I loved your journey to your 10 years of being locked. I have been micro locked for 2 years now, and have enjoyed each stage. When I was first locked and had to braid and band my 4 inches, I had to run to the grocery store quickly, and as I was searching for chicken, a woman walked up to me and asked me what had I done to my hair? Proudly I said to her, These are mocro locs. She asked in an obnoxious way, "why would you do that to your hair?" 😢 At first I was hurt, but then I thought about it for a moment and said, "Well because I love my natural hair, and am tired of trying to be someone I'm not. What really hurt the most is that she was a black woman as well, with relaxed hair... for the most part , I'm always receiving compliments on my locks. I truly love and embrace each and every phase that I have gone through in my two year loc journey. Thanks for your sharing video, it was truly inspiring. Blessings 🙏🏾🤗

Same here a black woman was saying that my hair would fall out because I'm locking it. I started with two strand twist microlocs and I was the only person at my job that started locs while there. Now almost 22-months in the game sis always wants to see my micros and touch them because they have grown so much...😅 Some of these women are too funny. I bet if you see that woman ever again she will be like 😮 is that all your hair?

Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Your locs are flawless. May I just add that you are very young and not an elder. :) Such beautiful melanin skin. Curious what you're using for natural grey dyes or dyes in general. :) Thank you.
haha, thank you!! I'm only 38, so certainly not an elder yet, but hair is considered to be in the elder stage. I don't have greys, I use Dark and Lovely. Here's my colour process: th-cam.com/video/t8gL-BA7EMQ/w-d-xo.html. Thank you for watching and for your kind words 🧡
I am going into my 3rd year with sisterlocks , my hair is fine 4c and mixed with gray. I love your hair color what is it? My hair jumps out of the locks. Was there a phase when your hair did that and when did it slow down? You also mention you gradually cut your hair did you do that yourself or your locktician, I have a problem when I ask for my hair to be trimmed for me it does not mean 2-3 inches. What does gradually trimming mean for you?
I use dark and lovely to colour my hair. It's a combination of colours. I show the process here: th-cam.com/video/t8gL-BA7EMQ/w-d-xo.html. When you say it jumps out of the locs, do you mean that it's slipping out? That shouldn't be happening in year 3 🤔 Typically you can have slippage in the first year but once the locs start to form that ends. It will be different for everyone, for me that stopped after about the 8 month mark. When it comes to trimming, I'm VERY specific with my loctitian (I never cut myself). I just tell her how much I want off. When I had relaxed ends in the beginning, I was cutting half an inch each retight just to get rid of them, until one day I just told her to take all the relaxed ends off since I was sick of the slow cutting lol.
I love your locs. I keep watching the videos of all l fully grown and mature SL. I got my brotherlocks (i’m a guy) and i’m currently 6 months in, but i’m struggling so much to love them right now, but I have noticed they have grown and developed a lot from the beginning. I hate this pre locking phase. I’m trusting the process. it feels like i’m trapped in it forever 😂😢
@@MsJacksonTravels Thank you so much! I'm hoping the drop comes in month 7 or 8th.I am noticing they're getting into the budding stage which I believe I phase 2. The ends are getting bigger.
@MsJacksonTravels Thanks for answering! I've had my locs for 10 months and I'm already halfway done with combing them out lol. I'm going to get microlocs instead.
Oh amazing!! I’m glad you’re still able to comb them out and get the locs you actually want! And microlocs are such a good choice - it’s what I’ll do if I ever have to start over ☺️
You can get Sisterlocks with relaxed hair but you need to have about 2 inches of new growth. The new growth will be locked, the relaxed parts will not since it’s chemically straightened. Eventually it will need to go, many people keep it just for the length. I didn’t like the contrast between my locked hair and the straight ends, so that’s why I eventually got it chopped.
Thanks for sharing ❤️🙏🏿!
You’re welcome ❤️

I think long beautiful locks is the reward for going through the transition stage. You have to learn to love yourself in the early “ugly” stage and really accept yourself and your hair. After this you can graduate and have long locs because you e done the inner work. I’m seeing a lot of chatter online that microlocks are “straight hair adjacent”, and trendy now because people want to mimic straight hair. Thanks for sharing this! It was so informative. I love your hair and that Colour 😊
Soo glad to hear that! Thank you!
Your locs are BEAUTIFUL!!!
THANK YOU 💕💕
Your welcome ❤️
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Your locs are flawless. May I just add that you are very young and not an elder. :) Such beautiful melanin skin. Curious what you're using for natural grey dyes or dyes in general. :) Thank you.
haha, thank you!! I'm only 38, so certainly not an elder yet, but hair is considered to be in the elder stage. I don't have greys, I use Dark and Lovely. Here's my colour process: th-cam.com/video/t8gL-BA7EMQ/w-d-xo.html. Thank you for watching and for your kind words 🧡
Great video. Thanks
Thanks for watching
Your loc’s are beautiful!
Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing ❤
You're so welcome :)
Your hair looks beautiful..I had locs over 11years but i cut it..am going to start fresh again.
Oh wow! That’s a long time. What are you going to change about your second set?
@@MsJacksonTravels I want to try sisterlocs..
So inspiring! I am 9 months today!!
Happy 9 months!! 🥳
BEAUTIFUL 🖤💯✨
Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome! 💛
Aw, I feel you. The beginning can be rough but it honestly makes you appreciate your hair so much more once it matures.
@@MsJacksonTravels Thank you so much! I'm hoping the drop comes in month 7 or 8th.I am noticing they're getting into the budding stage which I believe I phase 2. The ends are getting bigger.
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Jeez I love this vid and your hair is gorgeous. Luckily I didn't experience saclpy but I am in year 5 and I don't want to go back
Thank you :)
Girl you look exactly like my sibling
Really? Can I see a pic? ☺️
Can you please talk about how you maintain your color
Will do!
Beautiful locs I love the colour.I am in my 16 months, and don't regret getting my sisterlocs.
Agreed! I’m only 2 years in but I’m so secure
Love this for you ☺️
Do sisterlocks become flat if you lie down too much? I have 68 locs and want to transition to sisterlocks because my locs are becoming flat.
No they don’t get flat. I can see how that could happen with thicker locs. How long have you had yours?
@MsJacksonTravels Thanks for answering! I've had my locs for 10 months and I'm already halfway done with combing them out lol. I'm going to get microlocs instead.
Oh amazing!! I’m glad you’re still able to comb them out and get the locs you actually want! And microlocs are such a good choice - it’s what I’ll do if I ever have to start over ☺️
24 hours for install day? One shot? All at once? Wow!
Yep one shot!
❤
I KNOW SOMEONE THAT STARTED THEIR SL'S WHILE RELAXED , WHY DID YOU HAVE TO WAIT 4 MONTHS?
You can get Sisterlocks with relaxed hair but you need to have about 2 inches of new growth. The new growth will be locked, the relaxed parts will not since it’s chemically straightened. Eventually it will need to go, many people keep it just for the length. I didn’t like the contrast between my locked hair and the straight ends, so that’s why I eventually got it chopped.
