I am 2 months into my loc journey and IT’S THE BEST DECISION I’VE EVER MADE 👍🏾. I. Cannot put any oils in it yet though. Great information because my lockticians did not give me a sisterlocks kit and I had to pay for my 1st retie. She did an amazing job though but I’m looking for a closer locktician because she’s 1 1/2 hour away😩in California where traffic is awful.
The first 3 hours of reteist was instead, $60 an hour after in San Diego California. Cost 1550 for 9 inches of hair. My first retwist took 8 hour because I was 5 weeks in with my locs.
I have had my sisterlocks for 2 years. I am currently looking for another loctician. I was sick to my stomach when I noticed the damage done to my hair. I trusted her. She just retied so tight my hair was pulled from the root. I have already lost 2 locs. I am sick. Crying. The lady I want to try is literally charging almost $400 for a retie.
Im in a similar boat. My first loctician who did my install + 2 reties did my hair far too tight and I have breakage from it. I lost alot of locs in one spot. Fortunately I can cover it. Then I found a second loctician who retied me once and said she cant see me again until I 'fix' the breakage from loctician #1. I am retightening at home going forward. There are a ton of videos online. Im terrified of letting another 'loctician' in my hair ever again. They just want your money.
I am a #newsubscriber who is also documenting my journey on TH-cam. I enjoyed this video and if I didn’t, I would seriously consider it. Thank you for sharing this valuable information.
I contacted several people...I had to show up with my hair already washed and had to pay $1200- $2000 for an install of sisterlocs/microlocs....that's it...nothing extra. I've just decided to start my locs myself. Unfortunately, retwist start at $200.
Sisterlocks are expensive. That price range depending on your hair length, sounds right 😩 The install is a package though that includes your 1st retight. Like I say if you can start and maintain your locs yourself, that is the best! Good luck on your journey :)
I had locks for a year and a half and they were small at first but became medium as they grew..problem they were getting heavy and my scalp was becoming more and more tender..I have fine hair up on the scalp and thick on top "if it makes sense"and I was doing everything on my own..so I cut them off..although they looked healthy but I got afraid of becoming bald, because of the pain..question? Is sisterlocks lighter?!
My sisterlocks are pretty light, but I've never had bigger locs so I can't compare. My locs size hasn't changed over time and I've trimmed them to keep them light. I would book a consultation with a reputable loctician and share your experience to see what technique they would recommend for your hair type.
Hey! I know I only go over it briefly, I plan to do a video on just my colour soon. I use dark and lovely and it has ammonia-free hair bleach - so yes.

You are so beautiful! I love how just natural, raw and free you look. It’s inspiring.
Thank you!!! Natural, raw and free is a perfect way to describe my style - love it!🙏🏾❤️
ME too! Freedom. I will start my journey this month.

Your hair colour suit your skin tone. You hair looks amazing.

SL prices 😩 How long did your install take?
You should do more loc videos. Very informative. Could you do a video on how you moisturize your hair
Thank you! I plan to make more - ok I can definitely do one on moisturizing 🙂

You’ve been locked since 2013. That’s amazing.🙂
Yep. I had to dig up my paperwork to check the dates since I had them wrong in my head 😆 Been a long time!

Omg I’m so sorry you went through that 😟 Where are you located? A good loctician should be able to repair the damage over time.

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💕💕💕 beautiful hair.
Thanks Georgina! 💕
I’m finding that these lockticians don’t know about hair. They take the lick class, get their clients and that’s it.
You definitely have to vet everyone
My loctician is a licensed cosmetologist. It makes a difference ❤

Hello. I know you covered the topic of your hair color in this video. But when it's time to color your hair, are they bleaching it or not? Thanks 😊.

@@MsJacksonTravels Ok, thanks 👍🏼.
We have to move past terms like “ugly” phase and “DREAD”locks. It’s just an awkward phase and they are locs. Words mean things.
