when I’m travelling or working out hard then I wash more often. So to answer your question, I’m washing sea water, pool water, airport grime and sweat away from my scalp and hair.
My hair does get a bit frizzy at times. What hair stage are you in? When my hair was in the baby/teen phase I had a lot more frizz. Also hair texture makes a big difference - if you have curly hair vs tightly coiled hair (me), you’ll probably have more frizz until you’re in the more mature stages. Last thing, the satin bonnet at night makes a difference!

Our Sisterlocks look almost identical. Color, layers and length 😊
I take it that the rose water you use is an oil? Love your locks, especially your crown area. No thinness. Beautiful
