I went off social media for the month+ of Lent...I replaced my scroll time with watercolor painting... best thing I've ever done. I'm far more engaged in the world now. Just got back from a 6km hike up into the mountains. Things i didn't have "time" for previously.

I like to wear red, bright pink, and bright colours to the gym when exercising. The colours make me excited to exercise. I love exercising and I love life.
My life has some sorrows like giving birth to a disabled child, having a husband with kidney disease, still waiting for a kidney transplant and me having a diagnosis of a mental disorder two years ago. I had brain surgery 2 years ago changing my mental disorder to one of a having a growth on my brain. I had brain surgery and the tumour was removed. I have changed my life now to one of joy and excitement. I have found colours and taking charge of my life has changed me to enjoy my life.
I live in a small city in Canada where I walk everywhere to buy groceries, live beside a river, enjoy the beautiful countryside and enjoy my lifestyle.
Thank you Mel! And your guest!

Stretching, moving, meditating at the end of the day, these are what help me feel relaxed and give me a good night's sleep, or doodling , colouring, drawing, research shows this also calms and relaxes the brain and helps with pain, anxiety, stress also. Build a happy little habit and it grows and helps you become motivated and more present ❤

I did the same thing with the Eclipse, twice!! Drove 7 hours to my friend's home and we then drove another 3 hours south to capture 4 minutes of "magic". We also spent 6 hours hanging with butterflies a different day and we hike together whenever we get the chance. Next year the two of us are going to Alaska to chase the Aurora Borealis, ride a train, and soak in Hot Springs. I also walk around my yard barefoot almost daily [earthing] to receive the benefits of grounding and a silent mind. I absolutely love that I have found a way to disconnect from the mundane and absorb the awe of our surroundings and what nature provides us. My anxiety has nearly fully disappeared!!!

Scrawling and iPhone is not always a bad thing. That is my favourite tool to go to when my narc husband goes into silent treatment for weeks. As a marketer, I've studied colours and what comes to mind is that colour is often
interpreted very differently around the world. For example, white in Western Society is associated with weddings, cleanliness, etc.; however, in some Asian cultures, white is quite the opposite: it represents death, for one.

I own a laptop so it stays home. I own a flip phone with no internet by choice. I don't want to be distracted constantly. I do not drive so no need for a GPS. I do what I need with the internet and then shut it down. I only have Facebook and TH-cam for scrolling and that is enough.

The internet is addiction to discontent. Which causes
Divine discontent. Never ever satisfied always more & more until emptiness becomes noticeably
boring if you notice at all.
Discipline is the answer by deciding it’s just a tool for
your work, school etc.. DECIDE! Why you utilize it
as a purposeful too. Otherwise your choosing to
dump yourself down. It’s a choice!!

Don't let other people control ur emotions, I know it's hard, but it's not impossible. Maybe Don't go see ur mom for awhile, and see if she misses ur visits....if she asks why ur not visiting, have a honest conversation with her how it makes u feel when hee attention is on her phone and not you....if she cares about ur feelings she may see what ur saying is true and will try to get better. For you❤. She's ur mom and she should be able to focus on ur visit or maybe she doesn't need the visit? Idk. But I have 3 kids amd they are always looking on their phones when I'm around so I don't hang with them much anymore. I feel not important enough for their attention so why put myself In that situation that doesn't make me feel good. It's a 2 way street. We can choose how and who we spend our time with. Good luck and hope u can find a resolution.

Dressing Your Truth with Carol Tuttle has taught me what colors works for me as I walk upon the earth… you can find her on TH-cam!!! I am a type 1 with my secondary being type 4!!!!!!!!
Colors mean a lot! As a massage therapist for 21 in Iowa!!! I do my best to select massage table sheets for my clients with their colors!!!!

I actually think quite different. Mobile phones are like knives. It depends on how you use them. Might be the case that the more you use them correctly and effectively it will be better.

    13:43 Red… 🥀😡👺
Parents carpeted our beautiful natural wooden Rustic funky house with RED CARPETS THRU OUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE!!!
    Not their bed room tho.
That house was angry abusive heart breaking after that day..
we all went different directions soon after ..
it was domestic violence every night. I had to pretend all was ok. The entire town knew when Dad came home after work drunk and slimey!
I loathe alcohol for that reason .. it’s sleezy or it’s a hiding in the shed..
So I don’t think red should be in a house if ur wanting loving space.
I note that chakras charts don’t have red for the heart like most would think. It’s Green.. I’d be a far more relaxed person if it had of been different.
Oh and I’m a red head to top it off..
put that into a study note of how it doesn’t work out well.😪😪

Red may be a bit energizing, but there was alcoholism & anger way before the red paint 🎨... Perhaps you matured to a level where you understood it.
Sorry you had to grow up in that environment tho 😢

I think it’s all about balance. And I think that’s what they are saying here. I don’t watch anything negative on my phone but I know I need to take time away from my phone and get back to nature. Your phone is not “bad” it’s just all about balance.

    • @lindygates

Ur right, it's a balancing act. I personally do not leave the sound on my phone, so when I have the time, or I want to check it, then I pull it out...its a choice that people need to make.

I would have gotten behind the ‘no cell phone on your person’ in the past, but with school shootings and such, if I had a school age child, I would want them to have a phone.
