My mom always said hair and scalp’s best friend is water. 💦 Many women say their hair is dry and needs grease, etc. But their hair is dry because the hair is not getting enough water.
This video was good. Thank you. I am 2 years and 6 months locd. I have sisterlocs and I don't do much with my hair. The reason why I locd my hair it's because I survived a stroke in 2020. This left my left side weak and I cannot use my left hand to do much. This hair style works for me because I have little use of my left hand. I have very thin hair my hair started to grow our. I don't do much because I cannot do much with my hair or manipulate it. It has grown alot since I got the sisterlocsvestablished.
Oils such as rosemary, teatree , vitamin e mixedwith water, ihave had. My sisterlocks for 4 years and my hair a little past bra length. Good luck on your journey
Clicked immediately when I saw water your scalp because yes!!! That’s the real tea. I’ll be a year loc’d this month, kept my hair in protective styles starting out and would still spray my scalp and any hair that might be showing with an aloe juice water and oil mixture plus an herbal tea rinse and oil my scalp and the growth has been crazy. I only retwisted twice 6 months apart and I’m so excited for this journey. It just feels so good to take care of your hair it’s just like a plant
Yesss sis! You get it!!!! I am going to try the aloe juice water and oil mixture on my hair I’m always looking for was to grow my hair naturally! It is indeed a plant that’s why I was advocating so hard to try natural things instead of just running to the beauty supply store getting things that’s labeled “hair growth” because we all know 9/10 it’s not really gonna grow out our hair lol I appreciate your comment!!! 🩷🩷🩷🥂
loved this video and thank you for the detailed info. I am all about less is more with haircare :) Also, what's the name of this song in the background?
I cut my bra length hair super duper short because I got tired of it and then got sister locs by “accident “. I didnt know what they were until I met a Loctician coworker. Five years later, my hair is back the length it was before I cut it. I just blinked. I keep it very simple. Distilled water and essential oils.
If giving your hair water gives your hair life then how can it be dead? If treating your hair like a baby then how can it be dead? Our hair is alive as long as it's attached to a living being. Have y'all ever heard when you're scared your "hair stand up on end" Hair is God's gift. Therfore hair is not dead when it grows out the scalp. Nothing dead grows.
Hair is not living. That is why when it is cut, it does not hurt. The follicles the hair originate is living. When she states, “water gives your hair life..”, she means water stimulates the follicles. When your hair, “stands on end”, it the feeling you get on your scalp and follicles--which are living. I believe in spirituality as well but we must tell the truth. This is in no way diminishes a higher power--that higher power made the scalp and follicles.
Thank you for your tips!! I locd my hair two years ago and I feel like my growth is not as much as it could have idk but I haven’t been taking care of my scalp and that can be why!
How can you water your scalp without unraveling in earlier stages? I always find a way to add some type of moisture since I went natural and transitioning to locks has been a struggle. I never had dry scalp but keeping my hair dry to help the lock process has been irritating my scalp, but if I use too much moisture it will unravel my hair in some areas 🙃
@@juanitagartley937 Thank you for your comment! I understand it might sound odd, but when I refer to my locs as ‘dead hair,’ I’m talking about the hair shaft that’s grown out of the scalp. The hair we see is actually made up of dead cells, which is why it’s not painful when we cut or style it. The living part of the hair is in the follicle beneath the scalp. I appreciate your input.
Take care of your hair like if you take care of a plant🪴 you water it every other day with rose water or regular water. Talk to it, show us some love ❤❤❤❤ lol
Also drink a lot of water that helps a lot too❤️ October 27 will be three years on my lock journey and I never thought I would say this, but I love my hair🔥🙏🏾💕👑

I hope most people read your comment. I laugh when people say your hair from roots is dead. It can get damaged.

Have you tried using a water based oil on your scalp instead of spraying your scalp with water?
@@Locdinwitmani I have not, that makes so much sense, thank you!
❤ Rice water and Rosemary Water
Both can be drying for certain hair types..be sure to only apply to the Scalp and perform a long test on a small section😊
