BREAKING: The Sharks have claimed Barclay Goodrow off waivers from the New York Rangers.
The Rangers are off the hook for the rest of Goodrow's contract, which spans three more seasons at $3,641,667.
3.6 mil off the books with no penalty. This is huge! I love goodrow and what he brought to the Rangers but in a league with a salary cap we can't have him on the 4th line with that hit.
I don’t rule out the possibility of bringing him back in a trade during the year w SJ (where they retain half his salary). He is a good 4th line player and PK guy when playoffs come around, and SJ probably will be sellers come the next trade deadline.

Bertuzzi would be a good fit, he’s gritty , he gets in the mix and he could score! Get ‘em!!! LGR!!

Yeah, fans that don’t know WTF is needed to build a complete team. Done with this dumb ass franchise. Only time they got it right was when Keenan battled Neil Smith, and Smith gave Keenan what he needed…ROLE PLAYERS, grinders, physical hockey players. Listen to Messier the other day when asked what the Rangers needed to get over the hump…all he said was when they won the cup, nobody ran us outta any building. Do the damn math. You don’t win a cup with speed alone. Just look back at Herb Brooks and his smurfs. What do you think they will do. Speed and scoring instead of size and physicality. Goodrow aside, they don’t wanna change the culture of this team. Watch who they draft.

I'm glad this move has happened, he's not a productive regular season player and that's what we need right now. I can't see over paying and keeping a player just for the playoffs. We need a permit 1RW, rent Goodrow at the trade deadline if a grizzled veteran is needed before the playoffs. Let's close this revolving 1RW door. I'm pretty sure most if not all Stanley cup winning teams have a complete top six!

You mean like a series clinching hat trick? Where was Goodrow in game 6? I was in the building that night didn't notice him at all, remember Panarin working his ass off, Shesterkin stood on his head, but not much from "Mr. Playoffs " let's put that 3 million to better use. Don't cry about your star players because we lost, they got us there in the first place. There are other Goodrows out there.

Darius I don’t give a damn that Goodrow wasn’t a scorer during the season. He ain’t supposed to be. That ain’t his game. You see how yourself and alot of fans are conditioned to scoring. Rangers had an excellent season. Where are they now. And who excelled in the physical series, Goodrow. Who wilted, like always, basically the rest of the damn team. You could always play for the Presidents trophy every year.

Barkley goodrow was a good face-off man but I guess Drury has to free up cap space to sign some good players, what Drury needs to do is move trouba and his big contract because trouba makes $8 million a yr which was a bad signing to me, trouba is not a good captain it should be trocheck or kreider and let's hope trouba is the next one to be waived or traded to a team like Buffalo sabers or to the Anaheim Ducks, I hope it's good riddance trouba. 👋👋👋👋👋
